I guess the little child was not getting the frenzy around his beloved father and thus was saying that its not his baba. aww. but it looks like the son really missed the father a lot for couple of months, every pic he is holding his hand and clinging onto him. few emotions are way too pure and adorable. God bless the family and hope they have a long vacation soon. 😊

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan's Khoobsurat impresses the audience in Pakistan!

While Sonam's film is faring well in Pakistan, Parineeti's Daawat-e-Ishq is far behind in the race

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan's Khoobsurat is struggling to impress the Indian audience, however, the film is doing extremely well in Pakistan. As per an entertainment portal, Khoobsurat produced by Anil Kapoor has collected more than Rs 10 million on its opening day while Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra's Daawat-e-Ishq has minted only Rs 4 million.

International Multi Group of Companies Chairman Sheikh Amjad Rashid said to an entertainment portal, Khoobsurat has beaten all previous financial records. It is comparable with any big-budgeted Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan movie. It has done better business than Daawat-e-Ishq."

With such a fabulous response to the film on its opening day, it is expected to do even better in the coming days as many shows have already been pre-booked. The last film that made humungous business in the neighboring country was Salman Khan's Kick which made Rs 20.8 million in one day. We wonder if Sonam's film will be able to beat the Dabangg Khan's record in Pakistan

'Khoobsurat' box office collections: Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan ink a first in Pakistan, beat Salman Khan, SRK

PTI | Karachi | Updated: Sep 23 2014, 11:39 IST
Sonam Kapoor's 'Khoobsurat' is one up on Shahrukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' and Salman Khan's 'Kick'. (Bollywood Hungama)

Pakistanis have responded enthusiastically to the Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan starrer 'Khoobsurat' which has garnered Rs 30 million in box office collections in the first three days of screening in the country.

Amjad Rasheed who owns the IMGC entertainment company said the response has been outstanding.

'Khoobsurat' has done extremely well in terms of box office collections compared to the other Bollywood release 'Dawaat-e-Ishq', starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra.

"No film has ever made Rs 10 million on a non-holiday weekday and this is the first time this has ever happened," he said.

He pointed out the highest grossing films in Pakistan including Shahrukh Khan's 'Chennai Express', Salman Khan's 'Kick' and 'Waar' were all released on Eid holidays.

The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of popular Pakistani television star Fawad Khan, was released on 46 screens across the country.

Nadeem Mandviwalla, founder of film distributing company Mandviwalla Entertainment, said 'Khubsoorat' had not only outdone 'Dawaat-e-Ishq' but also Pakistani film 'Dukhtar'.

'Khubsoorat' had such a high demand that most of the cinema halls, multiplexes and cineplexes are running extra screenings, he said adding some theatres are running five to six shows a day.

Nadeem said the film's success could be attributed to Fawad Khan who has a star power in the country.

Next film a Pakistani production: Fawad Khan

Wednesday, 24 September 2014 - 6:30am IST | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA
Fawad Khan says he will try to do at least one film on both side of border

Fawad Khan, who has wowed the audiences with his big screen debut in Khoobsurat opposite Sonam Kapoor, is basking in the recognition and adoration for his performance, but is not in a hurry to sign his next film. And if you loved his beard in the film, here's some bad news girls. He is all set to shave it off. He says, "Well, sorry if this hurts my audience. But the beard will go off. It must go off. I can't keep it on much longer."

The actor is planning to work on a new look and also gain some muscle. He confirms, "I am trying to take on a completely new look. I was also much heftier than I look now. Then I lost a lot of weight. I have to gain a bit of weight now." He is happy that he has been welcomed by the audiences on this side of the border. "To be honest, I never expected much. But the kind of respect, hospitality, warmth and love I got from the Khoobsurat team was more than enough for me. The rest was all a bonus," he adds.

But he ain't planning to move to India for a film career. "I wish I could. But right now I need to return to Pakistan to arrange few screenings of Khoobsurat. They did have a small premiere in Pakistan but nothing beyond that. I better get back home before I am bashed up (laughs)." At the moment his career as an actor is taking off in a big way. Is it really wise to return home? He shrugs, "You think so? But I can't stay put in one space. I get restless."

Any plans for another Bollywood film soon? "Yes, I am in talks. It would be something very different from Khoobsurat. I'd love to manage at least one project on both sides of the border next year. My friends in Pakistan and I are trying to put together a Pak-Indian project with Indian talent. We are looking forward to a collaboration. But this time it'd be a Pakistani production."

Fawad is always so non-committal about his plans. Anyways I am glad he will put on some weight. He needs fuller cheeks. Glad we fattened him a bit before sending him back home. 😆
