Nice post says it all.She behaves different in different situations. Different behaviour for different persons.no anger on swati but in every situation she is angry on Sameer. No acknowledge of sameer's pain.

I just joined India Forum to acknowledge your post. At least I am not the only one that feels the disconnect with Naina at the moment and I am thankful that you wrote this post. I started watching YUDKBH because I being a 90s teen could connect with PVKM Naina's character very well. Her first time falling in love, her giddiness and dedication for Sameer and how she found strength to break out of her comfort zone because of her love for him was a thing of beauty and reminded me how similar we girls were at that age and time.

At college when Naina left Sameer, I could still relate because there were so many people who use to chicken out on their boyfriends/girlfriends at that time. Still some of my concerns during breakup were as follows.

- Blame as much as you can on Shefali for poisoning Naina's mind, but ultimately it was Naina's conscious choice to break up.

- She did not even attempt to make things work between her and Sameer. That was the end for her.

- We all came to know that Naina's priority was not Sameer but her family. Once she decided to break up, his pains, pleads and agonies did nothing to melt her heart and change her mind.

- She was ok with Sameer becoming self-destructive by becoming a Babaji but she was unwilling to break her family's trust. That is one hell of a priority for a girl in who claims to be madly in love.

- We also know that she would have married Sharad, had he not been crazy and had he not insulted her Chachaji.

However, my actual disconnect came not during the break up but when the break up ended because these questions were not answered for me by the writers.

- How it is ok to drag someone through a one sided break up and as soon as the situation becomes optimal for her, act as if she never broke up with him?

- She was crying "our love was a mistake during the break up but as soon as the situations were on her favor she saying I can do anything for Sameer. If she could do anything for him, why did she break up with him on the first place?

- The scene I loathed the most was the suicide drama. Just like in the earlier post, I felt she emotionally blackmailed Sameer and Munna into agreeing to what she wanted. I kept on contemplating on what if her Chachaji still disagreed and Sameer threatened to jump off the ledge? Would she have relented in the manner Sameer & Munna did at her threat or would she have left him at his fate?

Worst of all, the voiceovers are trying to praise Naina as the loving and dedicated girlfriend which I thought contradicted with her actions during breakup and makeup. In fact, I got sleepless nights for days thinking about it. I am still watching the show and I still like it but I usually block the makeup track from my mind so that I can still relate to the love Naina has for Sameer.

It is just my thought and hopefully I did not offend anyone.

Naina is slowly evolving from a girl with silly intuitions, silly superstitions , silly ideas into a more mature woman. She is impulsive and the impulsive behavior too is reducing with time.

one cannot except a character like naina to remain stagnant. Including the terrace scene, i have always connected to every stage of naina's character.

I was something at 16, i am something else now. Growth and change is the only constant thing in life.

While translating real life incidents on the silver screen, it may not appeal to people who are addicted to watching forever submissive female leads from times immemorial.

The difference between naina and other leads is that naina is flawed and not a gopi bahu who would say ji maaji ji maaji at the drop of the hat.

No, naina is evolving and not being discordant with reality. Naina was never practical in love, or life. Naina equally thinks from dil and dimag. And no, naina has always been smart. Being smarty pants is not patented character trait of fandom's raja beta sameer.

Cut naina some slack.

What matter is sameer and naina love eachother and this track of vishakha is needed to resolve ego issues if prevalent among them

I will not call it bashing ,but a disconnect to Naina's character is basically due to two things

1) her redemption track after breakup

2) her meeting with Vishaka

We also had similar tracks with Sameer

1) his redemption after bet

2) his meeting with chachaji

Now if we observe both cases

1) Sameer's redemption after the bet was beautifully written and executed , infact all of us wanted Naina to forgive him asap

2) his dialogues with chachaji were out of this world and hard hitting

But unfortunately with Naina her redemption after break up track ended with a pathetic suicide drama

And her meeting with Vishaka ,well the less said the better

With regards to Swati

Munna is supposedly to be on love with her since childhood and his her so called bf ,but it didn't take him a minute to break off ties with her ,and none of us complained ,yet we pointed fingers at Naina

During break up , Sameer proposed to shoe twice publicly and then ended it with a simple sorry ,yet none of us felt bad because of our mutual hatred towards shoe

Had it been anyone else perhaps we would hv felt bad and said the same as with Sharad ki agar ladka achcha hota toh shayad Naina would hv married him

So I feel instead of pointing fingers at any character ,we all as fans of serial and cast , should ask the cv's to show the growth of characters of both leads equally and unbiasedly

Warna humlog yahan ladaaye karenge aur baazi doosre forums wale lejaayenge 😛( we don't want to lose members ,as I feel already many hv stopped commenting )
