Kunal turned up at the end of the episode. So we are yet to see Mah's reactions towards him. He's definitely gonna apologise to his "mamma." Thanks to Mish, he saw the light. I wish he had been affected by Abir's anger though because he's always been more scared of not being Abir's nanko than Meenu's munna. Probably was still convinced by his mom's spurious reasoning that Abir's hiding his dukh.
BM was right to tell her to stop comparing the brothers and also to not let it out on Abir. But all four of their lives have become so interlinked that she always tries to set things right for Kuhu through MishBir, like when she asked Mishti to forget Abir because Meenu hates her and Kuhu would have to suffer collateral damage. (But frankly speaking, that didn't really happen till now. Meenu just stopped caring about taking revenge on Kuhu after KuKu marriage.) Abir did tell the Mahs back then that KuKu rishta only depends on the strength of KuKu's bond, and neither MishBir nor Meenu can be held responsible if it breaks.
I guess where Varsha went wrong is by idolizing Abir as the ideal husband and SIL. (She so confidently told Meenu that Abir would never agree for remarriage. She would've been unsure had it been Kunal.) I am gonna interpret Varsha stopping Abir from talking to Kuhu first as her realisation that she may have indeed gone too far and only Kunal can set things right as it is his fault. As for the unfairness of it all, I'm gonna assume that since she is aware of AbiNal bond and idolises Abir, she is counting on him to help Kunal rectify his mistakes once and for all and help strengthen KuKu. (As for the question of comparisons between Mishti and Kuhu, I hope Varsha knows that it is just convenient to say it will happen as they are sisters but had Abir married another woman like our Mish, it would've been no different.)
Not validating Kunal's behaviour here but nor will I say that just because he is not husband goals, he doesn't deserve to be a husband. He's flawed and he's hemmed in by so many old promises, memories of love, honour and protection which he now considers ehsaan. I think it's time Abir teaches him the same lesson he taught Mishti about being deserving of all of it. That's what Kuhu tried to tell him some episodes ago but I guess he only took temporary comfort in it. Maybe Abir doesn't need help and is born to be a son(had Meenu been a good mother and like he is now to BP/BM), husband, brother, father etc, but Kunal needs more guidance and support which he can get from family (and knowing that mad house under BB's thumb, basically from Abir and now Mishti: his new bff).
If only Varsha hadn't raised her voice so much and explained it nicely yet assertively to Abir, that whole scene wouldn't have looked so off and incensed people. (Just like Mishti severely pointed out Kunal's faults to him on dandiya night and berated Abir for not reacting appropriately to Kunal's betrayal.) Granted that this time, Abir was already rightfully angry at Kunal but he needed to hear all of it to understand that this won't be a one time thing, it has happened earlier and it may happen again, and that there has got to be a permanent solution to this. Meenu won't change, so Kunal has to learn when to prioritise his wife and differentiate right from wrong, and acknowledging that he did do so initially, to stick to his instincts and not be prey to Meenu's underhand schemes. This also means that Mish had the better solution this time, i.e. to convince Kunal that he was wrong, over Abir apologising and trying to convince Kuhu to come back on Kunal's behalf. Instead, Abir tried, got angry and then decided to take matters into his own hands. I think hearing out Varsha was needed. Atleast the valid bits of it.
Maybe if Kunal too receives a dressing down, it'll pacify our feelings.
