Shaurya’s POV

I woke up early as usual. Mehak was in her deep sleep. I slowly closed the door and headed to my morning sprint. After couple of rounds around my garden, I headed to the kitchen and saw Awara preparing for breakfast, he already prepares my smoothie ingredient ready on the counter, I just blend them all and asked what he is planning to do for breakfast, he said waiting for maa to give him the menu. Usually its Mehak the one prepares the breakfast and tell him what to cook etc. I climbed the stairs and instead of getting to my room I headed to my office room. I sat there as I scroll through my Macbook. Few emails need my immediate attention and I also need to sort some business-related matters with Vicky. I have few other issues to sort with him too, my mind quickly went to incident happens two days back. Shruthi… how can I forget her easily. She easily came in to my home and create a mess and hurt my Mehak and my baby. Only I know how much I went through that very moment. I checked my mobile and find my contact, I quickly called the other person, and asked them to do some work and they told me will get things done by 2 days. I gulped down the balance smoothie and leave my study room. Mehak was at the dresser putting on her earring and she looks good in her peach colored suit.

Mehak: Morning…

I just walked towards her and wrapped my arms around her as I rested my chin on her shoulder. She hates it when I hug her after my morning sprint as I drip in sweat. I can’t help it and I want to see the annoyed Mehak now. Surprisingly she didn’t sound at me as I expected but she gave me the most beautiful smile. My other hand went to caress her bump to which she giggled gently.

Shaurya: So, did you sleep well last night?

Mehak: I did and today I feel fresh. I want to help maa a bit.

Immediately my hands turned her to face me when she said that, she looked at my face and I am sure she can read my expression which means I don’t approve it.

Mehak: what happened, why you looking at me like that?

Shaurya: You just got discharged yesterday and now you want to go to kitchen to cook, take rest sweet heart. There are plenty of people at home to handle all these.

Mehak: (pouting cutely) But I can’t be staying at room all day not doing anything right, I promise I wont do much, I will just sit and let Awara bhaiya to cook and I will tell him what to do.

Shaurya: (as if thinking hard) the answer is still no. Let me get showered and I have plenty of work to do and why your hair is still wet, sit down let me blow dry your hair.

He didn’t let her to speak a word as he started to plug the hairdryer and start working on her hair, he run his finger through her hair and she looked at him from the mirror reflection. He combed her hair and once done he planted a kiss on her hair and went to take his shower. Mehak just looked everything from the mirror and she gets up slowly from the seat, taking the dupatta from the bed and she headed downstairs to see maa. She greeted her and hugged maa.

Karuna maa: morning beta, how are you feeling today? Why did you come downstairs, I wanted to send your breakfast upstairs?

Mehak: Maa please I am perfectly fine, and you don’t join Shaurya’s gang, he just now didn’t even allow me to go to kitchen, and you also want me to stay in the room, I will get bored you know. At least I am here with you, I can spend time with you, with Naughty and I can ask Awara bhaiya to prepare my favorite dishes.

Awara who was passing there to the dining area stop by and answered her.

Awara: Bhabhi are you alright? Anything special you want to eat today?

Mehak: Bhaiya I am okay, maybe we can make Dhokla with mint chutney?

Shaurya who came there and answered. Mehak looked at his casual wear and wonders why he is not in his formal wear as he will leave after his morning breakfast.

Shaurya: Why are you here, I thought you will be in our room? What you planning with Awara now? Maa you don’t take her side okay? Remember what did Dr Geeta said?

Maa: Shaurie this time I am at your side, sorry Mehak beta, now sit down have your food and later I will get Awara to prepare your snack, now eat this and this is your juice. You must finish them up as well.

Mehak: Maa, please sit down now at least eat with us, since you started to move around on your own, you have been doing a lot of work, I will call and complain to Dolly maasi.

Maa: (as she pulls a seat opposite Mehak) Beta, I have been sitting for so long, so once I started to move around I just feel like this is a form of blessing. So, I want to do all these now. You have taken care of me very well and I owe it to you because It was you the one who were persistent for me to try Ayurveda treatment and even Shaurie’s specialist cant do much.

Shaurya: ( as he stuff his mouth with a roti piece) Maa you still need to thank me, it was me the one who searched for her around the globe and found her hiding at Manali and I bring her back home. So the credit goes to me.

Mehak: Maa, ignore him he didn’t find me, it was his accidental pure luck. By the way Mr Khadoos Kumar, you didn’t ask me or bring me back home, you kidnapped me from there. Maa do you know what he did, he gave me sleeping pill in my milk and forcefully carried me back to Delhi.

Maa: Shaurie, you did the right thing, though its sounds filmy knowing my bahu who is stubborn as you , I am glad you manage to bring her back home and now Mehak beta, no more arguments eat and lets walk around the lawn, poor Naughty been looking for you everywhere. I asked the servant to bring him for a walk.

Mehak: Shaurya, you are not going office is it? Or you are going later?

Shaurya: Nope I am not going to office for sometimes, I will let you know later, now eat your breakfast.

Mehak quietly had her food as she rolled her eyes at Shaurya who smirked at her. Vicky came to join them, he asked how’s Mehak and she replied she is feeling better and asked him to sit down to have his breakfast. They finished they breakfast and Mehak walked to the lawn to see Naughty, she brings along his treat and called his name couple of times till he let out a happy bark and ran to her eagerly, he started to jump in excitement around her. She kneels to his level and patted him and hugged him as she planted a kiss on his head. He let out a growl being happy to be with Mehak. Mehak quickly open his treat packet and offered to him. He took them inside his mouth and Mehak sat next to him as he didn’t want to leave her at all, he just wagging his tail excitedly as she cuddled him. Once he was much sober, she pointed to her bump and pull him closer to her bump and he tried to sniff at her bump. In a short while Vicky came to lawn to ask her to come in, she walked inside with Naughty following her back. She was surprised to see Kanta chachi, Jeevan chachu and Ravi chachu in the living area.

Mehak: Chachi, chachu when did you all came? (hugging chachi as chachus looks at her)

Ravi chachu: We just came beta, come sit down.

Shaurya asked them to have a seat and Maa asked Awara to bring in some refreshments but Kanta chachi told her its not necessary but Mehak interrupt and ask chachi not to say anything. She sat beside chachi and asked wellbeing of everyone at home.

Mehak: Chachi hows dadu and PD, is everyone okay at home?

Kanta : Everyone is good Mehak. Mohit called yesterday and we told him about you and he was upset, he wants to come back from Rajasthan to visit you, I told him to call you and talk first and we can manage here.

Just then Awara came to serve them the snack and some refreshment and Mehak asked them to help themselves.

Mehak: So chachi, what is the matter, you guys came here in the morning.

Jeevan chachu: Mehak beta, everyone at home were so worried about you, so we came here to see you how are you doing? (he didn’t sound normal though, as if he has some other agendas deep in their mind)

Shaurya’s POV

I sits there and just observe them quietly and deep down in my heart, I knows why they are here, I heard their conversation back in hospital when Ravi chachu suggested to bring back Mehak to Sharma Nivas for couple of days. My heart constricted tightly the mere thought of Mehak leaving me, though she is not leaving me for good even when she is away from me for a day caused my tummy to flip in pain. I can’t stay away from her, and I wont allow anyone to bring my wife away from me. I adjusted my poise as I looked at Mehak and chachi as my face plastered with the usual smile.

Ravi chachu: Mehak beta, we are here because we want to bring you back for couple of days or weeks to our home.

Mehak looks at everyone there in her confuse state and her eyes looks on at Shaurya and maa.

Mehak: But why chachu? Is it something?

Ravi chachu: No beta we don’t mean anything, is just that usually when the girl is pregnant is our responsibilities from the maternal family to bring her back home for few days to take care her and make sure she is happy and well rested that’s why we asked.

Mehak: Chachu, I am very happy here, and I am always resting here, no one here even let me even to move anything here. Maa and Shaurya always here to take care of me. Even they prepare the daily meals here after asking what I feel like eating. So, I am happy here. Besides that, now Shaurya will be at home too, so you don’t worry anything, I am perfectly fine.

Ravi chachu: But beta…. We are worried about your safety, we don’t want any untoward incident happens to you.

Mehak: Chachu, accident can happen anywhere, the other day it was not anyone’s fault. Shruthi came here, she had misunderstanding and when she was leaving she accidentally bumped into me and I lost balance. You know right, I always lost balance even in our home, I felt down numerous times at our home, see the scar above my eyebrow that’s one when I tripped and fell from the balcony and another one when I fell in the living area.

Kanta chachi: See, I told you both, she wont listen, she wont come with us because Karunaji and Shaurya is taking care of her well and she is very happy here, you two were stubborn and wanted to come here in the morning.

Shaurya who was watching all he was elated when Mehak let her know her decision to stay here but what upset him is that she still supports Shruthi for her action.

Shaurya: Chachu, if you don’t trust in our care then let me know, I will talk to Mehak and send her with you.

The moment he said that Mehak looked at him and her eyes fixed on his stupor, she wonders if he is serious or what, he purposely wanted to be with her and all and now he wants her to go to Sharma Nivas.

