So guys..I really want to know what pagphera rasm signifies...whats the thought behind it. I have watched it in many shows lekin kabhi yeh nahi pata chala ke why its performed.

Kiya ladki ke ghar wale ladki ko lene aate hain? Pooja toh Varun ke saath ayi thi.
How is the actual rasm supposed to be performed aur kiya Marwaris (aggarwal aur Maheshwaris) mein aisa hota hai ke ladki ke parents usse sasural se lene jaate hain aur phir shaam ko damaad aa kar usse ghar le jata hai?

I'm not indian so just know how rituals are performed by watching serials lekin I always found this paghphera rasm very cute and heartwarming and I would really like to know moore about it <3

There is pic of Bela ,Anand and Naina and they seem to be at samaina house ...so wonder if its just for pic or there is a scene of them there...

In my family the parents or brother goes to bring the girl from her Sasural and then husband comes to take her back... It may or may not be performed the next day of the marriage... In our side the priest takes out a mahurat for it

I too dont know much...but I think its to give the girl a comfort feeling of meeting her family after shaadi for a day...as she has to adjust to new house suddenly..so it will be a little comforting for her to meet her parents rather than feeling completely cut off...that shud be the intention..me thinks😆

Basically pagphera as the name suggests is a combination of two words
Pag= Feet
Phera= round

It literally means a newly wedded bride has to revert to her parental home after being turned into a suhagan (married woman) who is considered as goddess lakshmi. The basic rasam or custom is to call her back and take blessings from her who is now equivalent to goddess lakshmi.

So in order to invite her to their home respectfully, the members of family (mostly brother or parents ) go themselves to bring her back for usually a day or two and treats her like a goddess with lots of offerings in the form of gifts for her and her family.

And to take her to her actual home, her husband arrives who is further welcomed with a lot of respect and greetings. And eventually like in every indian festival such as Ganesh Chaturthi , Durga Puja where after worshiping God they do visarjan which symbolizes sending God to their actual home, similarly the bride is sent to her actual home.

Above is the mythological explanation.

However, this is a beautiful custom which is performed so that the parents assure their daughter is fully adjusted in her new home and they symbolize that even if she is being sent to her sasural she and her husband are part of their family and are always welcomed in her previous home with all the love.

I don't know the actual reason but in Aggarwal's or marwaris
Shadi k next day ladki ka bhai ya father jaate h use Lene. Next day the son in law goes to fetch his wife back

Aajkal couples ka pagphera Naam ka h coz shadi k next day they have to leave for HM so shadi wale din subah hi rasam ho jati h.
