Hi All,
I have not watched all the episodes, but I am very curious about this serial because anyone with a Bidaai track record can be reasonable trusted. Rajan Shahi is an extremely gifted director.
So based on what I have seen so far, I think YRKKH is a very relevant and mature serial. On the face of it, it just appears like a frothy love story. But it has deeper content and just as in the case of Bidaai, the emphasis is on the characters and not the actors.
Here is why I felt this serial is mature and relevant.
1. It tackles several socially relevant issues, without making in-your-face scenes.
For Example
a) Akshara saying no one asked her if she wants to marry Naitik- Despite the progress in society, many families in India truly never take the girl's choice into account (Aap ki Kacheri, another fantastic reality serial, has highlighted this many times)
b) Varsha and Akshara's conversation that a girl can have her point of view - very true, but in how many societies and religions is this accepted?
c) Akshara's mom's conversations with her, scolding her for not being a subdued personality - Again a reality in many societies where only women are supposed to conform
d) Akshara's brothers conversation with Varsha that Akshara cannot freely meet guys - Why such double standards for his sister when he did not think twice about romancing another girl from an equally respectable family
e) Varsha's mom and Dadi's right to play Holi - this was by far the most powerful scene in this serial. And some very powerful dialogues by Dadi. That why deny a widow a right to live for an natural event like her husbands death. Full marks to Rajan Shahi for highlighting this👏👏👏
2. The language
In times of "Main tulli ho gayi" and bad words used on reality shows (eg the verbal skills of various contestans and Saroj Khan and Vaibhavi on Jhalak Dikhlaja Jaa), its great to hear simple unadultrated Hindi
3. The age old but basic concept of what freedom means to someone
Be it Akshra's dilemmna of choosing her individuality or conforming to the world, or Varsha's mom's and Dadi's desire to lead a life and not just exist as a conforming widow, YRKKH deals with the powerful concept of what individual freedom means to all of us.
And for this reason alone, this is a great serial to watch.👏

Guys I have been watching YRKKH from the beginning but never shared my views here. This is the first time I am writing something in this forum. Not that i am new to IF.I have been active in other forums.Coming to the point I love this show very much. There are many reasons one being the characters they are so lovable. The way parents are scared for their daughter's future. The way kids respect their parents. The way the kids are pampered by their parents specially our naitik.etc etc.If I start writing about why I like this show it will take me the whole night and I have to wake up in the morning and send my daughter to school. So i am just making myself stop.Sorry if i have bored u all with my bakwas but wanted to share. Thanks for reading.

Awesome post, yaar! Very well said!👏👏

In the past two weeks especially, the show has really been going great....And I totally agree with you about how they highlight very relevant and important issues in a subtle manner.

For example, in today's epi, Shaurya and Varsha's convo about why it is that the girl is not expected to be able to stand up for what she believes in or what her viewpoints are....the way Shaurya acts so dismissive and just says that guys have their egos and like to prove their point.....the way Varsha replies to this was fantastic! I liked that the scene wasn't preachy and it soon flows into being a little tiff b/w hubby-wife and her storming off with 'shaadi kyun ki phir mujhse'😆😆.....

Hey thanks so much for replying. I wrote a few posts on IF and no one seems to reply. I am a newbie so maybe people dont want to respond.
Thanks again for the time.😊
And also for your comments. I agree with you. Even I felt that the scene between Shaurya and Varsha was beautifully taken. They showed it very plainly but the content was not lost. Shaurya's thinking when it comes to women seems very restrictive, Although he was quite right when he pointed out that many guys have their ego he he he, I felt that the way he dismissed something important bothering his sister was quite telling.
And Varsha is too good. Feisty yet very sincere, I quite like her character.
Rajan Sir really knows how to blend his stories well. This looks to be a promising serial like Bidaai.
Regards

very well said dear
I completely agree to what U have said
In today's society too there are children who are married so young.
the girl is not asked for her answer.
girl cannot go out alone, always akshara needed varsha for anything, otherwise her parent wouldnt send her
brother could romance a girl but when he saw his sister with someone, he beat up that boy without getting to know the reason
All this does happen in society
but dadi's character is wonderful
she is shown & is leading the way to show how widowed women can live in the society
So I would say (for this reason & many more) that theis show highlights what's going on in society & if there is anything worng then how can the society change!!!!!!!!!!!!!
showing the reality & the path to go too!!!!!!!!

Hi pavani,
welcome to YRKKH forum
this show's simplicity make it a lovable show
characters are lovable even the servants like bhola or dhaniya
the show gathered lot of audience from the beginning due to a person like Rajan Shahi & then they really cashed on it, without giving the audience a chance to move away!!!!!!!! hats off to them

I don't see this happening around me but yes this is the reality in many families...men do have an upper hand in everything......everytime, there r expectations from the girl..she should adjust n all, take care of the family, the home....but the city culture is changing rapidly....i see college going girls have all the independece (though i don't support it much) from their parents, they are treated like boys and at the time of marriage, their opinion matters most...some of them r spoilt rotten by their parents....women are now equal, infact superior to men....that's why the number of divorces have increased....bec. when both men and women are strong headed, they refuse to give in n differences increase.....
the serial gets regressive at times ...i love it only bec. of Akshara and Naitik.....whatever they wanna show, they must do it in moderation bec. it loses it balance very soon and very easily....i get frustrated with the way it progresses sometimes...(best eg. is when Rituraj rejected Akshara and the drama that followed was intolerable)
I agree with nureat..past 2 weeks have been outstanding n created so much interest in the show tht it's difficult to leave it now :)