Jeevan chachu: No beta, we are fully entrusted you our child to you, just we thought we can bring her back for couple of days like Ravi mentioned, but Mehak is okay here then we are very happy, just if you have time and don’t mind please do come to visit us there, Its been quiet sometimes you guys didn’t come there.

Shaurya: sure chachu, we will come there tomorrow, I was busy with few new projects and didn’t had time earlier, tomorrow we will come there and spend the whole day with everyone at home.

Karuna maa: Don’t worry about Mehak and her wellbeing, she is our home child and we will take care of her and we will not let any rooms for complaints.

Everyone laughed hearing her. After shortwhile, all left from there, Vicky and Shaurya went upstairs Mehak chit chat with Karuna maa for a while and she also take some snack in a bowl headed to Shaurya’s office room. She heard they were serious in some conversation.

Vicky : Bhai I am so sorry whatever happen to Bhabhi, this is all my fault. I should have not Shruthi come here.

Shaurya: Vicky I told you about this earlier, its not your fault, can you stop going on about this. I have important agendas to discuss now.

Later they started discussing, Mehak walked inside the room and she left the snack on his table and Shaurya signed at her to sit down and she sat there quietly watching them both, she wonders why she need to be there as this is about Shaurya’s business matters and she know nothing, she even don’t know how many restaurants he owns in Delhi and where else he invested with partnership as she never bothered to know about all these matters.

Shaurya: Vicky, I will be staying home taking care of Mehak now onwards and you will be in the forefront of Khanna empire. I will guide you and conduct most of my meetings and discussion virtually and if anyone need to meet you will be attending them.

Vicky and Mehak was equally surprised and Mehak gasped lightly which was loud enough to be heard by Shaurya to which he turned to look at her and smirk as he continues his discussion.

Vicky: Bhai how if I do any mistake this is huge responsibilities. You know me, I have made huge lost couple of times when I did my own business.

Shaurya: That’s why now you need to take this responsibilities. You are doing well managing all my restaurant’s operations and I don’t to monitor all on my own. So now I am appointing Ria as your manager and you will supervise her, and each outlet manager’s will report to you and you will report to me. I will put on hold my investment matters etc for now and if anything, urgent I will check on them. But I am always here, you can check with me anytime and I will guide you.

After the deep discussion ends Vicky moves out from the room, leaving Shaurya and Mehak together.

Mehak: Shaurya, is it necessary you put your office work aside and spend time with me? I will be okay, maa is here and she will take care of me.

Shaurya: Mehak you and our baby mean the world to me, these business, meeting etc it’s all nothing compare to you both.

Mehak: You won’t listen to me, I will tell to maa as well, she will know how to make you understand.

Shaurya: (pulling her by her wrist to him, which made Mehak fell on his lap) my feisty sexy laddoo, don’t waste your energy looking for maa, I already spoke to maa about it and she is with me on this decision. So I will be 24x7 beside you, taking care of you, disturb you, (he nuzzled her jawline to her neck which made her shiver) I am officially on leave to pamper my babies and take advantage of my sexy wife all the time without any interruption

Mehak: But Shaurya…. Vicky still young and isn’t it too much for him to handle? You have built all these on your own at such a young age, how if anything goes wrong, you will be very upset Shaurya.

Shaurya: Don’t worry, I trust Vicky and now he has matured well in business matter. So, I want him to take over this for some time. Besides that, I will manage most of the important matters from home, don’t worry all will be fine. Now come sit here and let me feed you this snack.

Mehak settled herself quietly to have that snack as he continues to feed her. Mehak tried to stop him complaining too full but Shaurya didn’t heed her and made sure she finishes all. The day went just like that and the next day Shaurya and Mehak went to visit the Sharma’s. The whole day the Sharma’s pampered Mehak and Shaurya. Mehak rested her head on PD’s lap as PD tell her stories about how her mother was during pregnancy and about few others. As the day gets late, Mehak and Shaurya took leave from there and headed to Khanna mansion. Shaurya told Mehak about their short getaway that he planned for them and she was excited and keep asking where they are going, but Shaurya just told her it’s a surprise. He asked her to rest as he will help to pack their clothes but Mehak was so excited and not feel sleepy, so both were chit chatting as they packed for their short trip. The next morning after their breakfast, maa packed for them some home cooked meals. Little that Mehak knows they are heading to Mussorie the Queen of the Hills. Total journey is almost 6 hrs but Shaurya stopped in between for washroom break and have some hot beverages and when Mehak was hungry he stopped again to have their lunch. They reached Mussorie by evening and Mehak didn’t realize as she slept right after the lunch and Shaurya adjusted her seat to reclined position, so she can sleep well. The melodious old hindi song made him energetic as he drives till they reached the resort that he booked on the hill station. As he pulled his vehicle at the front entrance, he turned to look at Mehak and unbuckled his seat belt and move closer to her, he move the hair strand which was on her forehead and blow air at her face which made her to scrunch her face like a child.

Shaurya: Mehak, wake up we have reached.

Mehak: Hmmm, so fast we reached?

Shaurya: (letting out a chuckle) You have been sleeping past 3 hrs sweetheart, atleast open your eyes and see.

Mehak fluttered her eyelids slowly and rubbed her eyes slowly and Shaurya slowly bring her seat up as Mehak opens her eyes to see around. She looks around and was confused where is this place and looks at Shaurya raising her eyebrows.

Mehak: what place is this Shaurya?

Shaurya: Let me open the door then you will know.

He came out from his side and jogged to her side, opening the door and letting her out. He helped her out from the car and Mehak looks around and see Shaurya.

Mehak: At least tell me now, where are we?

Shaurya: (wrapping his arms around her waist as he pulled her closer to him) we are in Mussorie, The Queen of Hills.

Mehak: (looped her arms around his neck) Mussorie???? We are in Mussorie, how did you know I wanted to see Mussorie?

Shaurya: You know I am smart, intelligent so I know everything.

Mehak: But, this how you know about it?

Shaurya: PD mentioned that you wanted to go for school trip to Mussorie and chachi didn’t allow you to go and chachi told you, to go with your husband once you are married right? That’s why I planned to come here.

Mehak: (her jaw dropped hearing him, and mentally cursing PD for disclosing this to him) You know too many secrets about me and I don’t know anything about you.

Shaurya: Let’s not talk everything outside here, come lets see inside the resort.

They both walked inside the resort and Mehak awed with the interior which looks crinkum crankum. It looks fancy as they walked inside. Shaurya passed his car key to the valet to park the car and headed to the concierge counter to collect the keys to their room. Once they received the key, the bell boy assisted them with their suitcase bring them to their room. Once they came inside the room, Mehak walked towards the glass paneled window which showcase the mountain view from their room. Shaurya walked to see her after the bell boy dropped their suitcase in their room. He wrapped his hands tightly around her and his palm went to caress her small bump. She rested her head on his chest.

Mehak: This is such a beautiful view Shaurya…..

Shaurya: Hmmm, so you like it?

Mehak: (turning to face him and looping her arms around his neck) Thank you for bringing me here, this view, this room setting is all so special, and I am very happy. By the way what is the sudden plan to bring me here. You were so busy with your office and etc…

Shaurya: Just want to spend quite time with a beautiful wife because after the child birth we won’t have much time to come out alone like this and spend time with each other so that’s why we are here for a week.

Mehak: (her eyes glinted when he said they will there for a week) Seriously 1 week here? That is super nice…. (pulling him towards her, she planted a kiss on his jawline) I love you so much for this.

Shaurya: really, you like this place?

Mehak: I love this place, I really love, love, love this place so much….

Shaurya: Nope you can’t love this place, you should only love me, only me for your love okay

Mehak: acha, So I love, love love so much my khadoos kumar and I like this place so much… and I love you more for bringing me here. This is such a wonderful surprise.

Shaurya: (cupping her face) I love you more, more than you can able to imagine. So if you are okay, shall we go down, their spa is must try, lets have a feet spa?

Mehak: yes lets go.

Both went to the spa and enjoyed the feet spa. The masseuse helped Mehak to relieve her feet sore. Following that they went to have their dinner at the restaurant located inside the hotel itself. The evening went well as both retired to the room and cuddled each other for a good sleep. The next morning Shaurya woke up early but he cant move as Mehak crushed him with her weight, she was literally holding him tightly like her favorite teddy bear except him being muscular.

Shaurya’s POV

It was such a good sleep last night except Mehak hold on to me like her precious jewel. Recently she became extra clingy with me even during sleeping. Not that I am complaining is just that, her belly is growing slightly, and I don’t want to harm our baby. This is a king size bed, but my lovely wife just needs to roll on my side. I looked at my side, she turned to the other side and I can move a bit. I rolled to her side and wrap her around my hold as it in spooning position where she fitted beside me perfectly. I hear her taking a deep breath and I know she will be awake soon, but I just want to be naughty at times and who else I can be cheeky except my wife. I nuzzled her neck rested my head at the crook of her neck. She moved slightly from me, but I moved closer to her. My hand went to her bump and caress them slowly. By now I know she will be wake up soon. I heard her growl a little.

Mehak: Let me sleep Shaurya… I am so tired.

Shaurya: Do you know what time is it now? We came here for vacation and you are sleeping, sleeping beauty.

Mehak: (still in her same position) I am not coming you go on your own.

