That kinda happens in real life too sadly, women having to take permission. Maybe not everywhere but tier 2 or tier 3 cities mein hota hai. And that is because of the stereotyped gender roles society has given both men and women. Men cannot become stay home dads and are pressured to take over the role of being breadwinners whereas women are expected to take care of home and family, even in many families where women are free to work, they still have a choice to take a break because there is no expectation on us to be the earning part of the family, whereas boys don’t have that kind of a fancy choice to take a break, because they are always obliged to earnOriginally posted by: DevilsHeart
I agree. Also, when people speak of women empowerment in shows and otherwise, why is it shown necessary for a woman to take permission from her husband/family for working? Did the man ever take permission from his wife/family before a deal or a job? If the wife complains that he is not giving her time - will he let go of his promotion or profits?
