Unrealistic Expectations as Fans? Just enjoying the show?

So first off, HI GUYS!

I'm ..Kavi.. and I've been on IF for a while now. I loved YHM in its initial days, mostly because I'd actually read the novel it was based on. However, then that show kind of lost its premise, and as a result, I stopped watching, and also didn't start watching YHC initially. But then quarantine boredom came along, and I decided to give it a shot, especially since it seems many of my favorite English shows may not be shooting for the fall seasons. Since one of my major ways of appreciating a show is to read fics, I thought I'd come to check out the YHC forum. However, instead of finding any fics, I found a long saga of social media drama. Now I'm not someone who particularly uses social media, I pretty much only have FB and Snapchat. So maybe that's why my views are a bit different, but I don't really see what social media has to do with enjoying the show. I mean, the 2 leads are still acting really well, so it isn't affecting their performances. Why is it really our business what the leads do on their socials? As long as they're doing their work and fulfilling all contractual obligations they are doing their job. And at the end of the day, it is just a job. I'm sure those of you who work would agree with me that even if you work with someone every day, you may not consider them a friend. I feel like in the age of SM it's easy to forget that actors have their own lives, and aren't obligated to play their reel roles whilst they aren't working. That's an unrealistic expectation to have as a fan IMO, and we should all just enjoy the really good acting that's going on.

On an unrelated note, would anyone be interested to read one-shots or drabbles if I wrote some? After all, if you want to read something that hasn't been written, you should write it.

I completely understand where you are coming from! I guess one of the major concerns that was primarily making some of the viewers mad was that Abrar was not promoting the jodi enough. I guess the rest of the stuff said should have been avoided regarding his personal life and etc. but this is what mainly instigated the response.

I am sure we’d love to read some RuSha fan fictions. Unfortunately there aren’t many writers in this forum.

Preach! i come into the forum for updates, thought about engaging a bit but then literally ulte pair laut gayi because peeps seemed obsessed with abrar posting about his girlfriend or something on insta and not 'promoting' yhc. who cares? if he's not contractually obligated to promote on his handle then why should he? its his personal social right? he may b public figure but show is for a year or few, his relationship is potentially forever. makes sense he posts about the latter than the former. and fans indeed are strange- they wanna know more about actors' life but want actors to lead the life fans think appropriate. thats not realistic at all. but i would so love more debate about the show and stories in this forum!

I understand that you are saying. You are talking as a viewer who likes Rusha. But there are many fans who like Abrar And Sargun and want to see their screen selfies and pics. They have some expectations from them. They are also not wrong but yeah I agreed that they should stop expecting from them.

Would like to read FF. I use to write and Read FFs on yhm forum .

Apart from the lack of promotion, the main thing we were disappointed about was the fact that he couldn’t stand up for his co-star Sargun. When he could make stories on insta about his ‘girl friend’ being attacked by so called Sargun fans, why doesn’t he bat an eye about Sargun being defamed and mocked at by his ex-show’s fans (which incidentally had his ‘girl friend’). Sargun had to face criticism just because their fav (the ‘girl friend’) wasn’t cast opposite Abrar in YHC. From day 1, Sargun has been called names and in almost every post related to the show on Instagram, they’d come and comment that Sargun looks ugly and her acting is bad and that she is looking like Abrar’s mother yada yada yada. Not once has Abrar asked his fans to stop all this bull shit. They used to post such comments in his posts too. And the ‘girl friend’ he has been defending has been going around liking, commenting and encouraging such trolls on Instagram.

This is what is irksome. We wouldn’t have cared about Abrar or his ‘girl friend’. They become a problem when the people involved do such things. If they had stayed out of the show and it’s fans, why would we be poking our noses into their lives?

wait shruti is his girlfriend? thats sweet! i watched the show! he was very good in it. thats y i watch yhc. soz no social. but again i understand that people getting emotional about things but if the girl is his girlfriend then thats his business no? whereas sargun is just a co-star maybe not even very close as friends. thus to me it makes sense that my partner would take a stand for me before his colleague. and if his girlfriend is liking all this then thats their issue to deal with. if sargun doesnt come out and complain about shruti nor oppose working with abrar then its none of our issue. we can say- oh she is too good to do that. but then thats her issue. its not our job to defend an adult woman who is clearly very capable. ppl only complicate things for actors like this. for all you know, she doesnt even care. did she post on social that she is mad? was there verified news that abrar's gf bothers her? if it doesnt seem to bother her then no need for me to be butt hurt about this.

anyways, point is that i do not wish to engage in all this cos its literally none of my business as a fan to be so involved in their personal lives. but the forum is literally half the time only talking about his social and talking about ending his career because he is not living his life according to them. thats poisonous speech. they're entertainers. unless committing crimes in their personal lives, they dont owe us beyond the hours they put in to give us 30mins of happiness. we as fans should be ashamed for demanding anything more. sorry but im too old to think otherwise. and would really appreciate if we rather spoke more about the show and less about the actors' personal life.