I got up in disbelief hearing her, here I planned this short break to be with her and make her feel better and calm down our mind after all the unnecessary chaos in our life. Here she curls herself inside the comfy blanket and refuse to wake up.

Shaurya: Oh really, so I need to go on my own for sight seeing is it? I am going to fresh up now and when I come out from the bathroom you should be out of bed.

Saying that I get up went off to do my morning chores, I was taking my shower and hoping that by now Mehak got up from her sleep. Or else I should have carried her with me and showered with her.

Meanwhile in the room, Mehak got up from the bed and she checked her mobile for sometimes, then she walked towards the glass wall which showcase the green mountains from their room, she was so glued to the view when Shaurya came and wrapped his arms around her chest.

Shaurya: Finally, you are awake. (nuzzling her with his wet hair)

Mehak: You didn’t even let me to sleep, properly did you? Now you are here doing all these things.

Shaurya: The one who should be complaining about good sleep is me, you slept on top of me, the entire king size bed, you rolled to my side and I left no place to even roll.

Mehak: (turning to see him) So its my fault is it? Previously when I want to sleep on the pillow it was you the one insists and pull me to your side, and now I am so used to sleep on your arms comfort so don’t blame me. Why is your hair being wet, didn’t you dry them up, such a cold weather here Shaurya come here sit down, let me get the towel?

He watched her as she gets a clean towel and made him to sit on the couch and started wipe off the access water from his hair.

Mehak: You should really consider having short hair, sometimes because of this long hair, you take longer time to get ready.

Shaurya: Now its high time you go and get ready. If you need help tell me I don’t mind having another shower with you.

Mehak: Chi Shaurya, control yourself Mr Husband. Nowadays you are always into naughty stuff.

Shaurya: What can I do? I am a man with needs and come since you are tired I can help you with a good shower.

Mehak: Shaurya, you get dressed up, I will shower on my own, I don’t need that extra hands anyway.

Shaurya: Well nothing that you haven’t seen in me.

Mehak quickly shut the bathroom door.

Mehak: But I don’t want to see anything now.

She giggled as she takes her shower and get dressed up slowly. Shaurya has packed for her some comfy modern wear with turtleneck tops and scarf.

They both get ready and went for their breakfast. While eating Shaurya explained where they are going next, since Mussorie is good place for hikers and nature lovers, being pregnant is disadvantage for Mehak who gets tired easily after walking couple of steps. Mussorie mostly is steep area and Shaurya just want to be cautious. As per the guide’s advice he bring her to show the famous temple at Mussorie, Jwala Devi temple. They prayed and seek for blessings for their family and their baby. Later they walked around the temple and headed to Mall road for walking around the busy street. It was quite crowded but yet filled with vintage look. Arranged along a small circular path, the market oozes with gusto and radiates a colonial feel. The tiny shops dotting the arena perfectly fit into the settlement and present a compressed pretty picture of the entire place. Other than finger-licking street food, local trinkets, handcrafted jewelry, which made Mehak and Shaurya stop by to pick few to add into her collection. They spent sometimes sight seeing there and headed to the nearby restaurant to have lunch and headed back to hotel for rest well.

The next morning, they woke up with cold weather and heavy rain. Shaurya enquired at the counter and they mentioned it was forecasted that it will be raining the whole day. Shaurya told this to Mehak and she suggested that they should stay in their room, watching TV, ordering some snacks and he agreed to that. They returned to their room and turned on the TV, though the AC in the room not turn on but it was cold so Mehak took the throw which was on the couch to cover herself with Shaurya. They watched some random comedy show on the TV with some cut fruits and nuts which was on the coffee table. Then Shaurya recalled he should ask her what is bothering her as per Dr Geeta’s advice. He saw her, and she was excited with the TV show, in his mind he started to play with the words to use with her, so she won’t get upset easily. He ordered her favorite lunch and later it was just us quietly settled down on the couch comfortably into each other’s embracement watching the rain and the lush green mountain.

Shaurya: Mehak. (playing with her tendrils) can I ask you something?

Mehak: Since when you need permission to ask or say something? Ask me anything Shaurya.

Shaurya: Are you worried of something or do you have anything to say which you hesitant to share with me? Tell me anything, ask me anything, I swear I will not get mad at you.

Mehak: Shaurya I have nothing to ask, I am happy and not worrying about anything, you are simply over thinking?

Shaurya: Oh really, then swear upon me that you are not worrying about anything?

Mehak: Shaurya, for such tiny issue you are asking me to do this, I can’t believe you are behaving like this?

Shaurya: So now you are keeping secrets from me, fine then, then I will not share anything with you. (in his mock anger tone, he knows she will fall for this)

Mehak hearing him, turned slowly to face him and adjusted herself on his lap, she cupped his face and caressed his beard with her thumb.

Mehak: Shaurya, its nothing serious just some stupid thought, don’t worry, you are already too busy with office and other matters, this is nothing you know,

Shaurya: (he pulled her hands off from his cheek and looked elsewhere)

Mehak: acha baba, I will tell you now, but promise me you won’t laugh at me, or mock me on this matter okay?

Shaurya: (looking at her) you have my word. I will not utter a single word.

Mehak inhales a deep breath and adjusted herself as she leans on Shaurya.

Mehak: I am quite worried about a lot of things recently. The other day Sonal sent me a video whereby the pregnant mom screams and cries during the childbirth and she bleeds a lot. So since then I have this paranoid feeling about the childbirth and everything related to it.

Hearing her Shaurya literally face palmed as she said that.

Shaurya: Mehak, I know you are not smart, but I never know you are a dumb. How can you blindly believe everything? Now show me the video the one Sonal sent to you?

Mehak pouted at him and took her mobile from the nearby coffee table and show him the video. Shaurya watched the video attentively and his eyes looked at Mehak who flinched a little when the woman in the video screams higher. Shaurya exit from the screen and put the mobile away and he looked at her who was pouting anxiously.

Shaurya: Mehak, childbirth is a painful process but science and medical has improved tremendously in recent years. There are pain killers, injections, and many easy options for painless childbirth. Trust me, I will be there throughout our baby’s childbirth and make sure you stay safe and healthy, okay? This video is they made up with too much noise of the woman screaming and bloods everywhere. Don’t worry, I will be there by your side and make sure you give birth all our 5 babies safe and sound.

Hearing about 5 babies, Mehak’s eyes bulged out and her mouth opened wide.

Mehak: No, no I changed my mind, we will have only 1 baby and maybe 2 that’s all. No more 5 babies.

Shaurya: How come you change your mind, no I badly need 5 kids. I already started to plan their names too.

Mehak: Whatttt?? How come you started to plan the baby’s names without discussing with me?

Shaurya: You will be busy or tired during pregnancy and I don’t want to trouble you so thought of taking over some of these tasks, so I will plan their names, which school to enroll them, etc

Part 66 22/10/2020

After returning from the Mussorie trip, Shaurya did everything to make Mehak comfortable and feeling happy. He knows she do miss her parents once in a while but that one thing he is not sure how to compensate for her. He also made Shruthi out of her modelling field as he made her agencies cancel her agreement with her and hire new models for their job. Some of his business was well taken care by Vicky. Not to forget Mehak’s monthly doctor’s appointment. Shaurya brings her and speak to doctor about do’s and don’ts as well they attended the prenatal classes together, so it will help Mehak to overcome her fear and understand childbirth better. They also had a chance to meet other parents first time or second time ones in the class and exchange thoughts and ideas there.

Every evening will be walking session for Mehak along with Naughty and Shaurya will be going for his sprint watching them. He watches Mehak and don’t let her to sit down in between as she always complains tired after walking few steps. Sometimes her appetite is terrible, she only wants to eat junk food and spicy. If she had any spicy food, she will be suffering of heartburn and uneasiness throughout night. He doesn’t let her to take them most of the time but maa will sneak in those stuff and feed her quietly without his knowledge. Once he caught them at kitchen sneaking the spicy snack. Luckily Karuna maa supported Mehak as Shaurya should not deprive her wishes or else the baby in the tummy will be upset too. Though it was hard to believe but Shaurya let her eat them occasionally. Not only that her midnight cravings is something Shaurya least expected. He tried to stock up the fridge with her favorite flavors of ice cream, snacks etc. but Mehak will always crave for some street food, gola, gol gappas , rabri or anything from her favorite stalls at Jama Masjid. Many nights she will drag Shaurya to go out to eat them from the stalls there at wee hours. Once they reach home, she will shower Shaurya with tons of kisses and goes to sleep peacefully. Particularly there were one night, Shaurya was extremely sleepy and he doesn’t want to go out at that hours he tried to reason with Mehak to have something else at home but after couple of rounds of negotiation, he failed, and he went out to get her gol gappas from that specific stall at PWG. Mehak became happy and gulping that puffy, crispy snack like an excited child. In between she tried to stuff one or two gol gappa inside Shaurya’s mouth and his sour mood didn’t last long as she was contented to have her snack. He knows this is all due to her pregnancy hormone and she can’t help it.

Mehak reached 7th month of her pregnancy, and there was some urgent matter which requires Shaurya’s attention and he needed to go to Jaipur. During the evening walking session, Shaurya slowly made her to sit down at the lawn bench and Mehak leaned on his shoulder as they watch Naughty running around the garden.

