Good to see a familiar face 😃 Have always enjoyed reading your posts.

Ditto on BBKD, the Sinha family reminded me of the Pants. And similar to that, I doubt this show would also last long enough. Or it would probably turn into another YPNHK.

In fact it has highest TRP among Sony shows and has earned a lot of appreciation for the beautiful depiction of 90s. In fact our show depends heavily on yudkbh ... both for audience and TRP.

LOL you seem to be misconstruing my post.

Not sure where you reached the understanding that I was talking about the TRPs of the said show...the show falls flat to me personally cuz I don't see any substance in it...endless cheesy 90s song sequences don't amount to substance in my eyes...If you are enjoying the show, that is your prerogative and you are more than welcome to enjoy it...doesn't mean I need to enjoy it too *shrugs*

I'm enjoying YPN cuz I see substance in it...which means this show will likely not survive on Sony very long...lol...that does not seem to be Sony's criteria for measuring success. Anyways, so far I'm happy to watch a show which provides scope for substantive discussion beyond cheesy cliches.

Again, these are all just my opinions...I'm really not interested in how the 10:30 show's ratings impact those of YPN or vice versa *shrugs*

Nice post. I am loving the simplicity of the show. So far like you said the good part is there is no cliched romance. I even like the teenage ones. Plus Sid 's family is interesting. Even i am warming to Anushka .

Thank you :)

I'm really appreciating the simplicity too...the natural interactions b/w family without OTT camera or sound effects...the natural locations help add freshness too.

Yes, I'm pleasantly surprised about the understated quality to the "romance" if you will...it's very rare to find a show these days which focuses on the undercurrents more than overt behavior...Sid's family is very interesting...Reddys get annoying with their condescension sometimes but overall some interesting dynamics in all the characters.

Anushka also doesn't feel like the typical FL...she's tender hearted and naive but heartbreak has left her scarred so now she struggles with trying to harden her heart, determined to never let anyone hurt her again but she still finds herself helpless when it comes to Sid.

Same here. Interest span is too short these days. Was simply not watching anything until I got down with cold and had to take off from work and hence happened to watch the six episodes. Seems interesting so far. so far.

haha BBKD is Bade Bhaiyya ki Dulhania...the last show I diligently followed on Sony, which was unceremoniously cut short and packed up in under 3 months😆...that show had a slice of life and natural feel to it too...such shows rarely survive on Sony...they prefer more half-baked or convoluted stuff😆

Thanks, bohemian...good to see you here too :) What a lovely quote you have there in your sig👏

Yes, the Sinhas absolutely remind me of the Pants without the level of madcap dysfunction I guess...lol...but the middle class simplicity is common among the families...

Err I'm not familiar with YPNHK...was that also on Sony?...all these shows seem to have such similar acronyms...haha...too long for me to type out so I'm sticking with YPN for this show for now

And I am pleasantly surprised as well.
Had no clue abt the show, was flipping channels and came across it . Then did a marthon catchup.
The show does remind me of EDKV for some reason.

Now that am hooked to it, only hope/fear is Sony lets it run its course..

Thanks, it is one of my favorites.

YPNHK is Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam... quite an old one on Colors that went with the concept Brahmin ka beta. Kayasth ki beti. Had a Hrishikesh Mukherjee feel to it before it got 'Color-ized'

I guess this show is by the makers of EKDV, hence the deja vu for some ppl...I never liked EKDV and personally find this show way better😆...the rest toh remains to be seen if Sony lets this one stay true to it's story.
