Smita Bansal who replaced Sheetal Thakkar in the serial took up the contract knowing well that though it was a meaty role but would last no more than three months.She plays Pooja's sister in the serial.Now that her character is already shown in a mental asylum, it will also come to an end shortly.

As of now, Smita is taking a break from work for a month and preparing to go on a holiday and spend some quality time with her family. She also plans to start reading some scripts soon . "I quit CID consciously sometime back , where my character has already come to an end. I worked with the CID team for a year and eventually gave up the idea of continuing with it because it was a time consuming project which allowed me to spend very little time with my daughter what with me shooting for 27days a month at a stretch.. Also it's a heavy duty show which is essentially male dominated and turned out to be exhausting for me so I thought it was better I parted ways," says Smita, matter of factly