Shaurya: Mehak, I need to ask your permission for something, hope you won’t get mad.

Mehak: What is it Shaurya, why are you asking for permission now…

Shaurya: You see I just got a message from Jaipur that the partners there want to meet up as there are some new issues. I tried to sort this via teleconferencing, video calls and everything I could but I still need to go there.

Hearing him saying that, Mehak looked at him with her eyes open like a saucer.

Mehak: How many days are you going there?

Shaurya: 2 days at least. But I promise you I will be here once I settled my work, you know right I can’t stay away from you and our baby?

Mehak: Two days and you must come soon okay, we will be waiting for you. Okay?

Shaurya never thought Mehak will agree with him immediately.

Shaurya: Promise I will come soon, and you can ask me anything and I will bring you out or make your favorite chocolate mousse cake with lots of strawberries.

Mehak: Okay, I want my mousse cake today.

Saying that she rested on his shoulder as Shaurya teased her as foodie, she pinched at his waist which made him to jerk and he give her smirk. Back in their room Mehak was watching some tv show as Shaurya came in with the chocolate mousse cake. Mehak adjusted as he sat next to her and offered her the plate with the cake and Mehak open her mouth signing him to feed her, he obliged as a good husband. Later he passes the plate to her and went inside the walk-in wardrobe to get some clothes for his 2-day trip. He arranges them on their bed as Mehak indulge her cake and looked at him.

Mehak: Shaurya…

Shaurya: Hmmm..

Mehak: If you suddenly go to Jaipur, who will help me make for me mousse cakes when I crave for them?

Shaurya stopped for a moment and looked at her, she was still indulging her cake.

Shaurya: Wow, my wife she doesn’t think about me, but she is worried about her mousse cake. Don’t worry I made a huge cake and left some inside the fridge, so whenever you want help yourself. Also, I already prepared your vitamins and all, do remember to take them after your breakfast. Drink lots of water and evening you must walk a bit with Naughty and don’t take lots of spicy food, I know since I will be away for two days you and maa would have plan what to cook and eat right? Remember eating in moderation or else you will be having heartburn and cant sleep through out night and end up throwing up.

Mehak: haan haan, you already told me this third time since evening, don’t worry I will remember everything. (saying that she got up from the bed to put the dessert plate away)

Shaurya stopped and looked at her, she looped her arms around his neck as her bump came in between them. He caresses the bump gently and as usual the baby will kick when Shaurya caress them.

Mehak: Aaww, baby just kicked. As usual when you touch my tummy naughty baby will kick me.

Shaurya: (bending to her bump) Baby be a good baby, and take care of your mommy, don’t keep her stay awake in the night. Papa will be back, and I love you so much okay…

Saying that he planted a kiss on her bump and kissed Mehak’s cheek. He started his packing while Mehak looks at him as she enjoys the cake. They hugged and slept as Shaurya need to leave in the morning.

At morning, Mehak sat next to Shaurya as Karuna maa served them both breakfast. Mehak had her food quietly, she was feeling sad as she can’t see Shaurya, but she masked her sadness and keep a happy face just for his sake. She knows he wouldn’t leave her and their baby for anything but this time it must be top urgent, and he must go to handle this on his own that’s why he must go. Before leaving Shaurya showed Karuna maa on Mehak’s vitamins etc. and reminded them on her food restriction etc. As he walked to the car porch, Mehak followed him slowly. He planted a kiss on her cheek and her bump and told her to take care of herself and he will call her later, she nodded her head suppressing her tears. The car moved out from Khanna mansion and Mehak stands there waiving at the car till it disappears from her view. Just then Karuna maa came to her side and Mehak couldn’t hold on to her tears, she holds on to Karuna maa’s shoulder and let her tears run freely.

Karuna maa: Bache (child) what happen? Why are you crying like this? Are you alright? Or do I need to call doctor or something?

Mehak: Maa, he is a jerk, he is a bad boy, bad khadoos kumar, (sniffling in between) he doesn’t love me at all.

Karuna maa: Arey beta, (caressing her back) lets go inside and sit down first okay, come with me.

Karuna maa brings in Mehak to the living area and sat down there as Mehak who still sniffling.

Mehak: I tried my best not to cry in front of him but maa, I don’t know why now I feel so vulnerable. I feel like he doesn’t love me anymore and he don’t care about the baby too. (sobbing heavily)

Karuna maa: Beta, don’t cry, please stop crying now. If you are being sad and crying like this, it will affect the baby’s mood and health too. You want Shaurya to be with you right, ok let me call him then. (taking the mobile to dial)

Mehak: Maa, don’t call him please.

Karuna maa: (Looking at her confused) But beta, if you are missing him its better ask him to come home and be with you, this business meeting is not important than you and the baby.

Mehak: No maa, he asked me few times before he leaves and that time I thought I can manage it as usual but don’t know why, my heart says something, and my mind say something. I don’t know maa.

Karuna maa: (chuckled at her reply) beta, its totally okay for feeling like that. You really miss Shaurya that’s why. He has been with you 24x7 and always doing everything for you and suddenly when he is away from you, you will bad. Don’t worry, tell me what you feel like eating or what you feel like doing? We will do everything together. I will do oil massage for you, usually Shaurya wants to do oil massage for you right, today I will give you good massage so in the night you will sleep well.

Vicky who came there stopped by to say hi to the ladies.

Vicky: Bua, Bhabhi, what you two are planning? Bhaiya already left to airport Bhabhi?

Karuna maa: Vicky, see your Bhabhi, poor girl, Shaurya just left 20 mins ago and here she is crying because she is missing him. I just managed to stop her from crying and now asking what she wants to do. Do something so your Bhabhi’s mood will be okay.

Vicky: Bua I have a perfect idea. Let me go out I need to go to site visits to our restaurants and I will be back, Bua if you need anything or Bhabhi you are craving for something let me know, I will grab them on my way.

Mehak felt better hearing maa and Vicky is there to cheer her up. Naughty came in there waggling his tail and sat next to her. Her mobile rang, and she looked at the caller, it was from Shaurya.

Shaurya: Hi baby, missing me already?

Mehak: (looking at maa, she gets up slowly to speak to him) No I am okay, now playing with Naughty.

Shaurya: Oh, good to hear that. Remember what I told you, eat properly and rest well. I will come soon to pamper you okay.

Mehak: (blinked her tears away) haan, haan, okay you always sweet talk to me like this, okay have a safe flight and call me once reached Jaipur.

Shaurya: yes, will call you once I reached Jaipur. You take care I love you.

They hang up the call and Mehak looked at her bump

Mehak: Baby see your papa, so naughty, he went to Jaipur without us. Very naughty, when he come back we will bother him so much okay?

Half day went just like that. Karuna maa asked Awara to prepare some healthy and yet tasty snacks for Mehak and evening as instructed by Shaurya Mehak went for a slow walk with Naughty as maa waited for her at the lawn with the snacks.

After a few rounds she sat down and enjoyed the tea time with maa as she throws the ball for Naughty and he runs to get it back for her.

Shaurya’s POV

I left home early immediately after my breakfast and luckily Mehak didn’t cry or she was okay. I was on the call with my team and Jaipur as they update me on the issues they are having there. As I queued up for the gate I called Mehak and she sounds okay. I sat on the flight and reached Jaipur less than 1 hour. My driver was waiting for me, I get into the car and headed straight to the hotel. I reached the hotel after the massive traffic. My staffs greeted me, and I headed straight to meet the “VIP” who is staying in dungeon. My men complained that he refused to eat or drink and he is having high temperature. As I walked pass the lightly lit dungeon, I looked at the time and headed straight inside. I saw the “VIP” he is nearly not recognizable as his facial hair grow into beard and his hair was long and of course with lots of bruises. I saw a doctor in there. I pulled a chair opposite and sat down.

Shaurya: So doctor what is his situation now?

Doctor: Sir he is quite weak now, maybe he needs good food and rest.

Shaurya: Doctor, I don’t have time do anything, either if you put IV for him, just proceed, if he so stubborn to eat and what you think I can do.

Doctor: Okay sir, I will get ready for the IV treatment, he will be fine by evening.

Shaurya nodded at him and left from there. He went to his cabin to start his work. He was occupied with his work and didn’t realize it was almost evening, he closed his eyes for a moment as he rest his head on the headrest. His mobile rings and he smiled as he slides to answer the call.

Mehak: I am not talking to you, we are upset with you, (looking at somewhere else)

Shaurya: (giggling at her) if you don’t want to talk then why did you call me then.

Mehak: Okay fine, then I wont talk to you. (pretend to hang up the call)

Shaurya: Ok, ok ok sorry I was just joking yaar. I missed you and caught with work here and didn’t call you. I thought later once I go to my room to call you.

Mehak: Okay fine. We are not upset anymore. I walked around the lawn with Naughty just now. Maa also joined me in the lawn. Now we are having tea time. (showing a pakora pieces to him)

Shaurya: Ok enjoy your tea time, also don’t eat too much spicy food remember??

Mehak: yes baba, I don’t eat too much spicy food, I will talk to you in the night. Okay? Bye

Shaurya: bye take care, talk to you later.

