I have been inactive on this forum for long and Abhira brought me here.. Heres a small SS on today's episode

Am going to take my head off Abhira a bit.. let's ship Abhi - Neil.. the cutest bro pair ever..

Pretext

The scene begins from where Akshara leaves the room after her encounter with Abhi

Abhi is furious that Neil took Akshu s help in planning the party. Though the party had lifted his mood off a bit and he did smile whole heartedly on hearing and seeing his mother sing; bitterness took over him on seeing her again. He cursed his fate and himself for not being able to move on as well as not being able to breathe without thinking about her. His body shook with all the emotions he was undergoing together at once

Neil saw that his brother had turned his back on him but he was not the one to give up on his brother. The elder brother whom he adored and meant the world to him. His brother had not given up on him when he needed the most and Neil definetly was not going to give up.

He saw Abhis body trembling and wanted to take him into a brotherly embrace right away. However this was to be safely threaded upon.

"Bro" he called softly and tried to brace for the reaction

"Close the door on your way out " his cold voice astounded Neil. His die hard attitude edged him closer to his brother

"No bro I won't; I am not going to walk out on you ; not now not today" he said his voice firm

"Neil please understand, I need to be alone " Abi said his voice dangerously low now which meant he could erupt anytime.

"Sorry bro" Neil said his voice breaking

"For what are you sorry? For arranging a celebration for me when I categorically told you not to ? For going behind my back to her for help for planning the party I told you not to ? For hiding this all from me and for lying to me on my face for the past one week ? To make me feel what I felt when I am struggling to move on ? For what are you sorry for Neil " he screamed as he grabbed a paper weight and smashed it on the floor venting out his frustration.

" I just wanted to see you smile bro " Neil said his voice choked. The brother who had his back was now furious

"Well let's say that you have failed in that" Abhi shouted back

"You crossed a line today Neil; you just crossed a line today. This was beyond you. Just know your limits " Abhi shouted for one last time and left the room slamming the door.

Neil sat down dazed. Not that he was not used to hearing this. He had heard all his life about how he was a disappointment to the family from his father ; his uncle and aunt: his cousin brother. It was his brother who had his back , every single time. His mother loved him too but she herself was subject to emotional harassment.

Today Neil felt the world crashing around him to hear this from the one person who loved him unconditionally..

I'm glad somebody took a different take to the whole situation. It must have been hard for Akshu and Abhi, but equally devastating for Neil and Manjiri. They tried to do something really good, and everything was working fine until this disaster.

I feel so bad for Neil. He did it for his brother's smile, and had to bear the brunt of his anger. :/

Loved this OS, we all needed a break from Abhira to get our heads clear and this was the best way. I’m so glad you decided to focus this on Neil and Abhi and how Neil felt after everything he did to bring his bros smile back. As much as Abhira are suffering, I think equally Neil and Manjiri are suffering. Please update soon.

"You are a good for nothing useless fellow " Dr. Harshawardhan Birla screamed at the top of his voice as he delivered a hard slap on Neil's cheek.

"How dare, how dare you fail your medical entrance; that too in this family of top surgeons; you idiot? Don't know what God gave you in the place of brains " he shouted as he slapped Neil again.

" Papa?" Neil began with tears streaming down his cheek

" Dont you dare call me by that , you are nothing but a waste of space; you are a mistake i made in my life after my marriage ; I resent you" he bellowed.

"Leave him Harsh ; it's a waste of time; " Dr. Anand Birla ; the so called head of the family said haughtily as his Dr.Mahima Birla smirked.

"i am sorry please !!" Neil folded his hands " I never wanted to do medicine. I was scared and never could tell this to anyone of you. I want to write.. I want to study English literature " he said with his head down

"What nonsense" Harsh spat out.. " who do you think you are ? You think you'll excel in life? You ll forever remain a good for nothing; he said looking straight at an already distraught Neil.

"You can find your way out of the house. You and us have nothing now . Get lost " Harsh said..

"Please ; where will he go? " Manjiri sobbed rushing to Neil's rescue. Manjiri didn't birth Neil but loved the kid from the bottom of her heart. She considered Neil as one of her own kids

"I dont care. What else to expect from him, he has turned out just like you " he shouted , never respecting his wife as human

"No one is going anywhere " Dr.Abhimanyu Birla spoke in a clear voice as he strode inside the room. One could say that he was calm but people who knew him well could say there was a volcano building inside of him ready to burst anytime.

Dr.Abhi as how he was lovingly referred to by the patients and staff was one of the most sought off doctors in the city; primarily given his empathy and understanding which he reflected in treatment of his patients. He was clear that he would not place money over humanity; much to the displeasure of his father and uncle who valued influence, wealth and status.

Abhimanyu's childhood was not exactly happy. He learnt of his father's affairs at a very tender age of 8 and grew up seeing his mother subject to physical and mental harrasment. He grew up wanting to be nothing like him.

At the age of 15: he overheard his father talking to an orphanage and learnt that his father had impregnated his mistress. He was shook to know that he had a 10 year old brother whose mother had passed away while giving birth. Breaking down he confided in his mother the secret.

"No one is going anywhere " he said once again.ill repeat what I told you earlier. He goes out; I go out too. And I'll reconsider my decision to practice medicine at your hospital Sir " he told

Looking highly unconcerned about anyone else in the room, Abhi took his brothers hand in one hand of his; his mothers in the other and left the room.

" I am sorry Bro.. I am sorry ." Neil sobbed into his elder brothers arms.

" ill go away from here..I have let down everyone.. I dont deserve your love. . You have done so much for me but I have let you down. I have let everyone down . I will go away from here.. thats best for everyone. I am a non fit here. I have no right here. . I am not a part of this family.. please let me go. Its best I go and die somewhere " he continued to cry into his brothers comforting shoulders

" Chup : Bilkul chup " Abhi said comforting his brother holding him tight in his embrace trying not to break down himself.. Manjari sat next to them rubbing Neil's back.

Abhi wiped the tears of Neil's eyes and said " I know its your dream to write. Ill make sure you do. And you are going to make me proud " he said earnestly .

"I'll let you down. One day I'll disappoint you and that day you will regret me." Neil told in a small voice

"Shut up. Dont you dare think of leaving me " Abhi told. " I am going to give you a small injection which will help you sleep you need to sleep okay " ill be right here. Abhi said and sat by his brother the whole night ; worried the kid may try to be reminded of the trauma which he just underwent.

Back to present ...

Neil was still sitting in Abhis office as his life replayed before his life. Most of the good moments of his life contained his brother who had his back unconditionally. Abhi had made him study literature and he had just pitched in his idea to a few publishers who were willing to see his work.

It was 5 years since that incident and 12 years since Abhi had brought him into the house. The only people who loved him in the house were his brother and mother. His brother loved him probably a tad higher than his mother as well.

All he had wanted was to bring a smile back onto his brothers face. He felt responsible for the fiasco caused in the first place with giving Aarohis number. The guilt weighed him down as he had failed his brother...
