Thank you, my pet. You are one of the few bright spots for me here! I am beginning to feel like the TRPs for Yudh, and at times I feel it is just not worth it to spend 3 hours plus every day on a post that hardly anyone seems to read. By the time you come back next week, I just might have stopped writing these posts, at least that is how I feel right now.

Your spirited defence of our JA forum no shows did not cut much ice with me. 10:30 pm is not too late, and most of them watch everything online anyway. The thing is that they really, secretly, are quite ok with what is dished out to them in Jodha Akbar, and most of the constant complaints are merely proforma. If they had such an ardent desire to watch good TV, they would make an effort to take in the just 20 episodes of Yudh. If your sole criterion for watchin a show is that you should not feel at sea even if you skip 20 episodes, then why complain about the JA CVs? They are at least honest about their rationale; they dish out what sells and they know their onions.

But when intelligent viewers say that they are oh so disappointed with Jodha Akbar, and then in the same breath say that they have no time for a Yudh, I can draw only one conclusion. Jodha Akbar and they deserve each other. Next time I read one more complaint about the JA CVs, I am going to let the complainer have it with both barrels.

You are perhaps a bit off in some of the points you have made in the other post here, probably because you have been unable to watch it again. That happened to me with Episode 1.

As far as I remember, and I shall check this point by watching the Thursday episode again, Anand makes that remark about Dil jeetna for Taruni, not for Rishi, that she might not know anything about business, but she knows how to win hearts.

Also, there is no question of that Gopal having been behind any 20 crore demand. No such demand was made as yet by the Naxals, and in any case, Gopal, who has to live and survive amidst them, would never tell such a whopper of a lie. A little skimming, some percentage off from the ransom, yes, not a wholesale lie like this one.

The 20 crore lie is Yudh's idea. The real rescuers of Rishi, the two adivasi boys, cannot be exposed, as the Naxals would kill them in revenge the very next day. They debate the option of making Rishi the hero who saved himself, but them too many uncomfortable questions from the press would have to be answered, so that is discarded. They cannot credit the police with the rescue as the police would be asked why they then did not capture any of the Naxals.

So finally, Yudh decides to say that he DID pay a huge ransom, reasoning that the Naxals would want to save face and not let it be said that an inexperienced young man escaped from them, and so they would keep quiet and not contradict him.

He reckons without the Gopal angle, that is all. Even earlier, the police officer warns him that this move could backfire.

My dear, Dr. Ganatra might not have specifically mentioned a fatal outcome, but he does say that the disease would progressively destroy every organ in the body. What does that mean? Don't tell me the vultures in the press would not have zoomed in on that?

Yes, the placing of the medical report stolen from Dr. Mehra's crashed car on Yudh's desk for Taruni to find raises many questions.

1) How did that person know that Taruni was going to come there then? He/she must have been right there in the office to be able to do it.
2) How did he/she know that Yudh had told Cindy to ask Taruni to look at some of the files on his desk? If he had not said that, Taruni would never have gone near his desk at all, not to speak of reading any of the files there. Now this means that the either the file was put there by Cindy, or by someone who heard her tell Taruni that her father had wanted her to look at the files. I would plump for Cindy.

I have not seen the TRP video, but who on earth is this Priya? There is no Priya in the story so far.

Take care, my pet, and have a good time wherever it is that you are going next week.

Mandy dearest,

I was worried to hear about your father, and it is a relief to know that there was nothing wrong and that he is back home.My mother has been a sufferer from severe congestive heart failure for the past 3 years, so I know how it feels.

Do take a look at my response to Sandhya above, both about Yudh and about our JA forum no shows. And I hope you liked my take on the Joker's geet that I had included in this post, specially for you.

Love.

Shyamala

Thank you, my little Mishti. It is always good to hear from you. I have not yet written my post on the Thursday episode, perhaps tomorrow.

I agree with all your comments below, especially the ones about Rishi. He is an unusual and delightful character, not at all the kind of stereotype he would have become in the hands of lesser writers. I loved the way he carries himself in captivity. And I agree with you about Taruni as well.

I too cannot quite see how all the angles that have been touched upon could be sorted out in just 12 more episodes. Let us see.

Do take a look at my response above to Sandhya's 2 posts on this thread. It will interest you.

