After the misfortune I brought upon my family by asking them to accompany me to watch Aisha three years ago, I was reluctant to even acknowledge Sonam's presence today. Her screechy and mundane dialogues were hard to endure. The whole time, I was imagining how good pre-lipjob Anushka Sharma would have portrayed Mili. A movie centered around her character, and she seemed the most forced into it. I am sure Mili wasn't conceived as a character even half as bad as what Sonam perceived it to be. Ugh!
Her garish outfits were another eyesore. I wish the director had summoned a better designer for Sonam. Feisty doesn't mean one has to look like a complete droll.
Anyway, the good bits:
Fawad Khan: ABSOLUTE STUNNER! I really hope he overstays his work VISA in India, and teaches our so-called leading men in Bollywood a thing or two. I am wondering if anyone else could have done this better. That's how you play a classy snob! 😆
Ratna Pathak Shah: If I would have walked into Rani Sa, I swear I would have stood convinced that she is real royalty. What poise, I tell you. I envy her persona.
Aamir Raza: Nuanced performance. Taang adana koi inse seekhe. 👏
Music: Sneha Khanwalkar is one of the trippiest composers in India. Her music blended very well with the screenplay.
Bad Bits:
I have mentioned one already. 😆
Kirron Kher: Apparently, the funniest one in the movie, but her over-the-top histrionics were barf-inducing.
Screenplay : So predictable! There could have been some sort of twist. Am I asking for too much if I ask for just one?
What did you guys think?
