Hayee, what if they play wedding games in these red matching outfits?

After leap atrocities were so bad that I suddenly started liking and missing her boring pre-leap outfits 😆 I think styling wise, she looked the best during KuShti courtship phase. Her hair was styled very nicely that time...

So chalega. Boring outfits bhi chalega... she will stand out no matter what!

But wish hamari chashme ki icchaa puri ho jaaye kaise bhi?!

Waise, I really don't think she has gotten lasik done. I mean, when they planned that stupid NishMish attack in London, with fake snow and all 😆, it was a day before they left for India to execute the plan and she was wearing glasses till then... Did she get lasik done in a day?... like just before boarding the plane or what? Appointment bhi mil gayi itni jaldi? And what about the insurance? 🤔 US main toh it's not possible at all... 😆😆

She must be wearing contacts only.... but the writers will keep us in a limbo, has she / has she not gotten lasik done? They will probably reveal it some other time to move some track forward 😔

Yes you are right...she was really styled well in the days of the courtship track....her long hair looked pretty with the glasses. Now it looks like the long hair may be back for her post shaadi look (via wig😆 or extensions) but no sign of glasses 🤷‍♀️

LASIK toh deffo nahin karvaya. Seems like contacts only but writers won’t bother clarifying details. I’m surprised they even showed that one scene of Mishti having the old chashma in her box of Abir memories during the NishMish track 😆

The door is open to bringing chashme back anytime but god knows what “twist” they are saving it for😕..lol maybe they want Abir’s hair to grow back to bring both of them back to the same appearance at the same time. 😆.....then toh we should give up expecting for atleast 6 months 😕😆

Tab tak kichen politics mein phasse 2.0 AM hi chalenge I guess 😆

I am curous about these glasses that everyone keeps mentioning. Is there a reason why people want her to keep wearing them?

Her not wearing glasses makes sense to me. It seems before leap, she used to wear them more as a shield against the world than anything else, including her choice of clothes.

She will never be as bold as Kuhu, that is just not her character. However, since the leap she gained confidence enough to believe in Abir loves her for who as she is, so she is now revealing her real self - minus glasses and the clothes she used to wear. I guess you could compare her to a flower basking under the warmth (love) of the sun (Abir) and coming into her true personality.

She no longer needs those glasses to to keep the world at bay. She has Abir.

I guess you haven’t seen the scenes when Kunal tried to force Mishti to remove her glasses via surgery and she clarified that the glasses are a part of her identity, they make her happy and that is why she wants to keep them.

They are not a shield for her to hide behind....the story never indicated that. Not sure why you are interpreting it that way 😕

And Abir actually gifted her glasses back to her one day marking a landmark moment of understanding between them. Hence the significance.

This is a rare story that gave an empowering message about a girl with self confidence in her glasses despite pressure to change her appearance...that is why we are asking for them back.

Otherwise every other story is about how a girl becomes “beautiful” after removing her glasses 🙄...

I have seen that episode and I know how strongly she opposed his idea (thought it was heavy handed of him to not even discuss it with her in the first place).

Not sure why you are interpreting it that way 😕 She has always said she wanted to be accepted for who she was, so that was my interpretion especially when linked with her not accepting K's idea of having surgery, and with her no longer wearing them now it kinda made sense to me. Btw I wear glasses in real life and love 'em.

I totally understand the whole significance of Abir giving the glasses. That is why she knew she no longer needed them.

Mishti was always beautiful before and now. However she dresses it came from her as a character so her empowerment continues because ultimately it is her choice.

No, she left the glasses behind only because she wanted to reinvent herself after being heartbroken by the breakup with Abir. He also cut his hair for the same reason.

The leap brought in a forced change in appearance for both of them to show how they lost a piece of themselves in being separated....not out of any true joy in wanting to change.

My wish to see the glasses back is related to the meaning attached to them. Otherwise toh all appearances are cosmetic in general. To me, her glasses and his long hair were defining characteristics for their characters that set them apart. Otherwise they become generic in appearance.

*Edit: I guess I remember the glasses scene very differently then. She specifically pointed out not just that she wanted to be accepted for who she was but that the glasses were part of what makes her Mishti. That is an important distinction.

Anyways you are welcome to your interpretation. This was mine.

That is the beauty of visual story telling, everyone interprets it their way.😊

@bold, I never thought of it like that. How interesting. Thanks for bringing up this viewpoint.

I was looking at it as more of a character growth on both their part. Falling in love, then losing that love in a way neither had dreamed of and the aching realisation that their world encompasses many more than just the two of them - they empowered themselves by making choices within their new reality which not only defined them as they were before the leap but also encompasses them as the new Misbir after the leap.

I don't think they have ever mentioned/expressed so far that Mishti wore the glasses as her shield against the world or to hide her shortcomings. She was always shown to be comfortable in her own skin and has never actually exhibited any signs that she thinks any less of herself, be it looks, or clothes or anything else.

She actually loved her glasses and they were always shown to be a very big part of her personality pre-leap. Abir was aware of that and we got this beautiful track of him encouraging her to not change herself for anyone and that wearing glasses or not was only her choice.

Post leap, she got rid of her glasses in order to project herself as a different person to Abir, as Misthi 2.0, to make him believe that she had changed after he left her. And Abir did taunt her about getting rid of her glasses assuming someone else made that choice for her.

Things are normal now, back to pre-leap era and Mishti is now again Misthi 1.0 - but there is no sign of her glasses, not even a conversation around it... so that creates a major disconnect with hardcore MishBir lovers as it seems very unlikely of them to not discuss it or for Abir to not be curious about her glasses...

Hence the constant chants of her chashme 😛

@Bold

Kuhu has bold outer-self.

Mishti has bold inner-self.

Yes, perceptions do vary 😊

The separation was a test of their relationship but growth doesn’t necessarily mean leaving behind defining characteristics....you can grow even while keeping yourself anchored. Those glasses and the long hair spoke to their core anchored characteristics. So even as they chart a new reality, they need not shed everything that brought them together.

I don’t see this as an issue of empowerment. That is happening separately in the way they fight for their relationship and their happiness. So the glasses and hair being shed were never about “empowered choices”, it was a coping mechanism. And now the writers have deliberately shifted gears to family drama rather than their individual defining traits.

Thank you for summing it so well 👏

I was beginning to wonder if I had imagined the Mishti who loved her glasses as a part of identity 😆....but no, you’ve reminded me she was real 😊

@ bold - which episode was that? I don't remember that and would love to see it.

Everyone interprets story in their own way. I'm only expressing my own, from the way the story appeared to me is all. No right or wrong 😊

I agree Mishti was always confident. My intrepretation came about from things I had observed, understood and interpreted and then post-leap that sort of solidified further. But I really do like that statement made by AY above, about them losing a part of themselves. See, I saw it as acknowledging their love and also the loss of it and then redefining themselves in their new reality ie their world as it is currently.

@at red - yeah that seems to be a speciality of indian tv show. I also miss the conversations they had. I don't read or speak hindi so can someone confirm if they had changed writers after the post leap?
