CHAPTER 3

I Remember my 12^th standard result day , I was so nervous that what will my result , today I m getting same pit of nervousness in my stomach. I took it and had a bite. "Tension kaise na ho rahul, pichle 3 haftoon se hum saab pagal ho rakhe hai is food presentation ke liye , daar toh lage ga na . I replied while chewing my chocolate bar. Rahul laughed on my nervousness . there was knock at the kitchen door that connects to dinning hall I turned and found sameer sir standing there and pointing at me to come out . I immediately went to see if he needs something , yes sir anything needed . mehek they are asking for the person who made deserts , so came " . I got scared and followed sameer sir to our client . I wish them all and stood there . "mehek only has made all desert dishes under supervision of sameer " said KD sir. " . mehek I m really impressed with all your desert they are scrumpy. " said mr Abelard . I smiled on his words of appreciation . specially this item , whats its name " he continued pointing towards a dish. "Sir this is white chocolate macarons , ras malia and I further explained how I made it while mr Abelard was listening carefully ,I could see some disorted faces of mr nefin and miss Georgia . "and I garnished it with saffron on top with that I finished with my recipe of white chocolate rasmailia. All three germans discussed something in their language which raised doubt in minds of my boss and seniors too. Judging our wary faces mr nefin broke the tension . mehek your dish is marvelous , infact this is the best macaron I have tasted today. Thank you for the dish and explain it to us That surely brought smile on my face . "is this your creation or you have copied it from somewhere asked Georgia in a nasty way. I was taken back by her comment , I looked at sameer sir who was equally stunned on this and he answered , ma'am this is mehek's creation only , infact she had this dish in her mind from quite a time ". I thanked him with a smile and excused my self . while heading towards the kitchen I could feel ashima ma'ams scruitining gaze on me .i felt it akward . as soon as I reached kitchen rahul bombarded me with his queries . I narrated him the whole scene he reassured me not to cynical and to relax .much odd to my doubts I decided to follow his advice and we got busy in our work .around one hour later KD sir summoned me in his cabin , I thought he would have called all the chef but when I entered his cabin and asked to come in , I found only sameer sir , ashima ma'am ,vinay sir along with our boss KD who was siiting.

Sameer- mehek are you sure that this white chocolate rasmalia recipe is yours

My eyes got bit moist on her accusation and on the need of me giving explanation .Seeing the atmosphere getting tense sameer sir asked KD , sir , I think we should send mehek back to work . KD sir agreed and asked me to persue my work in kitchen . I left and came to kitchen . seeing my weak and tensed face rahul asked me what happened . firstly I tried to ignore the matter but on his pressure I narrated him the whole scene . he was infact laughing on the situation. I slightly hit him on his arm , yahan main soch kar pagal ho rahi hoon aur tu hass raha hai , kaisa dost hai tu.i said annoyingly. I got more annoyed .i stamped my foot and turn to leave when with a hush rahul came in front of me and stopped me. I was still tensed . okay I tell you something that might cheer you up , sameer sir was disussing with pankaj sir ( other senior chef) that germans have appreciated our food , and un dono firangi bhaiyon ko teri desert section bahut pasand aaya tha . really I asked excitingly . yes .ab khush . chal kam karte hain warna senior chef kahenge ki hum log kuch kam nahi karte " I smiled on him and started my work trying to forget what just happened .

It was 6 pm I was leaving for my home when my phone ring and I was bit surprised to see the caller id it was shaurya khanna, I was hesitant to pick his number . I was thinking why is he calling me in that mean time call was missed . For two minutes I was in that confusion only that why did that saduu kumar is calling me all of sudden .already I am in a big mess because of him now what he wants from me. While I was thinking this all my phone again ringed with same caller ID. "Kya karun uthao ki nahi again the call was missed . " hey bhagwan phir se call miss ho gayi , kya karun, call back karun " nahi mehek kabhi nahi , kaam hoga toh khud call karega "

Again my phone ringed for the third time and again it was him. " Isse pehle ki ye call kate, uthale mehek. I picked up the call . last time apne hearing sense kab check karwaye the , jo isse pehle ki do call nahi suni he lashes out before I could even say something . " grrr , where are you " he shouted on phone. I got little scared " okay come to canot place I will meet you there ( public main dara bhi nahi payega) I thought . " okay see you in 10 minutes he said and hanged up . I started my scooty and headed towards CP.

After 10 minutes I was standing near parking area and I called him , kahan ho tum, " I asked.

" yaad nahi aa raha , don't't worry I will make you remember . when rajiv sir brought you to rattan chacha's dhaba and I served you salty dal and you left from there with a bad mood . when I realized that it was my fault only as I served you bad taste ,I decided to say sorry with a thought that might my good food will brighten your mood, for which I came to your restaurant. but you without listening to me once, asked me to leave .sorry. actually you asked me to get out threatening me about the police near bye . that day I have prepared that same white chocolate rasmalia to say sorry to you . now I don't know how came your cheff had made a similar dish " I ventilate my mind. He was looking at my face as if trying to judge honesty of my words .