He hung up the call and looked at his watch, by now his “VIP” should waken up. He adjusted his jacket and headed to the dungeon. At the dungeon, Kunal was sitting at the chair with his arms tied to the armrest. He looked weak but upon seeing Shaurya his eyes blazed with anger.

Kunal: You scoundrel. Why are you keeping me tied up in this dungeon, just surrender me to the police or kill me, I can’t go on like this not knowing my fate on every day. Your guys are beating me to pulp each day and I can’t go on like this. (struggling to let go from the rope)

Shaurya: (his thumb was rubbing at his right eyebrow) If you call me a scoundrel then who are you? You are vile person who acted nice in front of an innocent girl. Then tried to snatch her virtue by forcing yourself on her, damaged her, bruised her and broke her self confidence finally you made her to suffer in the deep wound silently. You have made my Mehak to suffer so much, and you expect me to let you away just like that?

Kunal: I regret behaving like that, trust me but please its such pain to be like this in this room facing the walls, not knowing the day or night or even God knows how many days I have breath into fresh air. I am not a serial rapist or killer you know. I am just attracted to Mehak and I fall for her. Even though I know she is married, and I tried to stay away from her I just cant do it.

Shaurya: Well too bad for you, that is why you are here. Let me show you something, to make your day, (slipping his hand into the pocket, he took out his mobile, he goes through his gallery and chose a picture taken recently, then he showed the image to Kunal) can you see, we are celebrating our good news, we will be welcoming our new family member. If I am not mistaken this was last week, when Mehak refuse to complete her walk and being moody with me. Look at her bump, its growing rapidly and I am the happiest man in the world now. I have sweetest wife and a baby going to come soon. You know how many days that I have been dreaming for this moment for years. (smiling looking at her mobile screen)

Kunal: You are living your dream life then what about mine? I need to live mine too, please let me go, I will stay far from you all.

Shaurya: Well you should have thought about that long ago before entering our life and messed up us halfway through. Well, I got to go, have your meal and rest well. You need to be in good condition to see us living our life happily ever after.

Saying that Shaurya left from there, leaving Kunal screaming and asking him to come back.

Mehak’s POV

I spoke to Shaurya after my evening walk and I felt calm. Then we walked inside to the living area and Awara bhaiya asked me what I would like to have for dinner and I told him I am still full and can’t think of anything for dinner. Then the door bell rings and Awara bhaiya walked to attend to it. Then he came to living area to call me.

Awara: Bhabhi, come here please, you have something here.

Mehak: (being clueless) what is it for me bhaiya, (getting up slowly from the couch, and walking toward the main entrance)

When I reached the entrance, I saw there were someone from the gift delivery stands there with a huge rose flower arrangement, balloon.

Mehak: Hi, anything I can help?

Delivery guy: Hi maam, are you Mrs Mehak Khanna?

Mehak: Hi yes I am Mehak Khanna.

Delivery guy: Maam, we are here to deliver this flower arrangement, balloon and this too.

He passes the flower arrangement, balloon and a huge bear to her which lifted her mood immediately. Her eyes lit up with excitement and she quickly asked from who this from.

Delivery guy: Maam, it’s from Mr Shaurya Khanna.

He passes the gifts to her and left from there but Mehak’s face continue to glow as she carried the huge teddy bear and came to the living area and Awara helped her with the flower arrangement and the balloon bouquet.

She rests the huge teddy on the couch as she check the flower arrangement in front of her as Karuna maa asked her.

Karuna maa: Wow what a beautiful flower arrangement and I never seen such a huge teddy bear Mehak beta, who is the sender, any secret admirer sent this? (laughing naughtily)

Mehak: Maa, its from Shaurya.

Karuna: wow, what is the occasion beta?

Mehak: Frankly speaking maa, I cant recall what is the occasion its not our anniversary or birthday but suddenly he sent this, let me call and ask him then.

Karuna: Okay beta, you sit and talk to him, I am going to kitchen with Awara to check what to prepare for today’s dinner. Till then you sit here and relax.

Mehak: Okay maa, anything calls me, okay?

Karuna maa left to kitchen and Mehak took out the card came with the flower arrangement and read them anxiously.

Dear Wifey,

Enjoy the teddy bear, chocolate and the flower arrangement, I can’t wait to be back to you and pamper you further. Lots of love and missing you and our baby badly.

Mehak planted a kiss on the card and re read them again, just as she hugged the teddy bear again, her mobile rings and she took to answer them excitedly.

Shaurya: so how’s my surprise Mrs Khanna?

Mehak: I love you so much Khadoos Kumar, if you are here, I will kiss your cheeks till it gets red. (suppressing her giggle)

Shaurya: wow, then its my bad luck, I am here far away from you. I will be back day after and hope you still can give me that kisses, save it for me.

Mehak: Shaurya, I never seen such a huge teddy bear in my life, anyway maa asked what is the occasion, why you sent this bear and flowers? Don’t tell me you are going to extend your trip?

Shaurya: Just as I expected, in this relationship is only me being the romantic ones, you are as usual the dumb one, you can’t even remember the important dates etc in our life? (tsk tsk tsk)

Mehak: Shaurya, its not our anniversary or birthday, but why this sudden gift, Since I am the dumb one, why don’t you tell me the reason too. (sigh in annoyance)

Shaurya: Okay, exactly 2 years back today was the day I proposed you to marry me, so can you recall it now?

Mehak: wow, I never knew you will remember even our proposal day. I agree you are very romantic, and I love you so much.

Shaurya: Okay you take care, walk a bit and I will call you later, I got to go for my errands. Love you.

Mehak: Shaurya, give me a kiss.

Shaurya: Sweetheart I am waiting for the lift here, later

Mehak: But I want now.

Shaurya: (looking left and right) okay, muuaawahhh. Is that enough.

Mehak: Okay bye

Shaurya: Bye my love.

He hangs up the call and went ahead for his meetings and discussion. Whereas Naughty keep barking and running after the huge teddy bear at the couch, he was taken aback by the teddy size and felt jealous as Mehak only hugs and play with her teddy. After dinner, Vicky helped her to carry the teddy to her room and wished her good night. Mehak freshen up and rested her teddy next to her on the bed and waited anxiously for Shaurya to Facetime her as usual. As expected he called her as he removes the tie from his neck.

Mehak: Hello Shaurya, had your dinner?

Shaurya: Yes had my dinner with the partner just now. What you had?

Mehak: Maa did pulau rice and mattar panneer for me. Now I am at room with my huge teddy bear and I cant wait to hug my teddy and sleep.

Shaurya: Hello, how dare you hug him to sleep, you can only hug me to sleep. Put that teddy away from our bed

Mehak: I never know someone can get jealous easily by a teddy bear, anyway since you are not here, I am going to hug this teddy to sleep and that’s it, he will be here only. Got it, Khadoos kumar.

Shaurya: Mehak I will hide that teddy bear away when I come back. Don’t play with me.

Mehak : Haa, haa haa, you think this bear is tiny you can hide it from me, he is so huge than you, no way you can hide him (laughing rambunctiously)

Shaurya: Laugh as much as you want, later if you have your midnight cravings and aloo paratha, also your favourite Belgian waffle with ice cream topped with raspberry sauce, you get the teddy bear to get it for you okay?

Mehak: (quickly adjusting from her sitting position) what you are talking about, you know right, this is all because of our baby. I can’t help with my cravings you know (pouting innocently)

Shaurya: (taking his shirt off) so you decide its me or the bear? (flexing his shoulder muscle)

Mehak gasped a little at how his muscle ripped, he has been working hard for his body while he was with Mehak at home at his home gym, she brushes off the thoughts of ogling at her own husband, she tried to look away, but he caught her seeing him.

Shaurya: why are you being shy, girls out there dying to see me naked whereas you are my legally wedded wife, you have all the rights to check me out. (coming closer to the mobile to show his chest)

Mehak: Chi, Shaurya go shower and sleep well. Talk to you tomorrow okay,

Shaurya: (letting out chortle) okay my love good night, sleep well. I miss you okay.

Mehak: we miss you and love you, by the way you are looking hot okay (giggling and hang up the call quickly)

Shaurya looked at his mobile and smiled widely as he uttered, pagli.

Two days gone in a jiff, Mehak do miss Shaurya but she usually, talks to the huge bear and play with Naughty as well talk to her bump. Maa take care of her all the time just like how Shaurya does. While Shaurya getting ready to return to Delhi, he thought of pay a visit to his “VIP” at his hotel. He headed straight to the dungeon and he saw him sitting on the chair as usual. He stared at Shaurya, if he was not to tied down to the chair, he will pounce at Shaurya.

Shaurya: So Kunal, I got to go, Mehak is missing me very much, I need to go back to Delhi today. I am getting an interior designer to make our baby room and I am planning to organize a grand baby shower for Mehak.

Kunal: (letting out a sigh)

Shaurya: (knitted his brows) what’s funny here?

Kunal: You said I am psychopath here, but I think its you, because in front of Mehak you are acting like caring loving husband, in front others you are successful businessman but to me you are the cruelest, cunning man I have ever seen. You are no less than me.

Shaurya: (letting out a boisterous laughter with a hint of wicked tone) Call me whatever you want, I don’t care, to me what I care most is what My Mehak thinks about me, and she truly loves me and crazy about me. You can say I am psychopath, I agree to get My Mehak in my life I have done every psychotic act in the world to have her in my life and I am not ashamed of them. I am crazy about her and now our baby. You sit here and enjoy my hospitality.

