Chapter 3
Surveillance and Punishment; A Foucauldian Analysis
In his primary work Discipline and Punish, Foucault discusses about Benthem's panopticon. The concept of an architecture with a central tower that can enhance surveillance and ensure discipline in prisoners. In the modern world increasing use of digital technology has permeated every aspect of our lives, every structure we inhabit have become a panopticon.
Aarohi's current predicament is a perfect case study for this. Her indisciplined life has been under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, Mahima and Shefali. This surveillance is what will result in the penalisation and disciplining of Aarohi. Chomsky suggests the same about the power of surveillance.
Foucault also argues knowledge is power. Till now, Abhimanyu has been devoid of knowledge about so many aspects. I think the creatives are exploring this by depicting the power he acquires with gaining the knowledge, take smart decisions and use it in a positive way, since Foucault also suggests power can be positive as well.
PS: Today tho my academic juices are flowing.
you mean the other FOUCAULT right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
KNOWLEDGE is used so WISELY in this show
it is used to make people JUMP to new HEIGHTS
and BREAK THINGS
Maate hume aapke sharan main le lijiye 🙏
Meri thesis aapko paake dhanya ho jayegi.
I don't know about Mahima but Shefali is the best in her job, chahe parth kuch bhi bole.🤪
Matlab kya bolu main, chalti car se bhi usne Aarohi ko pehechan liya.
Itne jaldi toh Cheel [Vulture] saap ko bhi nahi dekhta jitne jaldi Shef ne Aarohi ko dekha
Bus humpar ehsaan kijiye ki yeh Manju jaise Review main nahi asali research main daale aur use kare👏

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER - MICHEL FOUCAULT
- YRKKH
- ABHIMANYU BIRLA
Beautifully penned
All the characters are responsible for their own.actions
Making others people responsible is like they are not ready to accept their own fault. All three of them are flawed and they have something good among them no one is totally dark. Akshara believes in love and for her love is base of every relationship , Abhimanyu is clear what he his heart wants and same goes for Aarohi... She knows what she wants for herself.
FOUCAULT PENDULUM - LEON FOUCAULT FOR ABHIMANYU BIRLA 🤪

In the modern world increasing use of digital technology has permeated every aspect of our lives, every structure we inhabit have become a panopticon.
Aarohi's current predicament is a perfect case study for this. Her indisciplined life has been under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, Neil, Mahima and Shefali. This surveillance is what will result in the penalisation and disciplining of Aarohi. Chomsky suggests the same about the power of surveillance.

Chapter 4
Aarohi; The Machiavellian Princess
Machevelli's political theory is core to understanding how states behave in international realm. It belongs to the radical realism of International relations theory. However I find it exceptionally apt in analyzing our favourite antagonist Aarohi, because she is not just an institution but a state of her own.
According to Machiavelli, a good prince/ruler is the one who ensures the glory and survival of themselves and their kingdoms. Thus, any immoral means used to achieve these ends are completely justified, just like how our Aarohi is trying to achieve the pinnacle of her dreams by hook or crook.
Through his book "The Prince" he discusses in detail how a strong ruler should be. He points out that a ruler who reached that stature by hardwork has a stable position as the monarch because they succeeded in effectively crushing their opponents which our Aarohi has been doing since childhood achieving all her dreams and ensuring Akshara remains in her shadow.
Machiavelli also discusses about the rulers who achieved the status because of other people's virtues, will find the position unstable and have a hard time keeping it. This is what we are witnessing right now with respect to Aarohi trying to win Abhimanyu. She is going to marry Abhimanyu not because of her virtue but her luck created by Akshara's virtues. Hence, she is dealing with the instability and chaos that could result in her kingdom crumbling.
He also points out one of the major strengths of a kingdom and thereby king, is its military capabilities. Aarohi ensured that as well. Primarily it's her tongue with which she lashes out at virtuous people like Akshara, and another is her nuclear bomb which is her ally Harsh.
Hence, I would like to conclude this chapter by stating that we may or may not like her but Machiavelli definitely approves of her as a strong princess.