Shaurya after listening to mehek was remembering the day which mehek mentioned and he remembered his talk with rajiv where he mentioned that mehek sharma has made that dish for him to say sorry . on that very day a food critics had come to his hotel and for the first time cheff kunal has presented that dish within few minutes . still being the rationalist he was he took his phone out of his pocket and called rajiv. Mehek meanwhile was trying to read his gestures and when he took his phone and was dialing , mehek thought he was calling cops .

A panicked mehek took few steps towards shaurya and tried to stop him from doing the call " kisko call kar rahe , dekho police ko mat bulana " mehek was few inches away from shaurya. She tried to take his phone . shaurya first thought to ignore her but when she approached him he tip toed in order to make his phone out of her reach . get back ", he said irritatingly " mehek leaned more on him and now her body edges were in contact with shaurya's . in way to save his phone shaurya leanded more on car and lifted his hand up which had his phone , while the call to rajiv was still ringing . " tumhe samajh nahi aata maine bola na woh dish maine banayi thi, tum kaho toh abhi tumhe banakar dikha deti hoon , police ko kyun bula rahe ho " said a afraid mehek while leaning more in order to snatch his phone . in those few seconds shuarya realized his proximity with mehek . her fingers were touching his hand and her hairs were falling on her face , few times his abdomen was touching hers and his eyes were observing her features forgetting the surrounding .

hello , yes shaurya bolo " rajiv voice from phone got their attention . mehek looked at the phone and after listening to rajiv's voice she was cleared that shaurya had called rajiv not the cops , taking a sigh of calmness she faced shaurya who was still looking at her, which made mehek aware of her physical closeness to shaurya . she immediately stepped back and campose herself but was unable to meet his eyes. Shaurya rajiv do you remember that day about 10 months back when food critic came to our hotel and you later informed me that on that very day miss Sharma had come to our hotel with a dish.

" kya hua mila jawab . shaurya was deciding what to say . as now since he knows from his sources that germans had appreciated that particular dish more than the same desert served in his presentation . " dusro ko blame karne se pehle , get your facts and figures cleared " mehek taunted him . mehek comment raised shaurya temper he stepped towards mehek which scared mehek and she stepped back as he started approaching her zada hawa main udne ki zarurrat nahi hai miss Sharma , tumhari ek dish mera kuch nahi bigad sakti . got it. Shaurya Said in harshed tone and turned to leave . mehek mouth was left opened and she wanted to say something to him in return for which she took few steps to him and to her sudden shaurya turned towards her and in that process both bumped into each other . "ouch both said at same time while mehek was rubbing her forehead and shaurya was slightly pressing his right shoulder where her head hit. Both were about to attack each other with words when mehek phone beeped and she answered the call still rubbing her head , haan chachi . shaurya decided to leave from there and went to his car . "haan chachi who traffic main phas gayi thi " shaurya heard mehek while sitting in his car . Bas 20 minute main aa rahi hoon. Okay bye Said mehek while starting her scooty . she placed her phone in her bag and within two seconds walked out from there . shaurya too moved his car and went out from parking .

Mehek reached her home and with heavy heart faked about delhi traffic as reason for her being late. Her family asked about her presentation and she informed that germans liked their food and the result of merger will be out by three days . after chit chatting with her family she went to her room. she opened her lappy with wish that her friend KK is online but to her disappointment he was not . she changed her clothes and went to bed as she was tired from todays hectic schedule . when she closed her eyes flashback of her meeting with shaurya came in his mind . she tried to ignore it and attempt to sleep but her todays rift with shaurya was disturbing her a lot . she was tossing and turning . why he always accuse her . getting drench in his thought she tried to distract her mind . getting failed she got up " yeh lamboo dariyal toh picha hi nahi chod raha , khuli aanhkon main bhi dimag par chaya hua hai , kya karun is frustration ko out karne ke liye " she said to herself . " kitna kuch kehna tha use , kitna kuch sunna tha, bas chachi ka phone aa gaya warna , warna " she Said full full anger . " idea. Sonal ka funda use karti hoon . galiya nikalti hoon use pakka acha feel karungi is baar toh non veg hi nikalungi said mehek .

" Shaurya khanna kutta , shaurya khanna kamina , shaurya khanna rakshas mehak said with a feeling of satisfaction and big smile. Yes acha lag raha hai " she said while nodding her head and with full cheer she laid down as now with a free heart she could sleep.

"aah came out from shaurya mouth while he was having dinner with his maa and nanz . After dinner shaurya was in his room remembering how from mr gambhir , who is shaurya known business associate and is presently helping germans with their this venture , informed him about clashing of one of his dish with KD dish that was prepared by cheff named mehek and that germans were very impressed with their desert section . then his meeting with mehek and her taunt , her confidence on being correct , her discomfort , her leaning on him , him bumping with her . he touched his right shoulder on that thought when his phone ringed he picked his phone and answered the call " yes mr gambhir

Gambhir - shaurya good news , germans have showed a positive response towards your proposal. They are highly impressed by your location of hotel , promotional stratergies, And food. about 70 % the ball is in your court

Shaurya had a big smile on his face after listening to mr gambhir

Gambhir - your only competition is KD that too because germans liked their food a lot specially their desert section as I told you earlier too .BTW did you found how one of yours desert dish was similar with KD's .
