That tumhe speech deni padegi was way outta line. I somehow agreed with the idea that he thinks that its a permanent solution rather than having specs repaired everytime.

Oh trust me when i say this yes people are full of who would judge by your appearances but you have to stick it out for those who don't.

I have tried to change my appearance, I have felt lesser in my teens but i outgrew it now. I think it happened when one of my friend said that i'm way fine the way I am.

I always believe in if you want to do something the reason behind has to be for you.

Trust me i have specs for almost 15 years now. I am surrounded with people who want me to have lasik and I have been 'told to wear contacts for functions. I just can't. I tried , it doesn't suit me, I moved on. I almost had my eyes gone for good because of contacts once. 😆

They do casually mention when I'll be getting married, I'll have one. I wont be having photographs wearing spectacles. (I cant imagine not wearing something comfortable during my own wedding) They'll be in for surprise.

TBH specs are my part of life now. The one who really loves you would be happy to see you no matter what at the end of the day. I feel like an old person right now

Aww thanks for the hug and a virtal hug right back at ya. Yes I do agree the person who truly loves us should loves us for who we are

I wish there was a button for 'love' to hit on your post. Family, friends, society and women themselves literally waste most of their time and life trying to look as per some set standards. Movies and TV shows are full of women who look the same, all glammed up dolls.

So, I was surprised when I first saw Mishti with specs and was sure that in a few episodes she'd have a 'makeover' and get contacts. So glad this track has been introduced.

I don't give a damn about what others think. Many women love to apply tons of chemicals on their face, maybe coz they don't like what they look like or so that others appreciate them or maybe that they genuinely like to apply makeup. While some don't even use lipstick and are perfectly fine with it.

The day women get the confidence and don't live their life on the basis of cosmetic companies, half of them will go out of business.

Family plays a very important role in giving girls the confidence and strength to not fall in the trap and have a befitting reply if someone is stupid enough to comment on your looks.

It's easy to get influenced by peer pressure and make wrong decisions. I had almost gone for lasik bcoz of what my friends used to say, thankfully the doc told me to wait for a couple of years and then do it. By then, I realized that I don't need to get rid of glasses just to please others. I proudly wear specs and will continue to do so. If someday I do go for contacts or surgery, it'll be bcoz I want to not to please anyone else or fit in the box people want women to fit in.

True its like what Abhir said that a society kills a girl's individuality to make her conform to a set standard

That is the true love. And it just doesn't have to be a romantic one always tbh

Hopefully this track will help change some mindsets. Next time Mishti's in-laws or anyone tries to change her, she should speak up and point out things she wants changed/ removed from them so that she can accept them 😆

Yes, actually this storyline showed something that happens with every girl. So often, we're told that we're not pretty enough, not fair enough, not thin enough, not tall enough and the list goes on.

Lasik is a choice that should only be made by the person in question. If Mishti wanted to get it done, I would have been okay with it but Kunal was basically forcing and pressurising her to do it. Does he really think this is a small issue? Maybe it is for him but it is not for Mishti. You have to be empathetic. He lacks empathy and is totally self-centred.

If Mishti does not have an issue with her glasses and thinks they are a part of her identity, let her be.

It's just sad that there is such a pressure on women to fit a very narrow beauty standard.

Exactly if you are getting into a marriage your husband is a partner but in things related to your body a woman should make a choice on their own. It's Misthi's decision not Kunal's
