Firstly if it was me, a situation like that wouldn't have even arosen. I would have shut the old hag within two seconds.Who the hell is that lady to talk crap about somone elses family. If the girl hadn't said anything, i would have percieved her as spineless with absolutely no self respect and pride.
Why marry someone whos family treats you and your family less than trash. Why tolerate someone demeaning you infront of an audience, WHY ? Why are girls targeted and expected to keep quiet for the sake of respect. I've had enough of seeing shows portray women as carpet to be treaded and stepped on without any consideration.
For me Rashmi didnt do enough. She should have stood up and told the old lady that its embarressing to see a women of her age talking about traditions and etc when she herself proved by her low words that she has not learnt the meaning of respect despite being old.
