It was late in the afternoon and the stadium was now deserted, if one doesn't count the sweepers who were clearing the mess created by the students in the stands.The time however, stood still as Sameer and Naina stood wrapped around each other too closely, inside the warm and cosy changing rooms

Naina was still in Sameer's arms and her hands were on his naked chest, though her mouth was on his, as her tongue fought for dominance. Sameer was holding her dainty waist steadily, making sure that she doesn't collapse on the ground. As the second kiss ended, Sameer and Naina broke apart, panting for air, though neither of them was satisfied.

Sameer kept his hand on her face, as she shivered. He cupped her face and brought her lips back to his own, and Naina responded extremely enthusiastically. When Sameer had basically sucked all the sweetness out of her mouth, he broke away, only to meet her lips again after some time. They continued this cycle, until there was absolutely no energy left in Naina. She collapsed on his chest, and he wrapped his arms around her petite figure, resting his head on hers.

They stood there for sometime, until they finally came back to there senses. He released her from his hold and Naina straightened herself up awkwardly. Sameer rubbed the back of his head and stared at her as she fixed her clothes and bit his lip to control himself from claiming her lips again. He cleared his throat and spoke,
"Tum gate par jaakar wait karo, main wo.. shirt pehenke aata hoon"

Naina rushed to the door and quickly opened it. She stood in the corridor and looked around, waiting for him. What was this? What had just happened? He surely didn't just.. well... kiss her. She blushed into a deep shape of red and lowered her head, thinking about what just happened. He did kiss her, so does he... well possibly... he might actually... have feelings for her! This thought definitely made her happy, as a wide smile adored her face. The fact that he is not a playboy anymore; he feels bad about what he did in the past; he is so responsible and caring; and on the top of that, he might actually have feelings for her lifted her spirits. Right now however, she looked at the door anxiously, waiting for him to come out.

On the other hand, Sameer was totally different. What had he done? What just happened? It can't happen, it shouldn't have happened...it was wrong. But it didn't seem wrong. It was so natural to them, like breathing or like living, bound to happen and bound to remain like this. But no. He took advantage of her innocence. He is a jerk. However, a voice in his head soon interrupted, but she did respond. She kissed him back and even touched him. He shook his head and countered, She doesn't know anything, she is too young and innocent. She didn't understand the magnitude of what just happened. She got carried away.He is her brother's best friend, and this should never have happened. His desires and physical pleasure is not greater that her well-being.

But he was determined to set the things right. His goal was clear in his head, he had to ignore Naina Aggarwal. He had to shut her out of his life. He tried his best to be platonic and un-physical friends with her, but now he had to behave like a wall around her.

His gaze suddenly fell on a beautiful blue piece of jewelry, and without a second thought, he kept in his pocket and headed out. The moment Naina saw him, she came to her enthusiastically, and in response, he just bent his head guiltily and didn't meet her gaze. He started walking towards the entrance of the stadium, making sure that she was following him and she doesn't get lost.

Naina was extremely heartbroken to say the least. How could he do that? He didn't even look at her. He just walked away. Maybe the kiss meant nothing... But Naina brushed off these negative thoughts and believed her heart, who knew that he feels something. It might not be love, but it is definitely something.

She tried to start a conversation with him, but he ignored her call and instead engaged in a conversation with a second-year boy who was standing at the corner. The second-year didn't quiet understand why was college hero Sameer Maheshwari interested in talking to him, but he still looked quiet happy. The boy started a conversation about how the Indian politics were getting horribly ruined these days, and he planned to join Congress.

Naina was really irritated by this and she quietly headed to the entrance gate, not really looking at him or waiting for him to finish. Sameer noticed this and tolerated the boy for two more minutes, after which he excused himself and followed her.