I have not seen any of this week's JA episodes so far, perhaps tomorrow. I will then send you my take on the scenes you have mentioned. But you know,my dear, I have lost interest in JA by now, and not because of Yudh. It is just not worth analysing or even watching, and even Rajat is beginning to slip badly. At this rate, in 3 months more, he would have forgotten how to act. It is such a pity, and such a waste of great talent and greater potential.

Thanks for the PM Aunty, and yes, again a fabulous piece of writing.

Also take my congratulations Aunty, your predictions are coming true...somewhere, sometimes😆

For me tonight's episode was like nehale pe dehala...one move of Yudh and next of naxals, mainly the name sake negotiator...twice.
Yudh is trying very hard not to be overpowered and subdued by naxals and petty politicians threats and mind games.
The terrain is unfamiliar for Yudh and his associates, which is a major drawback...they need to learn themselves about the area, its locales, then they can deal with prevalent system there.
But Rishi has innocence in him, a trait from his mother, I don't think he can sustain and play diplomacy ...he certainly can win hearts with his caring, loving attitude but business needs more than that...Taruni has got both, innate goodness and razor sharp, intelligent mind, it's just that she doesn't believe in the way businesses work...or because she has got a certain lifestyle, content and happy zone, which she doesn't want to leave...and why should she??? She does know the answer and probably its possible repercussions.

Felt good to see Nayan behaving well with Taruni, being away from Ranjan does some good.

Taruni is such a dedicated and alert doctor...she immediately gauged Yudh's state and too him inside 👏 Also at the blast site she immediately involved herself in the field she's best at.
One trait in her personality...she is always in command of the situation and focused in her work she does in the moment...inherited, of course from her father.

This story will finish in 20 episodes...but there are many undercurrent emotions, which will remain just that...each capable of telling and blooming into a story of their own.

*Aunty, I know its different forum, also don't know if you are watching JA, wanted to know about your take on tonight's Ruqaiya-Jalal scene and Ruqaiya's ending scene...would love to read a different / your perspective...The former was quite moving one, I loved it and later, I know was sympathetic, Lavina was brilliant, but I was unmoved by Ruqaiya, the character...somewhere down the line with all her innate thoughts and external portrayal...I now remain unaffected by genuineness, or lack of it, of her emotions.*

You could give weekend posts aunty and comment in between as you did with JA later on.

Aunty, JA did have 100 brilliant episodes and it became a habit and habits are hard to break. Moreover the group was snugly fit in JA forum and many continue to watch JA to keep in touch with the group and enjoy the cracks. Don't know if you have seen Harry bird's 'different avatars of Jallu'. To just enjoy the likes of these JA is followed. Even when we relocated to dhwani not many were comfortable. Now that you hardly visit dhwani ja forum participation there has waned. So the forum/friends attracts more than the serial.

I didn't rewatch. But I thought it was in praise of Rishi.

But Gopal does tell that the demand has been increased. The naxals want their set of demands and 20 crores. To which Yudh and Anand have a discussion and Yudh agrees to any one demand. Yudh then decides on the 20 crore story at the police station. Since the naxals are not shown to make the demand I thought Gopal was a black sheep.

Cindy or the cleaning boy.

I have not seen the TRP video, but who on earth is this Priya? There is no Priya in the story so far.

Okay then. What is the name of Anand's wife? I thought it was Priya. Ok. It is Preeti . She was gagged and in tears. Don't know if her son does it or MM 's men.

Take care, my pet, and have a good time wherever it is that you are going next week.

Thanks Aunty.😊

Thanks a lot, my dear Ela, for liking this one so much, and even more so for being there with me and the (alas, very few) others on this 20 episode journey.

I agree with you in toto about Rishi - he is a refreshingly hatke character who evades all possible stereotypes, and his future evolution is sure to be fascinating. I loved the way in which he coped with captivity and captors alike. No, I am sure he will not blame Yudh for his having been kidnapped; it was his fault for having gone with those children after dark, that too with no security.

I am also with you about Taruni and Nayantara.

Do take a look at my response above to Sandhya; there are some points about the medical report found on Yudh's desk that will interest you.

As for me, one of the most disheartening sequences in Yudh so far was the part about Mona and her brother-in-law. I was dismayed by the sheer lack of commonsense and guts even in a modern professional woman like Mona. As I had noted in this post, how did she assume that the creep would stay away for keeps? And by letting him escape punishment for his crime, she placed the other children elsewhere whom he might similarly exploit, at risk, all for her own selfish, emotional reasons.

