Ohh haha...I do remember that show...it had Gaurav and Yami in it...that toh hardly had an urban vibe at all like YPN does, man...it was more rural in it's mindset with the way the caste issue was tackled. It barely had a Hrishikesh Mukherjee vibe for 1 month...lol went down the drain pretty fast.

The appeal of YPN for me lies in part in it's urban setting and no loud shrewish aunties as vamps...even Sid's mom is not the typical TV middle class mom...there's such a natural vibe to her even in the way she serves parathas to her husband with those amused quips of hers.

I came across this show last weekend and binged on it till i was all caught up and even though i really enjoyed the show I didnt want to commit to it, after being grealty dissapointed by a show i was following for more than a year. But the the story and characters compelled me to watch it and I can safely say I am glad i did now i am looking forward to the whole plot unfold. The whole treatment of the show with real locations and costume and dialogues make it a refreshing watch when 99% of the shows on tv are filled with ott drama. The plot is layered leads sensible and despite Reddys snotiness the characters are realistic. I like how each character is well thought out and well placed so no character seems extra. I also love the emphasis and time used to show the leads relationships not just with each other but other characters as well. I also like how the show treats other relationships in the show especially the senior generation. I am intrigued by kk-prabhakar equation and i also love the senior sinhas marriage. The characters are not one dimentional if Prabhakar is strict with Sid he is loving to his wife showing the softer side. I also like kk-Anushka bond but i still need more on the Reddy mom, so far i cant get a read on her. But wht i really appreciate that despite being angry with each other the leads especially the ML agenda is not to seek 'revenge' on each other by harming each other but more about one upping or proving the other wrong.

+1...same here...quite thankful for the lack of typical angry "revenge" agenda from ML...here Sid just wants to prove a point to Anushka, to his father about his own abilities...it's his general life philosophy, not just some desire to seek revenge from Anushka...he still clearly cares for her a lot despite the hurt

And you make a good point about Reddys ki snottiness being so realistic too...this is exactly how high society ppl would go about their condescension...being casually dismissive of ppl beneath their social station but still wanting to use them as they please...baaki the power politics in the family are expected too given the competition to gain influence in their father's organization.

LOL you're from the IB forum na? haha I know which show has greatly disappointed you then...koi baat nahin, we can watch this for now😆

Yes. Remember the scene when Siddhant actually stopped her form eating that jaggery thing. I actually thought okay some shots will be fired now. He is going to hurt her like generally the male leads of Indian television do. But the boy pleasantly surprised me.
In fact the flashback that showed she is allergic to it was so amazing. That probably was the point I got hooked to this show.

Also when he accidently hit her in the badminton court, he left the game right away and even thought about it later on. I personally wanted much more on that scene as you all have mentioned already. Like a bit more would be an icing on the cake.

Yep from ib land frankly its quite weird to watch a show that is sensitive and sensible. But despite the dissapointment a little piece of heart is always with ib just for the lead pair of that show. But this show came at the right time for me so happy viewing to both of us and may the dissapointments be far and few.

🤣 I knowww...it's been too long since we watched something sensitive and sensible, haina? So much utter crap we've jheloed for so long just for NM-SC and ofcourse will always have a soft corner for them but it's good to have something sensible to watch after a long time...so here's hoping YPN can keep providing that for a bit atleast.
