Maybe she only took the decision of giving away shobham when she found out she gave birth to a boy, but they never touched upon this. I wish they could have given a more solid reason for swarna's actions. I don't think manish would have neglected shobham in favour of karthik the way he and dadi did to keerti, because son's are always put on a pedestal in this family.
That's why I said was Kirti's matter entirely Manish's fault. I never said it wasn't his fault at all. Manish was wrong, when at Karia Vivah he noticed Aditya's mood was odd but be did not notice Kirti's pain and he was wrong on other similar instances as well. Was he wrong alone though, wasn't Kirti hiding the matter. I do understand that she maybe scared, uncomfortable, had her own valid reason for not speaking up, but she did hide the matter. If a person is hiding something from you is hard to get to know the truth but when he did Manish supported Kirti immediately. Like you have said about Karthik and Aditya getting more. Goenkas are/was a family where the girl becomes parayi after the wedding, her responsibility is of her husband. Like Suvarna said during Aditya's exposure, it was something like, 'we used to keep you happy so that you keep our daughter happy'. The family felt if Aditya would be pleased, their daughter would stay happy. The matter wasn't about Manish's love for Karthik, rather the Goenka family thinking.
I don't remember Manish ever neglecting Kirti that too for Karthik, for Aditya, yes. If you are talking about dadi neglecting Kirti for Karthik, then yes. If you are talking about Manish neglecting Kirti, in business, like Kirti showing interest but Manish not understanding and neglecting what she wants then yes, but I wouldn't blame Manish's love for Karthik, that wasn't the reason, it was that it was common for Goenkas beti / bahu to work. Even if Karthik didn't exist wouldn't the mentality be the same.
I think Suvarna took the decision earlier as there was a where they say that Suvarna went to her mayka, village which had no proper facilities for delivery. Suvarna's village is not very close. I don't think after the labour pain started the family would have allowed her to go, so she must have go earlier and even knowing that there is no proper facility going, there is a possibility her reason for leaving was to give birth away from the family.
Though in the same scene I remember they had also mentioned that Manish as well was coming to the village but then got the news that Karthik was injured and went or his boarding. If Suvarna's brother pointed this out saying something like, Suvarna felt that Karthik's accident and you taking long to come, was an indication of her to give up Shubham, or something like that would have made a lot more sense. Even if he had to point out Manish's love for Karthik as the reason which Suvarna made her decision, I would prefer more relatable reasons like Manish going to an injured Karthik and not Suvarna, things that happened during the pregnancy period rather then bringing matters of the time where Suvarna wasn't even married to Manish.
