I’m honestly getting some deja vu about how the concept of consent is being twisted in the case of Abir and Mishti.
In fact, IMO the writing team deserves kudos for navigating this tricky landscape in a convincing manner.
To understand this, one needs to understand the crux of AM’s relationship....it operates not on the labels of perfection and idealism....it operates as a partnership of understanding and commitment to each other. That commitment and faith has been tested off late, even faltered....but how and when does that make the whole relationship moot?
Abir showing up again and again to make his case to Mishti was not him taking away her consent....it was him trying to make amends....and he did not create some typical Devdas tamasha...he was quite restrained for a guy who was otherwise despairing about loosing Mishti. He is not wrong when he says Mishti was the one who gave him those rights to begin with. A relationship by it’s inherent nature gives people certain intimate rights over each other. People can keep commenting and judging from the outside but the people in that relationship know what they mean to each other and what rights they give to each other. That right includes the right to fight for each other in adverse circumstances. Yes, it would be so neat and simple if Abir just walked away and let Mishti resign herself to her zombie existence. But life is never neat and simple. Love is never that neat and simple.
Good or bad, they have chosen each other and chosen to build their future together in the face of all odds. Something with that deep faith is worth fighting for....otherwise it’s easy to walk away from any set of tough circumstances in life. Making mistakes doesn’t mean you’ve lost everything in life and don’t deserve your happiness again.
The most meaningful line in their song is “DONO ne yeh tay kiya hai”....THEY have decided...not any one person, but them together. So what is between them is theirs to sort....the consent isn’t black and white here....it’s a fine balance. When one throws up smokescreens in denial and other pressures, the other steps up to remind them of the truth they both share.
And I’ve noticed that the lead pair of a show is always quick to be labeled “toxic” if people have a preference for the side pair 😆....conspiracy theories abound about how the other characters are “butchered” to make the lead pair look good. Lol so everything from inflation to global warming is blamed on the “toxic” lead pair 😆
Hadh hai bhai 😆
So after all the upheavals and bad timing and missed opportunities, finally Abir and Mishti spoke directly to each other today 😆
Who knew that all it would take was the news of an accident for Mishti to brush aside everything and go running to Abir. Lol faltu mein itna time waste kiya in doing drama in every ceremony, Abir 😛😆....pehle hi accident fake kar leta toh bahut pehle baat ho jaati. Lol
Jokes apart, the scene came out so well 👏. The instinctual aspect was again the most beautiful part of it. Mishti frantically looking around for Abir and when he shows up and simply opens his arms, she goes running into them....no questions asked. In that one moment, everything else dissolved away. The need for solace superseded everything. Only they can give solace to each other like that. And that solace was the first step in unlocking this tangle between them.
First there was her relief that he is ok. He was relieved too to finally have Mishti back in his arms. It was like life poured back into both of them again. Then came her anger when she realized there was no accident. Lol and instead of feeling guilt for the tactic, Abir countered with asking her why she showed up in a panic anyways. And that set the tone for finally unfolding the long overdue truth to Mishti.
I’m struck by how the writers manage to make AM have these atypical and almost surprisingly simple and straightforward convos for an ITV couple. Lol usually this convo would have been dragged onto a mandap drama and last minute confession. I’m pleasantly surprised that they managed to talk it out before that and I loved how the scene just flowed from that moment. Mishti’s relief in knowing the truth and the way she instantly cuddled into his arm picking up right where they had left off....with him saying “Tum angry ho, violent ho, chorni ho? Toh phir tum meri ho” 😆......The natural aspect of the scene and the convo was a big plus.Mishti’s first reaction was pure instinct as she realized that her faith in her love won after all....and that is why she was cuddling into Abir with that relief. It was only later that she remembered the complications now with Nannu in the mix. Lol
But this scene was pitch perfect. Great job by Shaheer and Rhea 👏
Poor Mishti wondering for the nth time why Meenu hates her so very much 😆
And Nannu as expected turned out to be an insecure loser.....yeh toh hona hi tha. The usual fate of every third wheel on ITV. Lol Meenu ko ek aur pawn mil gaya for endless plotting and planning. Kunal out and Nannu in 🤔😆
Precap looks like the apology from Abir will continue into next week as Mishti struggles with the complication she is now stuck in.
Story is at an interesting turn now. Hope the team can manage to execute the bhaag ke shaadi dhang se 🙏😂
Hey! great to see you here and read your post.
I always feel that simple = beautiful
Hey! great to see you here and read your post.

Hey Jean! Good to see you too. How’ve you been? It feels like ages since our PB discussions😆
Agree about the beauty in simplicity. Sadly most ITV writers aren’t quite able to manage it well.
Thank you, Brutus ji 😆
People are still blaming AM for everything? You don’t say 😲😆....And the sun rose in the East again....yeh toh normal hai ab 😆....There’s plenty of real life Kunals and Kuhus who will never sudhro and keep on projecting on AM 🤷♀️😂
BP is blinded in the protectiveness of a father, so it’s understandable that he’s not able to have faith in Mishti’s decision making right now. It’s helpful that his wife tries to give him perspective and point out how rushed this is atleast....but as a typical man, he will only understand when its time. Lol
Nishant also has an insecurity problem....he got carried away and has now started treating Mishti like a prized possession rather than a human being with the right to her own happiness. Once you start scheming with Meenu, you can’t be justified. Lekin yeh bhi aayega rota hua baad mein to beg forgiveness like Kunal one day I bet 😛😆
AM are compelling precisely because they talk through and work through their mistakes and personality flaws.....they work through the challenges in life and family. It enhances the depth of their love and adds conviction to it. Something very rare on ITV these days 😆
I honestly don't deny AM's flaws tbh. Mishti was wrong in lying to Abir and trusting Meenu. Similarly Abir always over compensated for his brother and the break up was a terrible decision. And then the MU compounded the problem. What I don't get is the justification for Nishant or even BP. Mishti is an adult for god's sake. Even if Abir is toxic, it should be her decision at the end of the day. You can't decide things on her behalf and assume this marriage will work best for her because you think her ex sucks. If Abir was wrong in babying Kunal, BP and Nishant are just as wrong in babying Mishti. And Nishant has also made this into a competition where he just cannot let Abir win. What has this got to do with Mishti's happiness? How are we even justifying this?🤪

