Relationships either crumble or strengthen under tragedy

I was watching this episode on Hotstar as therapy for the crap shown in YRKKH currently, and I wanted to share it here. Since the Kaira and Abhira era, families and relationships have broken apart in times of tragedy. But in the OG era, everyone came together and grew closer in a time of crisis. I've already made posts about this but I couldn't help sharing this again.

How a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law come together as a source of support and love in a time of tragedy WITHOUT playing the blame game.

How sisters and sisters-in-laws stand by each other.

How two brothers-in-law and friends step up over their own grief to support the family.

How samdhans and samdhis are at each other's beck and call to provide support and strength. Even if you haven't watched the earlier seasons, these episodes are worth the watch.

Watch the full episode on Hotstar (S19E3) aired on 29 Nov 2012. It is a heartwarming, tear-jerking episode of how an entire family comes together to support one another in a time of crisis. Even the most minor side characters are given such beautiful and genuine scenes.

This is what we cherish ...detractors say it was all about shadi functions , song and dances etc etc, no..it was much more than that ..it was about the kind of relationships which we all crave for ...a friend , parents , siblings , in laws , husband ..it was about people who may have differences but they were there for each other when needed..they stood by each otherin the time of need , they gave the best advise ..those kind of family values are gone ..not to be seen in today's movies or shows ..they all made mistakes as they were humans not gods , we can't write them off for their mistakes

The goenkas spoiled the whole yrkkh vibe and I hate them for it..I still do..that's why I am so detached with them , akshara and birlas are a hypocrite bunch..kuch galat hua nai ke bas.panic attack..heart attack..suicide threats , suicide , accidents , followed by "nikal jao mere ghar se "..so akshara was good for them only till she was giving them grandchildren ?🤢 Anishas death followed by Neil.. next time abhira will have to separate, kill sir , parth, shefali or shivansh🤢 I didn't say manjari and mahima bec phir ghar se kaun nikalega😆

Not just Aarohi and Manjari, sooo many characters don't fit in YRKKH. Abhimanyu & the new-age Akshara, and Kartik & Naira have spoiled the sanctity of marriage. The entire Goenka family brought down the caliber of this show. The only character from that family that was up to the standard of YRKKH was Keerti. In the beginning, even Kartik had potential but that went downhill very quickly.

And the thing is their mistakes were forgivable. It's the kind of mistakes we'd make in everyday life. Like relatives misunderstanding each other, or having a difference of opinion, something that can happen in any relationship and can be figured out very easily. Even the problems that happened between couples were the kind that could happen in any marriage. Not the type of lack of trust that Kartik and Abhi have showcased.

But nowadays the kind of mistakes they show are literally CRIMES. Kartik kidnapping his own sister's child, Suhasini protecting a wife-beater because he's a son-in-law and protecting a child molester because he's a male relative (and soooo much more), Naira's unlimited shenanigans, and of course Aarohi's medical negligence and malpractice. And don't get me started on how easily daughters-in-law and wives are thrown out of the house and blamed for everything.

In the scene above, when Akshara tries to blame herself, Gayatri chides her for doing so. She says Akshara is just as much her child as Naitik is, and she's happy that Naitik protected her. If it were Manjari, Mahima, or even the old Swarna, they would have thrown their DIL out (like they have done before).

Even in season 1, they had Daddaji's death sequence and Bhabhimaa threw Akshara out of the house, but three big things made that track watchable.

(1) Naitik stood by Akshara's side as a rock and pillar of support throughout. He left his house with her and trusted her against his own family.

(2) Everyone else in the family understood Akshara and were on her side. The reason why they left was because of Bhabhimaa's old-age thought and andhavishwas in that priest. There was a very good balance between the family still respecting Bhabhimaa but also making sure never to blame Akshara for what happened. All of Naitik's siblings and elders (besides Bhabhimaa) had no complaints from Akshara.

(3) There was an entire track dedicated to Akshara confronting Bhabhimaa and explaining that she was never at fault. After that soooo many episodes were dedicated to Bhabhimaa apologizing for her mistake and doing everything to give Akshara the respect she deserved in the house. She even apologized to the rest of the family for her folly because of which Naitik, Akshara, Naksh, and Naira had to stay away from the house for ten years.

Goenkas and Birlas actually have a rishta which is undefined till now. Some or the other Goenka kid becomes the reason for accidents/death of a Birla sadasya. First Kairav and Anisha, now Akshara with Neil. The next will be Aarohi with Abhimanyu and then tata bye bye🤡
