I completely understood why she said that. Akshu is someone who doesn't think she deserves to be loved. She even said it to Abhi. She has spent her entire life giving and giving and giving without getting anything in return. She has always been sidelined. So, whenever anyone shows her even the slightest bit of affection, she becomes overwhelmed. And this is heightened towards Aarohi, because Akshu has literally gone to the ends of the earth for her, whereas Aarohi has never done anything for her. So, when Aarohi does even the smallest thing for her, she gets emotional and overwhelmed. She called her the best sister ever in the height of those emotions. Abhi tried to reason with her, saying that this is nothing compared to what Akshu has done for Aarohi...but that is impossible for Akshu to understand at this point, because she just sees the good in people and goes along with it. One of the most powerful scenes to me in the entire show has been the way in which Akshu was looking at Abhi when he was defending her during the mandir kaand. No one had ever spoken up for her like that, and she was completely taken aback. This girl is so neglected and abused and it makes my heart break.
Did you think Arohi would be called best sister ever? If that can happen then anything can. But I hope you are right.