He gets up from there adjusting his jacket and wear his sunglass and left from there leaving Kunal who begged him for his freedom. He boarded the flight to Delhi and anticipated to return home to be with his loved ones. His driver waited for him at the waiting lounge and took his suitcase from him. Shaurya seated in the car as driver drove him back home. He went straight to the lawn as he heard Mehak and Naughty giggling. Mehak was feeding his treats and he keep jumping higher as she held his treat higher. Shaurya strode silently as he wrapped his arm around her from behind which made her to let out a gasp.

Mehak: Shaurya, when you came?

Shaurya: (planting a kiss on her shoulder) I just reached and heard you both here, so I came here straight. So how’s my babies?

Mehak: (turning to face him) we miss you so much.

He planted another kiss on her cheek and Mehak looped her arm with his and she made him to sit at the garden seaters as Awara bring in hot tea with some snacks. He freshens up after that and sat with maa and Mehak chit chatting about his trip. The day ended as Mehak curled next to Shaurya’s shoulder as he caresses her long silky hair and she continue to banter about what she did the past two days without him even though she already told him all when the Facetime earlier. He listens to her like a diligent husband and only reply hmm, hmm in between and caressing her bump. He reminded her their appointment with Dr Geeta also the interior designer who is coming in to design their baby room. Shaurya saw the teddy bear occupying their daybed and he was relieved that its not him on the daybed instead. He slept when Mehak fell asleep on his shoulder.

P/S:Dear All, hope all of you are doing well and staying safe as well observing all the new norms by following the social distancing , wearing mask, sanitising your hand as well washing your hands frequently. My apologies for updating the chapter late. We are facing the 3rd wave of Covid19 and I need to do lots of arrangements, sacrifices and my project that I put alot of efforts and time etc has to be put on shelf till further notice which cause me terrible mood swing and I have no mood to do anything else. In fact I wanted to drop this fiction updating and logging off from all my accounts but I realized I have put in so much effort and made many friends through this and I cant stop this halfway so, I am updating this. I hope you guys understand is not easy to type 10 pages 4675 words lenghty chapters. ask any writers they will tell you. please be patience as I need to work from home, attend meetings in between manage a family and guide my kids school work etc. its no fun to be at home 24x7 even I like this way, I have Covid19 positive cases the next apartments which made me to think twice to go out of my coop. Part 67 17/02/2021

Mehak reached her 3rd trimester,her swollen belly made her movements slower than usual. She was checking herself on the dressing mirror and didn’t notice Shaurya looking at her from thedoor. He controlled his laughter as she rubs her belly and speak to their baby.

Mehak: Baby, how are you today?Today I slept well and now I don’t know what’s for breakfast. Looks like youhave grown a bit more, mumma’s tummy is bigger compare to two days ago.

She turned when she heard thedoor opens and pouted when she saw Shaurya giggle out wildly which onlyirritates her. She scrunched her nose at him.

Mehak: You started again yourteasing mode, instead of helping me to tie this dory for me you are standingthere and laughing at my misery. After so many days I slept last night or elseour baby will keep me awake throughout night.

Shaurya: (still laughing) yes,yesterday our baby let both of us to sleep well and of course you didn’t startyour craving drama, you always have some weird cravings at midnight which Ineed to go around and find them. There are some streets in Delhi which I myselfnever explored, thanks to you, you made me to go there to eat all these junks.By the way, earlier you were size of potato now you became like a pumpkin,round big pumpkin. (pulling her chubby cheeks)

Mehak: So now I am pumpkin foryou, first you made me pregnant then you blame me for my cravings , dailyasking me to do this that, and when evening you made me to walk along with you,morning breakfast I need to eat healthy food and you don’t let me eat myfavorite spicy stuff, you wait, (she looks around for something, then she founda brush and aim it at him)

Shaurya: Mehak, what you tryingto do, you want to hit your own husband, you are getting violent and this isnot good for our baby. (trying run away from her and climbed on the bed)

Mehak: The baby is in my team.

Shaurya: what teasing you, I amjust stating the fact. My baby always supports me.

Mehak: ouch

She bends down holding her belly.Seeing her in some pain, Shaurya jumps down from the bed and run towards her.

Shaurya: Mehak, Mehak.. are youalright?

He made her to sit on the bed andkneel to her to check on her.

Mehak: I am okay Shaurya. Justthat…

Shaurya: what happen? Is it timebut doctor said there is another 3 weeks.

Mehak: (wrapping her arms on hisneck) I am alright Shaurya just your baby kicked me so hard. See your baby notin my team. (pouting cutely with her playful upset face)

Shaurya rest his head on her lapand wrap his around her waist. Mehak combed his hair with her fingers andcaressed him. She knows he gets panic whenever she cries in pain even at theslightest ones. He holds her tightly and Mehak bend to kiss his head.

Shaurya: Mehak (he cupped herface), I am very tensed that you need to go through a lot of pain duringchildbirth. If there is a way, I can take all these pains from you. I don’twant you to suffer. Do you know, there is something I want you to know, Iwanted to tell you these, but I feel awkward a bit.

Mehak’s eyes glinted as shelooked into Shaurya’s eyes smiled happily as a sign for him to continue tospeak.

Shaurya: Do you know, I never hada normal childhood, when my mom died, and I was growing alone. Till maa bringme back here and she never even once treated me differently. She gives me ahome, good education, name in the society and even give me all her wealth tome. My dad he did nothing for me, so I always hate the word Dad. I thoughthaving good fame in the society and earning well its enough for the rest of mywell. Then one day I met my “laddoo” (planting a kiss on her palm), we fought alot then I realize we are meant for each other. We were only two and now we aregoing to be three soon. I am so happy, so excited to see our lil one. My lifeis going to be complete and I will be the happiest man in the world. Thank youso much for giving me this happiest moment in my life. I love you so much myladdoo.

As he leans closer to her bump,their baby kicked as both Shaurya and Mehak giggled. They know, every timeShaurya express his love their baby gets excited.

At evening, Mehak was wearing aparty wear for pregnancy. A fancy gown which suited her well and she did herhair . She cant zip them well and struggled a bit but Shaurya who walk in fromthe wardrobe, came to her aid and helped her to zip up her dress. He hugged herfrom behind as he looked at Mehak who blushed as she pouted.

Mehak: What is the need to go fora party now Shaurya. I don’t feel like going to any party, look at me, I lookterribly fat with a huge bulky tummy.

Quickly turn her to face him and caressingher bump Shaurya smiled at her innocence.

Shaurya: First and foremost youare not ugly, bulky fat. You are pregnant. You are 8 months pregnant andwaiting to pop in another 3 weeks. I agree you put a lot of weight but thatdoesn’t change how I feel about you and my love for you. My business partner isholding a party and he invited both of us to attend. Maa is not at home and Idon’t want to leave you alone that’s why I got you this beautiful dress and weare going. Don’t worry about anything, I guarantee you, tonight everyone goingto look at you.

Mehak quickly brush off and turnfrom him as she checks the drawer where she stores her earring. She was lookingfor a matching earring till Shaurya walks.

Shaurya: I think this one will bethe perfect match for this dress, what you say? (he opens and show her theearring container, Mehak quickly tried to grab from his hand but he avoided andtake them out to wear it in her ears by himself)

Mehak: (giggling as she looked athim at the mirror) wow Shaurya this earring looks stunning. But I never seenthem before.

Shaurya: That’s because its mygift for you, and I just got them today when I was collecting your dress.

He nuzzled her and Mehak restedon his warmth as his palm went to caress her bump.

Mehak: if we keep going to standlike this then the party will be over Shaurya.

Shaurya: Oops come let’s getgoing okay.

He held her palm as he guided herthe stairs to go downstairs. Mehak lifted the gown a little as she walks downslowly. As she reached the floor, Naughty came barking at her wiggling histail. Mehak giggled looking at him and she started to talk to him in babylanguage. She cant bend as her bump was not helping her. Quickly Awara camethere and picked him up, as Shaurya told him that they are going out and takecare of Naughty. Shaurya walked her to the car and make her sit comfortably, ashe buckled her up and runs to his seat and start the ignition to the eventlocation. In the car, Mehak turned on the radio as she hums the song. ThoughShaurya focused on the road, his left palm will find his way to her bump andcaress them occasionally. They reached the posh hotel lobby, he gets down fromthe car as he handover the key to the concierge and one of the guards open thedoor for Mehak. Shaurya quickly gets to her as he brings her out of the car.Mehak looped her arms with Shaurya and walked in slowly. Shaurya was busyreplying his mobile and Mehak looked the decoration, they entered the eventhall and the hall was filled many guests, many faces were known to Mehak andsome were new to her, the hall was decorated ornately. She quickly pulledShaurya near her to whisper to him.

Mehak: Shaurya, your businesspartner has a good taste, look at the decoration, looks wow. By the way Ididn’t ask, what function is this. This looks extremely grand, is it his familyfunction or business event?

Shaurya: Glad you like thedecoration and setup. Come let’s check everything around.

Mehak: But Shaurya most of theguests here all look familiar. I think I have seen them somewhere.

