Akshay started filling up balloons while Ajay started with the wall hangings. Manjari was taking care of the ceiling portion. As she was standing on top of the stool, akshay noticed that one of the legs was shaky. Before anyone could realize it....Manjari lost her balance...just then Akshay rushed to catch her...which he did just in time.
She had closed her eyes...n held on tight to him. She slowly opened one eye to see that Akshay and held on firmly to her. For a fraction of a sec he felt like she blushed but he yelled at himself in his mind for even still hoping.
He immediately put her down gently. Ajay rushed to her and held her hands in concern.
Ajay - "Tum thik toh ho na!! Kahin chot vot toh nahi lagi...." his frantic eyes scanned her for any wounds. On finding that shes quite well, he breathed a sigh of releif and smiled at her.
They gazed in to each other eyes during which Akshay found himself fighting another pang of pain inside his gut. He wished so much that he didn't still love her but he did. He always would.
He slowly took a few steps back from them...to return to his corner.
The party was a huge success! Ammu loved all the gifts and decorations and specially thanked Akshay for the great food! He felt nice to see her so happy. It made him forget his own sorrows for just a few mins.
The music was contiuned in the background and people soon got on to the dance floor. EVeryone broke up in pairs.
Akshay - "Tum usse dance k liye kyun nahi puchte.." he suggested.
Ajay - "Patah nahi bhai...usne mana kiya toh"
Akshay - "Tum dono ek saath dance competition jeet chuke ho...woh tujhe mana kar hi nahi sakti"
Ajay slowly and nervously approached her. He held out his hand for her and politely asked
Ajay - "kya tum mere saath dance karogi"
Without saying anything she looked in to his eyes, smiled and softly placed her hand in his. This was all to familiar to Akshay. Her falling in to his arms and then walking off
with someone else. He remembered the time when the same had happened with her dance partner Rishi. This time it was even harder for him to see, coz this time her dance partner
was none other than his own brother, Ajay.
Authors note - I know you must be wondering how there are so many Ajay - Manjari moments when the story is primarily Akshari. Well I wanted it to seem realistic and wanted it to be somewhat of a continuation of the current story line...so Akshay - Manjari would progress a bit slowly. :) Kindly leave your comments and feedback and I will try to improve
