I think he knows Naira asked Swarna to get him remarried, and he's just testing the waters, like how far can Naira actually go.

I really hope there's more to this story than Kartik just agreeing for marriage to spite Naira. If that's the case, than whatever little goodness was left in kartik's character during the separation, would be lost as well.