I don’t think it’s about AM’s flaws....as we have stated many times in this forum, those flaws are acknowledged each time they make mistakes and fail each other.
To me, this is all deja vu of the discussions from the previous show that aired at this time on this channel 😆....people tossed out labels for the lead pair over half baked presumptions, claimed that other characters were being butchered to glorify the leads etc etc. Sound familiar? 😛
So it’s the same case here....unless AM fall into their box of “acceptable”, they are “toxic” and “undeserving” so everything will be twisted to claim that AM are always wrong and not right for each other and other characters are supposedly perfect but being “misunderstood”. 😆 It’s Meenu level of special myopia in many ways 😆....since she is also supposedly still considered a “grey” character while AM are the horrible selfish ones who ruin everyone’s lives 🤔😆

Hahah bang on. Everything is somehow Abir and Mishti's fault. Kunal being a brat, Kuhu being petty and jealous, Jasmeet being vile, Meenu being a megalomaniac, BP being egoistic & blind, Nishant being insecure and ridiculous and maybe even global warming too 🤪
I am baffled at some of the opinions expressed for the leads. They used to amuse me and I used to wonder how can they be so so different than the majority?! Have questioned my own judgment at times.
But I quickly came to realize that the blatant bias stems from being unhappy with the leads from the beginning so much so that they have been written off early on and nothing they do or say ever feels right or will ever do.
Every other character has good and bad sides, but apparently the leads of our show are always wrong and because of their toxic love and inconsiderate behavior, other characters have to suffer.
Not only Nishant, Meenu too is justified.
Bottom line: Everyone except Abir and Mishti are right.
Nishant is such a nice guy, a bechara, best friend of Mishti, only wants the best for her. Doing this shadi to protect her, making a sacrifice for the family but Misht just doesn’t see beyond the shayarana pyar! Even after all the rejection and harassment from Abir, Mishti is still running behind him, so Nishant is doing everything in his power to protect his best friend. He can see that Abir is not marriage material, he is a much better choice so why should he not be the one to marry Mishti? And btw he is only keeping an eye on her to protect her from her ex, that shouldn’t really be termed as stalking.
Mishti has been wrong from the beginning since she has been terrible to Kuhu. Mishti always dumps her opinions on Kuhu and takes decisions for her. Besides Kuhu has been done great injustice in the Mah house and her insecurities are direct result of her dada-dadi showering more love on Mishti and btw that’s also Mishti’s fault. And it doesn’t matter Kuhu has her parents too who dot on her but because of Mishti, she is not able to get her grandparents undivided attention and praise! Sab Mishti ki wajah se here too 👍🏼
Kunal is the younger brother but is the wiser one and is the only son who understands his mother’s pain and efforts. He is basically the perfect son that Abir could never be. And he has been made to make many sacrifices because of Abir’s irresponsible, inconsiderate and udd chala behavior.
Abir is pyar main andha, lattu and doesn’t take any responsibility of the house. Shayari se pet nahin bharata Abirbabu. He has never tried to understand his mom’s point of view and doesn’t pitch in the business either. Meenakshi’s budhe kandhe are tired of taking care of the family but the elder son doesn’t even bother to see it since he only cares for his lovestory. Does he even know what it means to be an elder son?
Oh it’s so very obvious that Mishti is not good for the Rajvansh family and Meenakshi is wise enough to see that and is trying to stop her family from breaking apart but her stubborn son just doesn’t listen. What can a poor mother do? So what if Abir is an adult and has the right to choose for himself, can’t he make one little compromise and marry the girl of his mom’s choice, for family’s sake? It’s not like Meenu sent Parul to jail by choice! She is only trying to be a better parent than her dad and making last ditch attempts to stop her son from making the mistakes she did in her time and protect him and the family! Abir has not once tried to understand or listen to his mom, he is too occupied in his lovestory to realize how his family is suffering because of his obsession with Mishti!
Mishti had left BadePapa with no choice but to make this shadi decision to protect his daughter. And now this harassment by Abir to Nishant and the Mah family! No means no! Why is there any need for anyone to fight for their love.
Mishti and Abir need to realize that their love is toxic and it’s nothing but mere obsession that will fizzle out in due course. Mishti marrying Nishant is the right and best decision for both the families as 2-minute noodle love doesn’t last long and loveless marriage is nothing but a myth.

Thank you AY for providing the thread to let me get it off my chest.
Yes, Meenu level of special myopia is the best way to describe these skewed one dimensional opinions.
It’s either that or maybe it’s cool and smart to be different!

Felt like making some gifs on this scene :)

No problem, Pali....rant away😆.
@bold: Eggjactly😆....that became clear to me a while back. Everyone else gets "objective benefit of doubt" except for AM who only exist to be resented constantly....lol
Oh well, yeh toh chalta rahega.....haha
