I was just thinking that Farah must have come as such a shocking surprise to the Indian audience who are so used to perfect, holier-than-thou type females as leads 😕
Think about it, Farah sets such a bad example for young girls 😆 But then I believe her parents are to be blamed for that too. Unlike Moulvi Sahib's family, they have no real interaction with their daughters except giving them orders and asking them stuff like inquiring Farah about Afzal. In other words, bus kaam ki baatein hi hoti hain. The parents are completely oblivious to their daughter's antics. On top of that surely they must realize how immature Farah is but phir bhi bank accounts bhar diay hain dono larkiyon kay and no check on how they spend the money. No wonder she has turned out the way she has and thinks everyone is below her 😒
Yeah, that's what happens when parents dont give time to their kids and out of guilt, try to fill that void with money. There is obviously no check on where that money goes since they can give it away to someone like Afzal to play a part in their plotting, and arent afraid of anyone finding out, and farah's comments like, "3-4 lakh to mein apnay ooper se waar ke phenk deti hun"..
While Lubna is relatively better, Farah takes the cake. In fact, she actually uses Lubna too. All that, "Meray liye aaj raat jaag nahi sakti?" and "Eik din aur chhutti kar lo university se, mujhe tumhari zarurat hai." And no one stops her. Probably that's why she doesn't care or worry about what effect her plotting is taking on Afzal, or anyone else around her for that matter. Even though Afzal is the main character of the show, farah pretty much controls him. So she herself is very central to whatever happens later. Actually, all these little things that we are finding annoying about her right now lay a foundation for what she will be doing later (i wont give away spoilers yet).
But there is a reason why so much time and script is devoted to these two. KRQ's characterization is perfect here. I remember someone mentioning here earlier that too much time is given to these two. I think it helps. The audience is so frustrated and annoyed with these two that when later Farah does whatever she does people go like, "Haan is se yahi umeed thi" 😆
It will give the viewers a better understanding of why she does the things she does later on, without going, "How can anyone do that?!"
And I think despite everything, she does have a good heart. Because whenever anyone shames her, she does feel bad, and tries to make amends. But she is too stubborn and in a fight between her stubbornness and her good heart, the former wins.
Even though i hate what farah does throughout, i actually find her character to be very fascinating. We dont come across such characters in mainstream dramas/movies very often.
