Has anyone been able to decode Abir's reaction to Mishti calling him her friend and the scene leading up to it?

It seemed to me like he was awkward around her in the scene leading up to it. He also looked dazed and awkward again rather than happy when she calls him her only friend in the house. Maybe he's finally beginning to shed the carefree facade unknowingly. Abir was like "Really, we are??Oh...yes, yes we are (hesitantly)" in response to what Mishti said. This is in complete contrast to the full-fledged smile he had when Mishti hugged him after the paragliding sequence.

I guess Abir's aloofness is the after effect of the Kunal-Mishti alliance being accepted by the Maheshwaris? What do you think?

I think Abir's reaction happened in two stages. The first reaction was to her saying he was "eklauta dost" where I think he reacted more to the word, "eklauta." The idea of being "the only one" that she could open up to brought up all the feelings he has for her -- that he likes to pretend aren't that big a deal -- and it sent him floating into "dheere dheere se" dreamland. 😆

Then she ask him, "kya hum dost nahin hain?" and it kind of brings him crashing down to earth, with the realities that he doesn't want to get married, this girl's rishta might have just gotten fixed with his brother, and there can be absolutely nothing romantic between them. He hesitates because it takes him a minute to bridge the gap between what he is feeling at that moment and what he actually has to say in reply to her question.

I thought this little exchange was the highlight of the episode. Abir thinks he is so in control of the situation, and operating above all the rishta confusion but at the same time, Mishti keeps affecting him in ways that he can't anticipate and he is slowly losing grip on his feelings. The whole silent conflict was beautifully directed and acted!

i think it may go chal mere bhai type where abir will loose control at last and will be drunk and confess to kunal everything
and kunal will break the rishta and will propose kuhu and nanji will propose for abir
i dont feel mishti is going to realise her feeling anytime soon as she has totally friendzoned her but abir just cant leave without talking to her today the way he came to mishti was very cute
and mishti is not affected at all she is acting quite practical like she talked to kunal pratically
there is alot of similiarity in mishbir and kuku lovestory where kuhu and abir are same their reaction their feeling everything and kunal and mishti are same
big ben is actually going to hit jack as by manipulating mishti she can force abir
mishti is going to be another gopi bahu and kuhu the another rashi

Yes it was the moment of the episode Hearing himself to be the only friend made Abeer face the fact that he did not want to acknowledge. ...that he did not want Mishti to consider him only as a friend...but she is pledged for his brother. Abeer took time to swallow the fact and react to Mishti's innocent expression of friendship..Shaheer did the part so well.

Perfectly analyzed and explained! Abir's hesitant reaction makes so much more sense now. I was sure that some part of him was disappointed at having been friend-zoned and I too think he was surprised and happy about the "ek lauta" dost part, like you said. This moment was definitely the best part of the episode and Shaheer did a great job portraying all the different emotions.

You're bang on about the similarities between Abir-Kuhu and Mishti-Kunal. The truth is that Abir and Kuhu, apart from the obvious similarities in their personalities, are both aware of their feelings for Mishti and Kunal in some capacity, and are disappointed by the impending alliance between Mishti and Kunal.

On the other hand, Kunal and Mishti are both completely oblivious to Abir and Kuhu's feelings, and have no romantic inclination towards anyone yet. They are quite practical, as you said, and are considering the marriage proposal brought by their parents. Yet, both are eager to be friends with Kuhu and Abir, respectively, and are even the first ones to extend their hand in friendship.

Yes, Mishti and Kunal certainly enjoy Abir and Kuhu's company and are more comfortable around them than they are around each other, but they are both nowhere near having any romantic feelings yet.

Do any of the KRPKAB fans see the Dev 1.0 -> Dev 2.0 in this Abeer? The Dev we did not get to see during the leap? I imagine him having all these complex conversations with IN wasis when i see this show (PS: Am I allowed to say this here?)

Yes DQ..sometimes I do imagine but immediately realise the fact.. that both the charecters are widely different in conception..I think. ..you can say this without naming the show..though I admit..I am always confused about the rules of forum.