Shaurya: Yeah we have seen themall, now you need to meet some big group guests too.

In a blink of an eye, the entireSharma clan and Karuna maa with Vicky came in front of her and Mehak was takenaback.

Mehak: Maa, chachi, PD , Chachu,what you all doing here? Mohit , Sonal when did you both came?

Karuna Maa: Beta, it’s a surprisefor you, this your husband has planned something for you.

Kanta chachi : Shaurya , youstill haven’t told her right? ( As she looked at Shaurya and Mehak too lookedat him confusingly)

Mansi chachi and Kanta chachicame to Mehak’s side.

Mansi chachi: Mehak beta, todayis your baby shower. We have always been asking Shaurya we want to do thisfunction and he have been planning this for weeks and this place, decoration colorthemes etc. its all are his ideas. In fact to give you surprise he even askedKarunaji to lie to you about some other function so we all can gather herebefore you guys come. He makes sure Mohit and Sonal also attends this function.So everything planned well to see you happy.

Mehak was overwhelmed with thenews that both chachis breaks to her and they didn’t wait any second. Theyslowly bring her to the dais which was decorated with colorful flowers andballoons. They make her to take her seat as Karuna maa covered her head with abright colored “chunni”. She fed her with a sweet piece and PD came to blessher and feed her with a sweet morsel too.

Her face lifted with immediateglow as Nehal came to place a headpiece made of floral pieces which matches herattire. Shaurya watched her from distance as she whispers something to Sonaland Nehal. Nehal and Sonal came to him and pulled him to Mehak and made him tosit next to her. Mehak moved a bit as she gestured him to sit next to her. Heobeyed her

Mehak: So Mr Husband, this iswhat you have been doing secretly is it?

Shaurya: Oh yes of course, yourfamily wanted to do baby shower function. I just wanted to add a hint ofmodernization into that and organize this in the hotel. I am glad you love thedecoration, atmosphere the theme and all.

Mehak: But Shaurya how come youalways do such surprises, you were with me all the time and still you manage topull such a beautiful stunt. Anyway I love you so much for arranging all thesefor me and for our baby. Our baby going to be luckiest baby.

Shaurya intertwined his fingerwith hers as she looked at him in awe. He was surprised by Mehak’s sudden kisson his cheek. Their moment interrupted when Nehal came to pull Shaurya andSonal came to get Mehak to dance floor. Karuna maa and Kanta chachi asked Mehakto move slowly. Mehak danced slowly but Shaurya who sees her moving around gotworried and signed at her to go slow, but Mehak get Nehal to pull him to thedance floor too. He left with no choice but wrap around her protectively andenjoyed himself throughout the function. Mehak was exhilarated with the entirearrangements and wonders how her man never fails to surprise her. She is beyond happy that he painstakingly tookhis time off from his business matters etc just to be with her and she knowsthat every day he spends some hours in his office at home to attend his meetingvia video conferencing. No matter how busy he was, he always makes sure she ateher meals on time and prepares her juice, smoothies on his own. She was evensurprised to see Mr Rajeev and his wife came to congratulate them. She wasspeechless to see them, they handover her a gift and Rajeev clarified that,Shaurya and him had openly discussed their differences and now they havesettled their issues amicably. Thus they are there to congratulate them. Mehakfelt contented when Rajeev said that. She knew Shaurya has changed a lot butwhen he decided to move forward with Rajeev and inviting him to their babyshower function shows that how much he loves her and how much he means when heconfessed to her earlier. They came back home, freshen up and Mehak was lyingon the bed as her feet sore after walking around and standing too long. She wasnot sleepy but tired, Shaurya came out from the bathroom, he put some pillowsbehind her back and get her rest well and massage her legs slowly. His fingersdid wonders as her feet aches slowly disappeared but her cravings kick in. Sheremembered Mansi chachi passed her a box of home made gulab jamuns, rabri andjilebis. She knows if she asked Shaurya for this right now, he will never begoing to entertain but slowly he will coax her to sleep. So Mehak thought ofnew stunt. She yawned as if going to sleep and seeing her yawning Shauryathought she is going to sleep, so he covered her with the blanket and leave theroom to go to his office. Mehak slowly gets up and she tiptoed quietly to thekitchen. She saw the container on the kitchen and started to scoop the sweetmorsel into a bowl and moans as she chews them. Little she knows that, Shauryawatching her discreetly.

Shaurya: (Clearing his throat andfolding his arm on his chest as he leaned on the fridge)

Mehak: (hides the bowl behind herback) Shaurya , what you doing here? I just came to drink water.

Shaurya: I remembered the waterbottle is at our room. (rubbing his thumb along her bottom of her lips wipingthe syrup of the jamun and jilebi, he licked his thumb and looked at herquestionably. I never knew water can taste so sweet like this. What are youdoing so late in the kitchen? (he pullsthe bowl from her back)

Mehak: Shaurya, Shaurya pleaselet me finish this last piece of gulab jamun. Or else I can’t sleep you know.

Shaurya who knows her well, justfed her the last gulab jamun from the bowl, and wipe her mouth, offered hersome water and guided her back to the room. Back in the room, he put her to bedand tucked her comfortably and she doze off. Next morning, as usual Mehakrefuse to wake up but slowly she was up but she felt unusual but slowly she hermeals. By late noon, she felt uneasy at her lower abdomen. Shaurya was notaware of this as he was having meeting with some foreign investors. In themeantime, Mehak decided to call PD to talk to her.

Mehak: PD, how are you? I missyou so much

PD: Arey beta, I am good. Youonly saw me last night and so fast you are missing me?

Mehak: Don’t know PD, I feellilbit uneasy. Shaurya told me to take nap usually by this time I can sleep buttoday I can’t do anything. Maa and chachi went to temple and only will be backtomorrow and today even I walk few steps I am panting heavily.

PD: Laddoo, you are nearing toyour due date and all this uneasiness will happen. Don’t worry too much, youcan ask Shaurya to make some kaada to relieve the uneasiness.

Mehak: Ok PD. I will have thatkaada first. Anything I will call you. Love you PD.

Mehak’s POV

After the call with PD, I walkedto check on Shaurya, he was in a call and I decided not to bother him. I walkeddown slowly towards the kitchen. I remember the kaada recipe for the cramps andback pain. Recently I am getting terrible back pain as the baby drops. I doadjust my sitting position or while I am sleeping but the uneasiness is totallyunbearable. Last night, Shaurya doze off shortly but when I was almost going tomy deep sleep, my baby decided to keep me awake. I was rubbing my tummy andcalm our baby which took such a long time then only I manage to get some sleep,that explains why I can’t wake up in the morning. I feel like want to remain inthe bed the whole day but these days I can’t even hold my pee too long, so Ineed to wake up every now and then for toilet break. I thought after lunch Ican have my noon nap but , again our baby decided to do summersault and thecramp at my lower abdomen. Its like the one we get during the menses time butthis one is a bit strong wave. Each time the wave of pain hit me, I start totake a deep breath. Is this the actual labor pain? No it cant be, I still haveanother 3 weeks. Tomorrow is my weekly appointment, I will check with doctorabout this. Since maa and both maasis went to temple which is located in theoutskirts, they will be back by tomorrow evening. Awara is away to buy somegroceries. So its only me and Shaurya. I started to pound some ginger and otherspices while the water to boil. Suddenly a sharp excruciating pain pierced mylower abdomen. I bend down to hold my tummy and notice that something tricklingin between my legs. OMG my water broke, I cant even call Shaurya as the painstarted to come in waves one after one. My knees give up , I see everythingaround me spinning heavily and the next minute when I try to call Shaurya myvoice choked.

Shaurya’s POV

I had a long meeting today as weare finalizing some new investor’s project and the paper work matters. Mysecretary together with few key people involved were in the video conferenceand we were wrapping up the matter. Next few months there will be new projectroll out and I am super excited. My baby is going to be born soon, then my newidea on this project will kick start too. I checked the time as I stretch myarms, its early evening. Almost time for Mehak’s evening walk. I am sure she iswatching some random tv show as she munches some of her unhealthy snacks. Godknows how she gets them, must be my mother been feeding her all these stuffs. Ilooked at the garden from my room, its getting dark too. Just then Naughty cameto my door barking loudly. I opened the door as the retriever continue to bark.I patted him and walked towards my room to check on Mehak, I saw the room wasempty, I walked downstairs and check the living room and I didn’t see anyone atthe kitchen too. But Naughty went to the other end of the kitchen island and Inotice that there is a pot on the stove while the stove turned on. I quicklywent to turn off the stove and I was shocked to see Mehak on the floor leaningon the cabinet in the puddle of water crying.

Shaurya: Mehak, Mehak, whathappened?

Mehak: (taking a deep breath) Mywater bag broke, I think its time to go to hospital.

I carried her as Naughty looks atus, now I know why he was barking loudly and signing me to come to kitcheninstead of my room just now. I slowly put Mehak at the seat and pecked herforehead few times, maa, maasi all are out of town and I need to really keepmyself calm down. I quickly speed off to the hospital. During our ride Mehak tookmy left palm placing it on her lower abdomen as she cries in pain. But doctortold me she still has another 3 weeks for her due date. I hope this is notsomething serious. Every second when the pain gets worst she cried more whichmade me to cry too. We reached hospital and I quickly run to get wheelchair.Immediately we get to the delivery ward and Mehak was still holding my handtightly worrying as if I will leave her. Earlier I have discussed with Dr Geetathat I want to be present in the labor room when Mehak going to deliver thechild Dr Geeta stopped me when they wheel Mehak to the delivery suite.

