With pak shows too,I have rarely found a good female lead. Kashaf no wonder became an instant favourite. She was flawed, but had good principles and didn't go about her self-righteousness without having a valid reason.

I like flawed characters, but Farah is border-line obnoxious. I think people always get the wrong idea of Feminism. Degrading the male in order to upgrade female is absolutely wrong.

I think I like Lubna better. But all this whacked out ideas come from her mouth. So Idk what to think.

Arifa I like. Her character makes sense to me.

I would have liked Farah and Lubna and even their stupid plan if only they hadn't been so selfish. I guess they're just stupid though. Not really selfish.

I dunno why female characters are almost always badly written.

I dont really dislike Farah or Lubna. I find the plot points in the screen play unconvincing. There is no justification really to start with their romance charade because their parents seem sensible people.

Their parents are sensible and they fixed Farah and mehtaab date with Farah's wish after date fixing she tried to break relationship without valid reason that's why she make that fake reason because Farah parents emotionally aur strictly blackmail her and doing her marriage with mehtaab because there is no major reason to break relationship ...

I don't know how I feel about Farah. I do like grey shaded characters but Farah seems just too selfish. And when in yesterday's episode she said "Kambakht ne nas puri tarah se kati hi nahi" I was like wth did she just say?😕 Mehtab could've died and she thinks it's cute when somebody slit their wrists for someone in the name of love.

When I said I liked Farah's character, I didn't mean her human character. I actually detest such people in real life. I meant the character as it was written, because it's very rare to see such characters as leads. This is not some evil plotting phuppi aur saas aur bhabhi out to get the masoom female lead. She is the female lead herself, and that too in a romantic drama. The fascinating thing about Farah's character is how she hooks you and how the whole plot of the drama depends on what she is about to do next. She controls so many lives. And you can never put her in one bracket of either white or black. She is a grey character, albeit a very dark shade of grey 😆
As soon as you are about to put her permanently in a villain bracket with the likes of Mogambo and Noori Nath, she shows you a flash of humanity. And she gives you hope that she is about to change. And you are hooked, waiting anxiously for that change. Whether that comes or not, I wouldn't say at this point 😉

Usually, in dramas or films, characters shown with a huge ego undergo a sudden change of heart, that may be ignited by an event or an emotional appeal from someone else. But Farah's character is very close to how people with such huge egos actually go about their business. They ruin other people's lives and most of all, they ruin their own. And it's a long, slow, frustrating process. And usually by the time they actually learn to control or give in to their egos, it's usually very late. That's why such people end up alone in later years in real lives, whether physically or emotionally. I loved how KRQ kept all this in mind while sketching out Farah.

Agreed about Lubna. I like her better than Farah too. But what I find most frustrating about her is how she gets easily manipulated by Farah.

I dont think feminism is involved in what Farah does here. If sh were a guy and Afzal a girl, and such a situation arose, I think she still would have used him the same way. It's her nature. Haan, what Miss Rosie did was definitely exploiting the notion of feminism.

Yeah she has a very non-serious attitude to some VERY serious stuff.

Actually, that's what I felt too while I was watching this drama. I was like, Is she really the heroine? Are you sure? Pakka yeh villain nahi hai? Maybe Lubna is the main heroine, or the girl who writes the letters, and Farah is the villain, a la Farida in Humsafar 😆
But wherever I looked, at the promos of the drama, interviews, posters.. they all showed Farah as the romantic lead. Though I understood it later when I finished the drama as to why they'd do that. Farah was the main heroine because Afzal made her so.

I agree with you there 👍🏼 When I say I like Farah's character, I don't mean that I like her as a person but the fact that such a person is portrayed as the lead, which I might add is something that VERY rarely happens. People like Farah do exist but never are they portrayed as leads. To watch a person like her as the center is engaging 😳

Kashaf was different. She was a character that you develop a lot of respect for as the serial progresses but Farah isn't like that. She isn't meant to be loved that way. Love karnay kay liay we have Afzal na ❤️

I would not say that she has been written badly, rather she has been written this way with a lot of thought, I feel. And no where do you see KRQ is defending her badtameez nature. In fact he highlights it with her contempt for Mehtab's suicide attempt and stuff
