P.S. what was your in-laws/bae's/ or anyone who's tasted your dish reaction towards your dish...

Such a sweet topic! We don’t really follow this tradition at my in-laws and I’m so thankful because I would be to nervous and mess something up for sure 😂😭😭! It been a long time but I think I made tea if that counts 😂😭

South Indian so my family didn’t have any such rasams, and husband’s family was like Birlas, that is doctor household, but not so toxic. My husband and I were the only ones in our house (own house) I remember waking up at like 11 to complete silence 😆 and making halwa because I wanted to be like the TV bahus 🤣

Also we had been dating for forever by then, and we had already cooked for each other more times than can be counted, so literally no one cared.

As a South Indian watching Tv for so many years, I was so excited to be able to finally do all those things they show in serials but dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye.

My MIL asked me to prepare kheer but I didn't knew in fact I still don't know how to prepare kheer. 😅 On top of that mere ko tabhi periods ho gaya (that kheer was for some pooja) so my MIL only prepared kheer on behalf of me. 🤣😂

I'm not married but I helped mom in making gulab jamuns and cake and independently I can make few things like dhokla, Chote Bhature, cakes and cookies.

First time I made Paneer Butter Masala for everyone and they all enjoyed it 😁

Arre nai. My hand was fine.. I could straighten up the puri ..the cook was very impressed n said "aapka ghar set hai"🤣 the anti climax is that my mil always said I don't want my dil to cook..I want her to be a society person, which I am not 😆

Nowdays ..I can't say about everyone but in my circle , in laws know that the girl doesn't know how to cook, they don't expect her to do it either ..our kids r busy with their studies , they hardly wanna learn it ..some of them.do coz they love it..we don't follow it as a ritual or a rasm like it's compulsory . So much hue and cry over a ritual on itv but people r more accommodating and understanding these days ..
