I watched episode twice for it to finally sink in, and would have posted long back but my laptop is a sucker and it just would not start. I see a lot has been written already but there are still a few things will like to write.
We can today see just a little trace of the impeding storm, and I don't even want to imagine what will happen once the final blow strikes. *shudders*
Coming to the episode, it was a let down for me in some areas.
The beginning was very promising, with Khirad's pregnancy at time of Ashar's irrational jealousy. And there was this beautifully enacted and directed scene of Ashar where he reflects upon all that has been bothering him. We got to see some intense expressions, piercing eyes and birlliant romancing of the camera by Fawad. Especailly the eye shot, it was a master stroke. 👏
Also, I loved how Khirad's character unfolded in the episode. From her being a little perturbed at Asahr nor picking her up from the party, to her being shocked and uncomfortable at his sudden anger which was foreign to her, to her desperate yet failed attempts to communicate with Ashar and finally to her being distraught at his icy behavior and claiming her right to at least be aware of her fault- the shades unfolded really beautifully and I think Mahira was absolutely amazing today as a unsuspecting and devoid wife. 👏
However, what the episode incredibly lacked was the much needed portrayal of Ashar's point of view. Unlike Khirad's character, whose feelings were expressed through voice overs. viewers were given no sneak peak inside Ashar's head. It was like a dark alley, where we had no first hand information of why he was doing what he was doing. I really longed for some little vice over which expressed his side of turmoil. Though Fawad was brilliant with his expressions, we really needed some diction to his thoughts. That is the only complain I have with the episode.
Two nuances of the episode I loved:
One, Khirad opening her hair as soon as she heard the arrival of Ashar's car.
Two, Khirad complimenting Ashar's looks, very unlike her usual self.
One more point. I read and heard many people saying why the hell Ashar is not communicating. What I inferred was that the male ego is stopping him. He feels it to be inappropriate of him to talk to his wife of such insecurities where she is not even at the tiniest fault, as he is supposed to be the mature and guiding force in their relation. And so he just resorts to silent treatment, maybe buying time to let the turmoil inside him calm down. Here is the problem, we are all interpreting Ashar's stance as the episode lacked to show a clear point of view from Ashar's side.
Coming to Sara and Khizar, they both are very similar, in love with the wrong person, and in love fanatically. Both are just a pain in the ass.
The precap looks terrible, and I know things are to only get worse. The only good thing the upcoming episodes will bring is some brilliant acting by FK and Mahira. Not exactly looking forward, but yea.
