Is fun polls on yrkkh and Abhimanyu an attack forum members? - Page 3

I don't know about polls but lemme talk about things I noticed in the forum. When the leap happened, I saw quite a few members unhappy with HC's casting as Abhimanyu. Some members went overboard and started age shaming Harshad for being cast opposite Pranali. Then fans of his previous show's costar who anyway hate him for reasons best known to them joined and things got worst. Finally mods came right on time and probably issued warning and the age shaming stopped.

Then Abhimanyu and all other characters started doing nonsensical stuff in the show and the trolling started. Initially the trolling was healthy. Every problematic character including Akshara were roasted but then slowly people probably realized it's more fun to troll Abhimanyu than any other character. The trolling increased so much that I felt people started whitewashing other problematic characters to make fun of Abhimanyu. Someone wrote Akshara should not be bashed for breaking Abhimanyu's heart because she is bin maa baap ki anaath bachhi and Abhimanyu should understand her feelings and the reasons behind her actions. But how would he? Does this guy know Akshara and Aarohi are step sisters? No! Does this guy know the problems between the two sisters? No! Lol Akshara didn't even let him know she's sacrificing her love for him to gain the love and trust of her step sister. It's only during that drunk night she revealed to him the reason and called him a 'sabse pyaari cheez' that she's sacrificing for her sister. Nowadays people have started defending even Aarohi to troll and bash Abhimanyu. They come up with all kinds of excuses to defend the Goenka sisters but would start trolling Abhimanyu even in the scenes where the trolling is not required. The thing is people have gone overboard with this excessive trolling which should reduce. Trolling karo but thode limit mein. That's what I would say.

To all the people voting yes, unless you give you reason, nobody would be able to guess and eliminate what you consider as offensive. People will keep making posts and polls without knowing how it can offend. So please, give you reasons if you would like to. 😊

Most of the whitewashed post you come across is from ppl who prefer to get away from the real life and actually watch a character just becos they like and can talk about him/her freely without the judgmental eye rolls! Isiliye tho hum sab yahan hai! We have evolved from Ekta’s tv audience to Rajan Shahi’s Hotstar audience! Besides that, we are still just ‘audience’ !!
It’s a little expected to see the posts you consider offensive in IF forums which are essentially why these forums are created in the first place — to discuss without judgments! after all it’s just a tv show with no connection to real world and no one is looking to learn a lesson from male lead’s passive aggressive toxicity or female lead’s unrealistic tyag bari avtar 😊
Most happy to engage in healthy discussions/polls that tone down without jumping to aggressive conclusions!!

But these are personal opinions, right? I see posts I have strong disagreements with and I move on without engaging with them, and I don't expect people to stop posting them on my behalf. At the same time how can anyone expect other people to behave according to their likes. It doesn't really matter who makes what posts. Someone would want to live in the fairy ITV world for a few minutes, another someone would want to watch a bit more evolved characger. So people post whatever they want. I didn't know forum was created only for praising and uncritical discussions. Even if it was, there are no codified rules and every space evolves.

All I am saying is everyone should have equal rights. If people wanna post positive things, they should be able to. If people want to roast and troll characters they should be able to. Why do we strive for double standards? 😊

And for the disproportionate number of trolling posts, how can anyone do anything about it. Forum is a democratic space. The only way to counter it is make as many as positive posts that one would like to read. Curtailing others freedom of speech do not feel right to me. 😒

So then what was ur purpose behind making this poll if u r saying people should ignore others excessive trolling Abhimanyu? That's what people have been doing till last few days na. It's just that when these jija roasters went way too overboard people started voicing their opinions. U asked, why are people finding Abhimanyu trolling offensive and some of us replied its because the roasters are going overboard with it. Someone opened a thread trolling him some time ago and we're as usual ignoring it just like we always do. If people open threads mocking these jija roasting threads then others too should ignore them. Maybe next time when someone starts whitewashing the Goenka sisters while trolling Abhimanyu please give some gyaan to them too as u r so much against whitewashing. 😊After all, Abhimanyu trolling can be done without whitewashing other characters too.

You are completely misquoting me. All I said was my personal opinion. I didn't give gyan to anyone. It was just an attempt to know whether fun polls about characters are a personal attack on forum members which I detailed in my title as well as in the post. But what I found is that people don't like it but it is not an attack on any members. That's all what I want to know. Anyone can whitewash and criticise anyone they want. I am not really bothered about it and I am not going to tell anyone anything to do. I wanted clarity on some things. And @Ambajee was kind enough to provide that.

I personally feel like I have to tread on egg shells when I post because anything I.e anything at all even his belief in Mahadev for example ( just an example) I appreciate about Abhi will be scorned upon; I also feel that I have to put a disclaimer saying that I understand what actions might come across as offensive or patriarchal or misogynistic but I also want to look at things from his POV.

However, I am afraid to look at things from his POV and try and figure out why he did what he did because it worries me that I will be called anti- feminist just because I chose to see why Abhi did what he did.

This is just an example.

Just the fact that I am having to state that this is just an example 3 times is kinda why I am uncomfortable about posting and why it's tiresome to even start a topic.
