I was hoping that people won't keep fixating on the first point but we are never going to move forward from this Mishti vs Kuhu thing, are we? You guys, there are 5 points after the KuBir point too.
Just so we can all move forward soon and hopefully discuss the actual storyline, I am going to reply everything related to MishKu in this one post only. Also, to avoid any generalisation, I like both couples but I like KuKu a little bit more because their scenes give me butterflies. I actually started watching the show because of MishKu. I was intrigued by how their bond would develop but stayed because of the layering of characters and most of the platonic relationships in the beginning.
Oh no! I find their bond to be one of the sweetest. They both became friends because they actually bonded with each other during Ketu's Sangeet and not because of Mishti and Kunal. In the next few meetings, they would joke around and slowly became each others' buddies. The actual KuBir bond developed after Kunal handed the divorce papers to Kuhu during the Navratri episodes even though they had decided to become each others' bros after the KuKu wedding.
@Bold-1: Abir told Kuhu he will be her big brother. Isn't this what elder siblings are supposed to do? It's their job to help and care for their chhotu bhai-behen. I don't know why you feel that she doesn't care about him. If your feelings are just related to MishBir, I have talked about it in the next point. When it's just Abir, there is actual bonding, love and respect there from both sides.
@Bold-2: I am going to assume here and say that by beginning, you mean during and after the KuKu wedding. I will not defend saying what she did was right because it clearly wasn't but we were given reasons for her every move, be it sending the email or exposing MishBir in front of the family. (elaborated later in the post)
@Bold-3: From my understanding of the episodes, the MishNal bond which is still in it's beginning stages pricks her because she had only ever opened up to Kunal about how much she doesn't like Mishti and he is the only person who knows about how desperate she was to get away from Mishti (KuKu jhoola scene). The newly budding bond between the two scares her that she will become a second priority for Kunal as well but with the knowledge he holds about her insecurities, becoming a second priority will hit harder than any other relationship.
Hey! I'm sorry your relatives had to go through that. I don't know them so I wouldn't try to even equate their situation with the show because every person and every relation is different and I do hope they are happy in their lives.
In the shows' case, we know the backstory and the characters' thought process, so let's go ahead with that knowledge. I agree that sorry always doesn't cut it but it is the first step. Things build from there.
Realistically speaking, most people don't acknowledge wrongdoing in a case where people don't know the perpetrator and Kuhu is definitely no different. Talking about the eavesdropping thing and revealing their relationship in front of the Maheshwari's, yes, it was wrong. Did she regret it? Yes. She mentioned it to Jasmeet over their phone call that she doesn't want to separate them because losing your love is the worst pain possible as she had just been told a day before that her marriage was just a sham and her fairytale love story had come crashing down. When Jasmeet asked her if that you feel so guilty, why do want to go to the lengths of breaking their relationship, she tells her, "To mend what Mishti has broken: Kunal" and ergo, her life. at that point in time, she believed that if Mishti was not to enter the RV house, Kunal would give their relationship a fair chance. She did not create any problems for MishBir once there was no hope left for her relationship with Kunal.
The Janmashtami incident was 100% wrong. She should not have done that. We do see her realising her mistake the next second and even though, she doesn't tell Mishti, she does, later on, promises Mishti that she won't do anything like that ever again.
There are no different standards for Kuhu. She has been called out for every mistake that she has made, be it intentional or unintentional in the forum. But there have been different standards for Mishti. I understand she is the main lead but why does no one talk about her actions. None of her actions has been unintentional yet. She prides herself for the fact that she tells the truth in every situation but after breaking her alliance with Kunal, she reveals about KuKu to Varsha when she herself was in constant touch with Abir. Kuhu gets slapped because of Mishti.
On multiple occasions, she hurts Kuhu's feelings when she tells her that we will perform together, be it in Kutch or in the hotel during the Shweta track, she decides to hog the limelight for herself.
She deliberately hurts Kuhu on the day of her Haldi on Meenakshi's insistence even though she could have told her family that Meenu had found out about Kuhu being illegitimate when she was sent to bring back the Kundli. A girl who had the sense to reject a man after a false courtship could not understand that if a boy is ready to break off the marriage in one second on his mothers' insistence, there is something fishy and it could ruin Kuhu's life forever?
After her return from London, she explicitly tells Kuhu that she doesn't want anyone else to find out she is back but when Kuhu informs her that Big Ben came to the retreat, she shuts Kuhu down. She is constantly going behind Kuhu's back to hurt Abir but Kuhu still tried to bridge the gap between the two (NishMish attack).
During the NishMish wedding, even when she was given multiple chances to call off the wedding, she did not say no. Instead, she kept trying to prove that she would be the perfect bahu by gifting the stick house to Jasmeet. She promised Kuhu multiple times that she would not break Nishant's heart but what did she do in the end? She broke his heart. She had several chances to, if not say no, at least postpone the wedding to a further date.
She also had a say in the mandap situation as well as getting married first. she chose to stay quiet. The girl who rejected 2 guys at end moments chose to stay quiet.
Also, about equating an unintentional mistake with an intentional one, Kuhu did not deliberately break the haar. It was a mistake that took place in a fit of rage. Yes, it was wrong of her to do that and hence the multiple apologies. In my opinion, she should just have told them that the haar got broken instead of stalling. Mishti was told to stay away from that court notice several times but she intentionally ransacked Kuhu's cupboard and took the papers. The reveal may have been unintentional but the snooping was not.
So, basically, what I am trying to say is dono me se koi bhi doodh ka dhula nahi hai. They both made mistakes but one has been called out every time, the other has not.
Also, thank you for the last line🤗
@Bold - I would love to see her own up to her mistakes but then drama khatam ho jaayega and makers need drama for TRP. More than anything, I hope to see her lose it completely and break down. That girl had kept quiet about her marriage for 5-6 months and when finally, the truth came out, nobody even gave her a hug. No one even cared to ask if she was okay. They just wanted her problem to be over with so they could move on to Mishti's marriage. Yes, Varsha cried a whole lot about her daughters' failed marriage but did anyone even care about how she was. Let alone her emotional health, they didn't even ask her if she wanted to continue with her marriage or divorce Kunal. If she wouldn't have spoken up, Shaurya, Vishambher and Naanu would have played passing the parcel with her life like they were asking each other to make a decision.
Frankly, both of them need to stop blaming things on either each other or their circumstances. Just own up but again, that will be less dramatic so I guess we will have to suck it up.
Hey Ruhi!
You don't have to justify anyone's actions. There is no justification for wrongdoing. Also, they are fictional. As viewers, we just need to understand where the storyline is headed so we can demand a better one. I really don't understand the game plan with the sleeping pills here. How does Mishti sleeping off make her a bad bahu according to Meenu and how does it help Kuhu?? Also, we all now know Abir will drink the pill laced coffee and that will make things as worse for Kuhu as is possible. If Kunal finds out, she is dead meat and if Mishti finds out, she will get blackmailed and will have to keep doing whatever Mishti says. And if Abir finds out then everyone will find out so Kuhu to is gone.
Phew!!!!! I am done and my fingers are sore from all the typing. Now, If the Mishti vs Kuhu thing is done, can we move forward to other things?😒
