episode 15 and Asher Khirad meeting face to face after that dreadful day reminds me of one of my most favourite songs- NOW YOU ARE JUST SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW.
two people who loved each other deeply once now stands estranged feeling betrayed, and their paradise had been turned into hell long time back. They live in their individual hell with belonging to no lover. So when finally Asher said come in and khirad walked in, and first eye contacts were made, I guess both only remebered the last 4 years of living in hell being wronged by each other. we say people change with time, that's why we saw Asher and Khirad two chenaged person , one is defeated, depressed, and just breathing to survive and escaping his hell , whereas another tried to get out of hell with the help of her only possession- the child and that made her feisty, rigid and aggressive to protect the treasure of her life. but does memories change too with time? NO NEVER. that's why though both looked changed as personalities, they remain same at some emotional level.
coming to the office scene, I think that's is one of the best enacted scene and directed scene of the series. The execution, the treatment, the props and the actors were par excellence. The way Asher's emotions changed from anger to frustration to arrogance to confusion to anticipation to denial to finally sinking in feeling that what his cheat wife just uttered, were brilliantly shot. in contrast to so many emotions expressed by the man, the woman looked cold like ice , having nerve of steel, making silence her weapon and indifference her strength, spoke conveyed what she wanted to say as nothing , absolutely nothing mattered to mother khirad. Not even her self respect and she chose ignorance for her husband when he shout- GET OUT. The little pause there was a brilliant piece of direction imo showing she needed a moment to take that in and react appropriately for her child. I loved loved loved that part. another marvellous addition was that burning cigarette which was used as prop with changing emotions of Asher. I am not saying smoking should be promoted, but the whole set up and execution took the cake for me. one reviewer described this scne as interaction between FIRE AND ICE and I fully agree with that.
Khirad the mother and Khirad the woman and her conflict were shown well too. but as her friend said, that I guess at that point of time, nothing mattered anymore, only harem's life did. and motherhood I suppose makes you selfless if that means giving up self respect too. But I would have preferred if she chose some other way rather than going to Asher.
he chose negligence once so I think he should have got that life long negligence too. Sorry my pov. But I know I guess khirad did not have any other options left.
there was a storm inside Asher's life of hell, where only questions were being asked, and conflicting answers and echoing words of his betrayer wife said that he had his child somewhere. his lonely life which was so guarded and in a closed for these long years were asking to get out and see what if the truth told to him is valid or not. but his hell is already filled with so much doubts and bitterness and that it took time to get out and assess. A typical Asher reaction I guess. He remain indecisive mostly in the series.
khirad expecting Asher to respond and getting disappointed was obvious. as she said main ek aise aadmi ko aajmane chali thi jo aazmaya huya tha. I guess that's calld expectations. we know that we may return empty handed but still we expect for miracles, for changed opinions and for wait. I like the scene because of showing normal human nature.
last scene must be the most adorable yet heart warming scene, the moment Hareem says aap who picture wale papa hai na, Asher's life of hell filled with conflicting questions gets an outlet to get out and feel the life again. she belonged to him , and her hug made Asher break his guardedness too imo and the way he hugged her tightly. No more questions being asked now, answer is in his arms. It is really heart warming to see the kid identifying her father whom she never saw. and khirad snatching her away made Asher broken too as if hi life again was going into darkness, the expressions were perfectly portrayed. I only felt pity for the man who never knew that what he was missing in life and living in solitude.
Last convo between Asher Khirad and Asher bragging meri beti make me irriated, so no comments. I mean seriously Asher? My pov strictly, So asher fans mujhe maaf karo. He looked like a hypocrite claiming that his daughter was kept away from him for years. I mean how was she supposed to enter whenyou shut every door to yourself for your wife? you chose despair over putting effort to make things right for once and now saying that you hated your wife? wow , she hated you too for those emotional abuses and that's why she repeated tht the daughter was hers only, so back off.
sara, fareeda and others- meh, whatever. Fareeda stay away from your son so that he can live.
from performace point of view, Fawad Afzal Khan take a bow for that office scne. the way you portrayed that 3 minute scene with those range of emotions, you were beyond perfection. I know I have said this many times but will say gain, its not your charming looks that make me admire you, but your impeccable acting skills does. how do you do that FK? 👏👏👏
Mahira was good too, but let me say, she was surely overshadowed by Fk. No offence to her fans. another thing her crying scnes are very tiring and repetitive and emotionally draining. and I loved the kid interaction with mother, cute.
lastly with this starts the journey of parenthood of an ailing daughter for estranged partners and looking forward to it though I have seen it many times. and sorry for this long para.