Now that she has landed Shanti Constructions in a dangerous position, with sensitive information in Kapil's hands (one at least hopes that she has had the sense to encrypt the files, and to have a strong password for the laptop and then for the documents), what does she and what does Anand propose to do about it?

In their place, I would have asked that troubleshooter of theirs, Dabra (?) to catch Kapil, have 3 thugs crowd him, put a gun to his head and get the laptop and the mobile back. It is the only effective course of action, and it is not as though they do not use such strong arm methods; they did it with Rahul Sharma.

But as it is, Anand does not seem to be doing anything but gasp 'What?", before he is sidetracked by the Rishi kidnapping. Sad.

Shyamala lovely post...

I like you also feel that Taruni and Nayantara will start understanding each other and maybe Nayantara wont be so hostile to Taruni...but more than that I am interested in seeing how kidnapping changes Rishi? ...He , if he comes back alive wont be same person and his innocence and love for luxury will be gone...After that I want to see how his relationships shape especially with Taruni?...and does he become the son of whom Yudh will be proud of?...Or will he blame Yudh for his kidnapping, for sending him to a high security risk place?

I too was moved by Anand's wife's despair ...It was a very touching scene...

Weekend posts on 4 episodes of Yudh? You have got to be joking! And where am I to comment in between when hardly anyone seems to read the original one bar a dozen or so faithful?

Your explanations of why our young friends still flock to the JA forum only reinforces my point. They are fibbing when they say they want quality, for when quality is at hand, they will not avail of it. And if they hang around the IF JA forum for their friends, they are welcome to it. They could have brought all of them over here and had some intelligent fun here too, but no! It is too much trouble.

One thing is for sure, Sandhya, once Yudh is over, I am not coming back to Jodha Akbar, in the IF or Dhwani. Not for you or Lashy or Divya or anyone else. I am not interested in the serial at all any more, and I am not of the age to wallow in muck and tripe and still hang around forums just to giggle with friends. So come August 14, it is going to be adieu, not au revoir.

Fine fine. No sugar coat. Yes. 'We want Quality' is a high sounding catchy phrase meant to appeal. . Just like 'we are secular' 'money is not important in life'. It is gloss that sells. The demand is just for better gloss.😕

I am not surprised as I too find it difficult to sit through the half hour these days and watch it only out of habit. Even Rajat has lost his charm. 😭. But whenever there is some quality in episodes like last Thursday most of us have grown accustomed to expecting your take on it. Do drop in at Dhwani at least. Not for me not for lashy not for divya but you promised that you will stick through to the end.🤪You did. You did. You did. Anyway it will end by Oct and take a leap to Salim story as per spoilers from many sources (which has to be better handled as there is no need to appease any sena). So please stay on.

But if you are so sick of it, then, where else can we reach you?😳

shyamala dearest, you cannot leave us like that, we knew from the beginning that yudh will only attract limited people and we few are the lucky ones! did we ever expect a huge response, no! even the chugalkhor aunty says in her annoying shrill voice which is worst than jodha's bhashans that amitji tikk nahin paye tvpur ki bahuyon ke samne, and i felt like giving a tight slap on her face at least talk with some respect, we are talking about the great legend here and not some xyz actor! such is the mentality of the viewers of india, what to do?

shyamala the major problem is that for this show one needs to sit alone and watch with full concentration..just imagine when the whole family sits then there are kids crying phone ringing food cooking on stove and if they miss one dialogue or even one episode the connection is lost! and the sbs crap says one dialogue repeatedly for almost whole week, u watch them anytime the senseless story is still lingering on the same topic!

and as far as JA is concerned i am done with akbar's character and have started calling it BMC, for me he is dead and buried..i am still hovering around for the sake of my dear friends and RT..and i honestly want RT to quit because there is nothing left for him to do in the show..he is held back by ekta with a pay hike but i think he might leave most probably when the real leap starts...now by the end of this year the leap will focus on salim and anarkali..and if ekta brings a mind blowing couple with crackling chemistry and the female lead has no objections in doing passionate scenes then u wait and watch they will take the center stage and the actual jj will be sidelined and it will become more or less like mughal-e-azam! i think i will see how salim anarkali perform and then start rewatching it if its worth giving a try!

please shyamala, do not leave us we are like a lost flock of sheep without you! please do stay in touch and do not leave like this, its my request, in fact i do not want any of our group member to leave, please lets stay united!
