Afzal: Mein sudhar nahi sakta. Mein sudhar jaoonga to tum tars khaogi mujh per. Us gali se guzarna parega jahan se roz uski gaari guzarti hai. Masjid namaz parhnay jaoonga to Abba dua lambi kar deingay. Darr jayengay ke jab bhi namaz parhta hai koi waardaat karta hai.

Arifa: Waardaat kisko kehtay ho?

Afzal: Meri to muhabbat bhi waardaat ki tarah hai. Lagta hai koi baraa gunah kia hai meinay. Tumharay samnay bhi sharminda hun. Aur sochta hun agar woh samnay aa gai, to sharam se mar hi jaoonga.

Arifa doesn't realize it but I feel Afzal is actually telling her he is leaving Hyderabad. He is talking about everything that might happen if he stayed in the city. And while she doesn't realize, on the other hand, someone else fears all this, and she happens to be none other than Farah herself! One wouldn't expect her to know all this but I feel it's because she is the one directly affected by all that Afzal does, and it was her he was looking at while she visited his house. She said she saw him cry, but she felt it wasn't because he was ashamed. It felt to her as if he believed it was him who was being wronged.

"Daray ga woh, ke kaheen mujhse samna na ho jaye. Woh Hyderabad chhor ke chala jayega. Mera dil keh raha hai, Lubna. Chhor kar chala jayega sab ko. Aur agar nahi gaya to keh dena, jhooton mein sab se jhoota Farah Ibrahim ka dil hai. Eik number ka jhoota."

I found Babloo's dialogue funny when Afzal asks him to pick him up later that night... "Eik to tu ne yeh gunzaish pata nahi kaha se seekh lia hai. Ab har kaam mein teray paas gunzaish hi nahi hoti!" 😆

It was very sweet of Moulvi sahab to sing to his wife and make her laugh, just so she'll stop worrying about Afzal and go to sleep. And she pretended to sleep to make him feel he was successful. ❤️

At Farah's home, her mother has realized that Farah may have feelings for Afzal. She informs of this to her husband when he refuses to send Farah alone to London for further studies.

"Jaanay dein usko. Ab woh akeli nahi hai. Larki jab kisi ke baray mein sochnay lagti hai to woh akeli nahi hoti."

On the other hand, Farah is adamant that Afzal is going to leave that night.

Lubna: Agar tumhari baat sach nikli na, to saari umar tumse dum karwaya karoongi, aur tum se taveez banwaya karoongi. 😆

It's clear Farah knows him way better than she lets others know. Better than most of them anyway.

And she is right. Later that night, Afzal quietly walks down the stairs with his shoes and bag in hand, and walks over to stand outside his parents' room. Touching the door, he kneels down to caress his father's slippers, and then touches his hand to his lips. He then gets up, and walks towards the door. But before going out he halts, looks back at his house as if to commit it to memory, looks up towards Arifa's room for a final good bye, and then finally turns around and leaves.

Yes! That's why he writes...See? this is another example of things I figured out thanks to you!

I didn't complete the sentence but happy that you figured what I was trying to say 😉😆 and I realized that when you mentioned how he couldn't tell his friends or family anything about Farah 😉

Oh yeah, third watch lol... the first time I was way too curious to know what's gonna happen next to be focusing on any subtleties or characters. The plot gets very engaging after midway point and you just wanna know what's next. And during the second watch, I started noticing these little things because it helped to know the ending. Once you know what each character is going to do in the future, it's easier to analyze their present action. Then again I saw it in bits and pieces on Youtube when they had good print. And now on Zindagi again.. 😆
And btw, you're doing a pretty good job at getting your PHD in it too.. you're surely taking a very scholarly interest in it now 🤓😆

And agreed, Yasmeen was a blast of fresh air! 😉

Yes I am 😆 Because finally I have people to discuss it with 😃 Yasmeen was the sahi patakha type and Afzal deals with her so differently as well, ussi kay hisaab se 😆

And yeah, that's the main reason... people are in love with Afzal and connect to him on a deeper level and that's why they hate Farah so much more. Plus, Hamza being good looking doesn't help either 😆 Most of the haters are girls and for obvious reasons 😆 I don't think Afzal would have garnered the same amount of sympathy had it been played by a Humayun Saeed or say, Adnan Siddiqui (honest opinion).

I agree with your honest opinion 😳 There is something about Hamza playing Afzal that tugs at your heart strings warna koi male character itna rota tou I would've found him a wimp 😆

I started watching it for Fawad too when it first aired but then pretty much all characters grew on me. It's hilarious! 😃 But I never finished it because I got used to the continuous fun in it but then like all Pakistani dramas, it got a bit serious towards the end. Don't know why they do that. Same happened with Aunn Zara. They should try making a comedy show of this caliber without halting the comic flow towards the end. Well, let's see if I can finish the show this time.

SAME HERE! 😕 It's so annoying! I never finished Aunn Zara either 🤔 But I guess I will finish this one, Fawad hai na 😆 Not that OKB isn't hot 😉😃
