Why did you think that of the direction and screenplay? Would like to hear more on your POV.Its interesting to see how different people see the same thing and come out with different feelings.I for one, just loved it. There were some flaws in the screenplay, but the whole product finally, made up for it. Some things I liked:I really loved the voice overs reading the thoughts aloud. I was happy that they did that so that there was no scope for ay ambiguity. I also think this comes from the fact that I like things really clear. Specially in a romance story which has Fawad.I thought the miss-kiss was shot beautifully. It was there, leaving one wanting to see more, but gave the whole scene without showing details. As much has Kiron Kher has been typecast in this kind of role, her moments brought the loudest laughs in the hall.Ratna Pathak was superb as Ranisa. And these are just a few among a long list of other stuff.
Some instances where good like that kiss was done nicely but again u don't get full impact of Milli and Vikram romance because they don't naturally ease into the romance. I think editing, direction and screenplay was very weak.
I agree the last part scene where Vikram asks Manju permission to marry Milli was probably the best part of the film.
But the first half is so bad that I remember the people who where sitting next to me a group of young boys and girls where like oh God what have we got into and saying isse acha toh Dawaat E IShq Hota or Maze runner hota and they where cursing girls for forcing them to watch the film. I suspect fawad was the reason for that most girls came to watch for him.
The movie picks up only in the second half but the truth is some people might get so put off by the first half that they might just decide to leave the movie hall and not come back for teh second half. Even I felt worn but by the first half. But the end did leave a decent impact. So overall movie could have been much better had the direction been top notch. Characters are not developed fully and even with good actors movie does not live up. Just my POV again.
