No saas-bahu sagas for Shristy

This chirpy little thing is having a blast... she's loving her role as the college girl Manjari in Yeh Ishq Haaye. But what many don't know is that 19-year-old Shristy Rode's father too has been a part of the industry as director of photography.

He in fact didn't want her to take up acting as a career and always kept her away from it. "But just when I was 16, I got an offer from Ekta Kapoor's production house and I couldn't say no," says Shristy. The actress then went on to doing many ads and was approached for many serials. "After my first serial, I got many offers but they were all saas-bahu sagas.

I wanted to do something that would suit my image and age, then Yeh Ishq Haaye happened and I grabbed the offer," says the bubbly girl. Ask her how's she managing her studies now and she says, "That's quite a struggle but I am going to work things out. I want to study and finish my graduation."