Naina reached the gate and others were waiting for him. When Preeti asked them why were they so late, Sameer quickly answered,
"Woh hum aa rahe the toh mujhe ek dost mil Gaya tha, main usse baat karne lag Gaya tha. Naina ko raasta nahi pata tha toh woh bhi wait karne lagi"

Preeti was about to say that Naina knew the place well, that's why she could reach there for the earring right, but the sound of Pandit interrupted her,
"Yaar accha hua tu late nahane ghusa tha, warna Naina wapas hi nahi aa paati"

Sameer's views didn't match Pandit's thoughts at all, and he had already decided to always be the first one to go for a shower. But Swati soon interrupted,
"Accha ha, Naina teri earring mili"

Well to say the truth, Naina had absolutely forgot about her lost earring. She shook her head in negative, while Sameer safeguarded the piece of jewelry further into his pocket . Preeti and Swati were talking about how they would definitely get a duplicate earring and Chachiji won't mind getting another earring for her, since she is his favourite.

Soon the gang decided to go to a nearby cafe to celebrate their victory. Even Arjun looked quite happy at the proposal of the girls joining them. They were leaving when Arjun suddenly stopped Naina and Preeti and asked them to come aside. They followed him quietly, expecting a good scolding for something that they never did or did unintentionally. But to their surprise, he looked quite happy and he smiled affectionately at them.
"Naina, Preeti mujhe tum donon se maafi maangni thi"
Arjun bent his head guiltily and Naina and Preeti were shocked.
"Kis baat ki maafi bhaiya"

"Har baat ke liye. Bhai ka farz sirf behenon ki raksha nahi, unka dhyaan rakhna bhi hota hai. Maine kabhi woh nahi Kiya. Kabhi tumhein samjha nahi, Khushi nahi di, dhyaan nahi rakha. Tum donon soch Rahi hogi na ki achanak mujhe kya ho Gaya hai. Aaj jab Naina tu dahi cheeni layi thi na, tab sabne tere sanskaaro ki bahut taareef ki, aur saath mein iss baat ki bhi main tujhe bahut acchi baatein sikhayi hai. Phir kuch din pehle Sameer ne bhi samjhaya tha. Par yeh baat aaj jaake dimaag mein baithi, ki maine kabhi apni behenon Ko bhai ki tarah pyaar nahi Kiya. Shayad isliye match par bhi dhyaan nahi tha. Lekin Naina ki dahi cheeni ne bacha liya" he laughed and Naina Preeti smiled through their tears.

Soon Naina hugged him and Preeti too joined in. The entire gang gazed at them affectionately. Sameer was extremely happy for the one girl and Pandit wiped off his tears and exclaimed,
"Kya yaar, tum teeno ne toh senti kar diya. Aaj toh hasne ka din hai"

Everyone laughed at this and headed to the cafe. Sameer and Pandit took a car and sped off to the cafe, while Arjun drove the other car. Munna was at the adjacent seat and Naina, Preeti and Swati were in the back seat. Naina was really hoping to go in the other car, with Sameer, but no such conversation took place and he simply went away with Pandit. Moreover, she couldn't just stand up and speak out of the blue that she wanted to go in his car. So she sat on the window seat of the other car, and silently looked at the trees.

The lunch was seemingly quiet affair for Sameer and Naina, but it wasn't that quiet for the others, since they were fighting for the orders or were busy bad mouthing the rival team, if you refer to Munna and Arjun. When the reality that they actually had to eat something after all, finally dawned on them, they took the orders. This time, the relatively expensive dishes were also included, since they were quiet happy with the win and the quantity was also increased for the boys, since they were being starved in the name of nutrition, if you go by Pandit's experience. They had settled for two plates of chola bhatura, three pav bhaji, two dosa and one samosa till now, though Sameer and Naina's orders were still left.

Finally Sameer's turn came, and he settled for his old meal of samosa, instead of his pav bhaji these days. This time, he didn't order for Naina or ordered something similar for himself, he simply conversed with Pandit, not sparing her a second glance. Naina definitely didn't like it. Her appitite suddenly reduced and she ordered a cream roll for herself. Preeti cast her a questionable look, but Naina huffed and gave her, "I ate something very heavy" look. Even when the drinks were being ordered, only campa colas were ordered, since Naina didn't order anything for herself. If she had, one Mangola would have been added to the list.