Dr Geeta: Mr Khanna, please waithere , we are going to check Mehak and see what is her condition now.

Shaurya: But Dr Geeta, she stillhave 3 weeks, how come she is having pain now?

Dr Geeta: Sometimes all thesekind of unexpected situations does happen Mr Khanna. She is having pre-laborpain now. Let me check and will update you.

As she says that, she rushedinside the labor ward to inspect Mehak. Shortly doctor come out and informedShaurya that, Mehak has dilated 3cm and her water bag broke. Also Mehak’spressure increased which is not a good sign too. Immediately Shaurya was givenhospital suit and asked to come inside as Mehak still crying and not doing muchprogress. The moment Shaurya saw her, he enveloped her and comforted her withhis warmness. He helped her as shemanages to push out their baby and she fainted.

Mehak’s POV

As I was panting heavily cryingin the kitchen floor, Naughty came to me, I patted him as he sniffs my tummyand I told him to get Shaurya. My vision blurred a little, but I tried to shakeoff to keep myself calm, I realize that today is the day, the pain keep comingit was not like what they have prescribe to me before. Maasis told me it willbe more like period cramp but no, this is worst than anything. I screamed alittle when there was a sharp shooting pain at my pelvic region. In short whileShaurya came to kitchen with Naughty, he couldn’t notice me as I was on thefloor behind the huge kitchen island but luckily, he notices the water boilingon the stove and he came to turn off the stove and saw me sobbing and mufflingin pain. He carried me to the car, and that was when my voice came out, Istarted to call his name non-stop as the pain was getting to excruciate every second.I notice Shaurya started to cry too. I quickly grab his hand and place them onmy bump, he kept saying that I will be alright, and nothing will happen, the journeyto the hospital feels like forever. We reached the hospital and he quickly runto get the wheel chair and quickly scooted me to the labor ward. I held hishand tightly not wanting to let go of him. We requested earlier to Dr Geeta that,Shaurya to be present during my labor and she agreed. I was wondering where heis as I only see the nurses around me, they changed my clothes and keepassuring me everything will be alright. Dr Geeta came in and checked my lowerregion, she told me that I have dilated 3 cm and my water bag broke, I need toget ready for the birth now. She asked me to take a deep breath, but I onlywant Shaurya and soon he came in and hugged me. He held me as he keeps askingme to take a deep breath and push slowly. I kept crying and fainted. After Igained conscious, fluttered my eyes slowly and saw Shaurya holding something inblanket. My eyes welled again as he come closer to me and helped me to sitslowly and place out bundle of joy in my arms and I started crying again to seeour baby.

Shaurya: Isn’t she gorgeous? Justlike you. (he kissed my hair as I leaned on him)

We both didn’t want to know ourbaby gender and Shaurya always wanted a girl and I wanted a boy. So Mataranimade his wish comes true. It’s a baby girl. Her eyes were closed, and she movesher lips a little, I held her fingers and kiss them slowly. She is fair likeShaurya, her lips and nose are like mine. I looked at Shaurya in disbelief.

Mehak: Our baby is so pretty.

Shaurya: I know, and I love youso much for giving me this happiness and I feel a complete man now. I am gladMatarani has decided to make my wish come true, She listened to me this time soits baby girl now.

I pouted at him to show mydisappointment, he caressed my cheek.

Shaurya: But don’t worry wewanted 5 kids, another 4 to go, so I won’t disappoint you my baby, we will haveboys after this. (with a hint of suggestive tone)

My jaw dropped hearing him, Icant belief this guy, I just give birth our first child in fact the pain anduneasiness I went through its still fresh in my mind and he is talking about ourfuture babies.

Mehak: Shut up Shaurya, don’t youfeel shame talking like this. I think now 1 baby is enough for us. I am notready for more than 1 now, I changed my mind. (suppressing my laughter)

Shaurya: ok for now 1 baby is enough,maybe we will plan next year okay?

Shaurya’s POV

The moment Mehak finally pushed ourbaby, she fainted, and my heart stopped a moment. I tapped her cheeks few times,but another voice made me to stop whatever I am doing. It was none other thanmy baby girl, my princess is out now, and my eyes were glued on the smallbundle the doctor were holding covered with blood and another doctor cut theumbilical cord as they looked at me, I looked at Mehak as Dr Geeta said Mehakis fine, she is unconscious and nothing to worry, they immediately placed myprincess in my hands. Words were short to describe how happy I was, its beyondhappiness as how much this little bundle of joy made my heart to skip a beatthe moment she cried. I looked at the doctor puzzled as not knowing why she iscrying. A nurse told, its okay for the baby to cry as they are getting familiarizedwith the new environment. The nurse took back the baby to clean her up and,immediately carry on with their procedure and my eyes searched for her and Iturned to look at Mehak. She was still unconscious, nurses and midwives cleanedher up. Quickly they pass my little one and I can’t take my eyes of her, she isa miniature of her mother, yes, she had the same pointy nose, lips and she isfair like me. I am not saying Mehak is dark, but she is tanned a bit, but mybaby is quiet fair. She moved her lips abit which made me to chuckle, that ishow Mehak move hers. I thank GOD silently for giving me this life, this opportunity,this happiness and I cant thank HIM enough for being kind to me. I feel blessedas I looked at Mehak who is still sleeping, I caressed her head a bit and bendto kiss her forehead. The moment I placed my eyes onto her, I knew that I’dgive her my heart, and soul. Her first cry, first smile and first yawn justmade me fall in love with her immediately. Just then Dr Geeta came to me andcongratulate me and asked where is maa? Oh no! I didn’t inform anyone about thechild birth. I was panic, worried about seeing Mehak’s agony and it totallyslipped out of my mind to inform our family. I put back my baby in the cot and quicklycalled to inform everyone on the good news and waited next to Mehak excitingly.I will never forget this day in my life. The moment Mehak opened her eyes, shesearched for me and I fell in love more with her, she was in a mess, with allthe sweat, blood and tears but she looked angelic to me. The queen of my heartand now how am I going to thank her for giving me this princess this littletiny Mehak. She tried to get up and I helped her to sit properly and slowlypass her the baby, she couldn’t utter a word seeing our princess and her eyeswelled with tears and she keep looking at me and my tears started to come outtoo. I can see from her expression how joyful is she. I wiped her tears awayand I heard her mumble, this is our baby girl and Matarani heard my prayers, sowe get our first baby girl. The humor part in me kicked in and I told her westill have another balance 4 or more kid on our way, so we can have boys laterwhich only made her shocked hearing me. Poor her she just went through a hellto deliver our princess and me talking about our future kids. That warm andfuzzy feeling we felt in our hearts each time we laid eyes on her made us beamwith happiness throughout. I just cant wait to go home with our newborn, tobond with our newborn a lot. It’s a process of getting to know a tiny beautifulinnocent child that GOD has given to us, to protect, to love, and to beresponsible. She was like an angel, our very own angel, we were full ofgratitude and excitement.

Mehak: where is everyone?

Shaurya: don’t get me wrong, Iforgot to inform them that you have give birth till Dr Geeta asked me where ismaa, I remembered our family, so I have informed them, and they will be here inshort while.

Mehak: baby, look at your papa heforgot everyone after you were born. Tomorrow he will forget mamma too.

I bend over to her and plant akiss on her cheek as she looks at me.

Shaurya: If the day I will forgetyou, is the day I will be gone from here.

Mehak: (closing his mouth withher palm) what are you talking like this I was just joking you know.

Just then our baby started to cryand Mehak looked puzzle. One of the nurses came in and told her its time tofeed the baby and helped her to breastfeed. I looked at how my baby started tosuck the nipple slowly. That sight itself just melt my heart away. In a shortwhile our both families reached hospital, all were above the moon to see our newbornand wanted to carry her. Congratulatory messages and flowers from friends andfamily flooded, what else I could ask for then this. Nehal and Sonal suggestingme some names for my princess. Nehal’s choice were modern yet a hint of Englishones. Whereas Sonal choices were not bad too. Maa and chachis were suggestingsome classic ones. PD intervened and said Mehak and me will decide the name. Ialready have the name in my mind, just haven’t discuss with Mehak. I know she is okay with my choice but still I wantto involve her.

After 1 week.

Its been one week, Mehak and mynewborn came home. My princess has kept us awake in the night. Mehak getsexhausted as she need to feed her constantly and I can see she is sleepless. Sowhenever my baby decided to stay awake I will just accompany her letting Mehakto get some rest. Naughty my boy, how can I miss him out in this moment. If it wasn’thim that day who came to look for me I can’t imagine what would have happen toMehak and my baby. He is an intelligent retriever indeed.

Aarushi Khanna, that’s the nameof my princess. Mehak recovered well with all my care and love. I wanted tohire a nanny but maa and Mehak was against it. My interior designer did afabulous baby room and I can’t wait to see my princess playing there.
