Star Plus’ popular medical series ‘Sanjivani’ has been given a three-month extension, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

Producer Siddharth P Malhotra told BizAsiaLive.com that the show will be moving from its current 19:30 slot to 18:30 in India, with a new agreement in place from 25th January. Elaborating on this, Malhotra said, “We finished our prior 6 months contract term on the 25th, and now it’s extended to a new slot at 6:30.”

Depending on the success of ‘Sanjivani’ in the 18:30 slot, Star Plus can extend the show for a further six months. Malhotra added, “3 months as per contract at 6:30, extendable to 6 months more.” He also teased that there were plenty of “surprises coming up” on ‘Sanjivani’ to keep the popularity alive in the 18:30 slot.

In the UK, ‘Sanjivani’ sits at the No.1 position as the most watched Hindi fiction in UK ratings (week ending Sunday 29th December 2019). The show will continue to air as normal in the UK.

‘Sanjivani’ has made way for new show ‘Dadi Amma Maan Jaao’, which will take the 19:30 slot in India. It was earlier reported that this Rajshri series was to replace ‘Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka’ but due to its popularity, it has been extended.
