Did anybody feel bad for Kuhu today? She's been so open with Kunal recently, I really wanted her to share her true feelings with him regarding her birth. I'm sure she wanted to not add to his troubles but sometimes mutual humdardi can also be helpful.
I think a part of Kuhu's attitude towards Mishti is actually her way of making her life normal for herself. The more she put Mishti down and called her an outsider-charity case blah, the more she secured herself as janam se sidh part of Maheswari family (In her head). It's like a weighing balance: she tipped her worries, angst, insecurities onto the perfect target who fitted the bill of being adopted herself, i.e Mishti, and lightened herself. She calmed her fears and found her santvana through Mish and Mishti became the whipping girl, who already encumbered by her own problems, had to bear Kuhu's load as well.
In the process, she lost the chance to vent out and resolve her insecurities once and for all and make her peace with her birth. Mishti, on the other hand, got the chance to vent it all out time and again, thanks to Kuhu's constant taunting. She could think about it, feel miserable about it, cry. I pity Kuhu that she tried to run away from her real problems and suppress herself. Had she not tried to do so, she would have wholeheartedly sympathized with Mishti and helped her adjust in Mah house.
I'm not defending Kuhu as whatever her own trauma has been all about, she hurt Mishti ×100 times over in the process and knowing what a pure soul Mishti is: that she had tried her best to befriend Kuhu and took her role of being Kuhu's sister seriously and that had Kuhu entered the house after her, she would've never done the same with her-Mishti's plight is very, very disturbing. Kuhu is 50% responsible for Mishti's current psyche.
I hope Kunal will be her healer. Kuhu needs to heal as Mishti's bliss is also 50% dependent on it.
