*#* 2. MishBir OS - The morning after *#*
Mishti awoke to the sounds of birds chirping. Squinting she looked up at the huge clock in her new room, 4:57 it read.
Her new room.
Her cheeks tingled, even as a warm feeling spread over her stomach and moved downwards. Clutching the blanket to her bare chest, she turned on her side and propped herself up on her elbow, drinking in the sight before her.
Her husband was asleep on his stomach, his face was turned towards her, his hair falling over his forehead. His hands were sprawled on either side of his head, a contended smile playing on his lips.
She let her eyes linger on his lips a while - they seemed so innocent now, she thought, but they'd been anything but, a few hours ago. She crinkled her nose and playfully smacked the side of her head at the direction her mind was taking.
Blushing, she inched closer, closing the gap between them. She plonked on the pillow, letting her free arm casually drape his bare shoulders, as she gazed lovingly into his face .
"Good morning handsome" she murmured, leaning in and brushing her lips over his. His lips feeling warm and soft next to hers. A tingle shot down her spine as she let her lips linger there before she pulled away, positioning her head in such a way that she could she him, but still be as close as can be.
The blanket on his thin hips moved a little, distracting her momentarily, her eyes automatically following the direction of the blanket.
Actually more than momentarily, she thought, as her throat dried up.
"Good morning, wife"
Startled, she looked up at his face again - he still had his eyes closed, but that smile had widened.
God, she loved that smile. And that hair. She added, as her eyes travelling to his hair, And the eyes that were now closed. Actually, everything. She loved everything about this man. This man, who was now her husband.
Husband. It gave her such a warm fuzzy feeling throughout her body.
"Husband" she murmured lovingly, stroking his hair away from his face. She let her arm rest on his cheek, his five o clock stubble gently pricking against her fingertips. He planted quick tender kisses on her hand, making her insides dance with joy.
"I don't want to wake up, do you?" He muttered, eyes still closed, his words interjected with kisses on her forehead, on her eyes, on her cheeks.
If he was talking about getting out of bed and this room, then
"No" she answered unabashedly.
That was all he needed.
She squealed in delight as in one swift motion he rolled her over on her back and rolled over on top of her. Brushing the hair away from her face, he cupped her face with one hand and propped himself up with the other.
" Mishti - " he started to say, his eyes deep as they searched her face
She placed a finger on his lips, "shhh. Don't say anything. Don't say anything, Abir. " She answered.
He hadn't said anything, but she knew him. He wanted to ask her what he had asked her last night before they had drifted off to sleep - he wanted to ask her if she was ok. If last night was -
She had been so overcome with emotions then that she hadn't given an answer. She had just distractedly nodded before slumping over in his loving embrace as sleep took over.
"This is perfect. We are perfect"
That was all he needed to hear as relief and happiness flooded his face.
"God, I love you so much" he declared - his voice held raw emotion and equal amounts of love, happiness, content and thankfulness. He loved her. He was happy. He was contended with life. He was thankful. For her.
Her heart swelled with love for the man she had just married as their eyes met. Those eyes got to her every time. Everytime she looked into those, she felt a sense of security, a sense of belonging, a sense of....home.
Her breath hitched, and tears pooled up in her eyes, "I love you too, Abir. I love you more than I can ever express" she muttered, her voice raspy and breaking with emotion.
He smiled as he brushed away her tears tenderly, " I know" he said, his eyes dropping down to her lips even as her did the same to his.
A few seconds must have passed before Mishti spoke in a hushed tone, her eyes darting between his lips and eyes, "you should kiss me now"
"Whatever you say, wife" he replied jokingly, before he captured her lips with his.