Sameer was watching her from the corner of his eyes and he clutched the table in irritation. Main order nahi karunga toh kuch khayegi hi nahi. Zabardasti muh mein mein daalna padta hai, chhote bacho ki tarah. The food arrived and the gang became busy in stuffing themselves, minus Sameer whose concentration was on Naina's less wholesome meal and extremely small cream rolls. Now his samosas were looking extremely big in size, though Pandit was complaining about their less size and less filling of aloo. Preeti forwarded her dosa to Naina, who refused and ate her very-small (in his opinion) cream rolls . He immediately ordered a plate of pav bhaji with extra pav and gave special instructions to make it extra quick, promising a good tip to the waiter. The pav bhaji arrived in a period excruciating five minutes, after which Sameer handed the plate to her, hiding it from the others. Naina gave him the same look that she gave to Preeti, but Sameer glared at her and gave his " I know you are lying" and "stop being stubborn" look. They continued these looks and silent conversation, after which Naina casted him a defeated look and ate her recenty ordered pav bhaji, while Sameer happily slipped a very large sum of tip to the waiter and finally came back to his half eaten samosa.

The gang also decided that they should order something for dessert, it being the victory day and all. The menu had chocolate, strawberry and pineapple pastries and some icecreams. Sameer decided that a chocolate pastry should be ordered for Naina, since she didn't like pineapple and strawberry wasn't an option, for obvious reasons. He immediately ordered chocolate pastry for both of them, since the previous encounter and firm resolve had slipped his mind. A wide smile adorned Naina's face. Suddenly, the resolve came back to him, and instead of ordering similar chocolate pastry, he changed his order to a pineapple pastry, while the smile left Naina's beautiful features.

The big treat ended and everyone headed back to home. The girls were lying in their beds, and Preeti was snoring loudly, while Naina was lost in her own world. The fact that he was ignoring her didn't go well with her. Will he never talk to her? Will he still ignore her? Does he hate her now? Millions of questions came rushing to her head ranging from doubts about what had happened and what will happen twenty years later. No. She stopped these negative thoughts and gave just one answer to her head- He is just guilty. They need to talk and sort out these things. She finally called it a day, and slept peacefully.

If Naina had hoped that everything would be fine by tomorrow, she was proved very wrong. Sameer had ignored her very skillfully for the entire day and for the next day, and for the very next day and well... the entire week.

He didn't order for her in the canteen, or start any conversation. He even didn't answer if she tried to start a talk to him! Two days back, when he saw her coming towards him, he immediately ran from that particular place and went off. When she sat next to him in canteen like usual, he stood up and went to sit beside Munna and extremely far from her.

Finally she decided that she had had enough. He can't ignore her forever. They have to talk about it. So one such ordinary afternoon, and eight days after the kiss, she saw him inside the music room.

He was sitting on a chair and he was playing a soft tune on his guitar. The sight of him, absorbed in deep thought with his silky hair falling on forehead and hands busy in playing guitar, was definitely a drool-worthy sight for any girl. But Naina didn't let her affect, since she had some confrontation to do. She slipped into the room quietly and closed the room behind her.

Sameer still hadn't heard any of it. He was that lost on his world and he realised her presence, only when she stood in front of him. Sameer couldn't comprehend the situation for a few seconds and he stated at her blankly. He quickly came out of it, and huffed. He stood up to leave, but Naina blocked his path. He tried to go in a different direction, but he stopped her yet again. He was too irritated and he spoke irritatedly,
"Problem kya hai tumhari. Mujhe kaam hai Jaane do."
"Nahi pehle mujhe kuch baat karni hai, phir jaana."

He was very angry by now and he snapped at her,
"Lekin mujhe tumse koi baat nahi karni hai. Tumhe samajh nahi aa raha hai ki main tumhe ignore kar raha hoon. I thought ki tum samajh jaogi, par tum toh peeche hi pad gayi ho yaar."

Naina couldn't take it anymore. She burst into sobs and turned her back to him. Tears were rolling down her face and she furiously tried to wipe them. She could take anyone's scoldings and anger, but not his. Why didn't she understand that he doesn't want her? He is right, she should have understood earlier.

Sameer was feeling extremely guilty now. How could he shout at her like that? The innocent and fragile girl was just trying to clear things up. It's not her fault that he is drowning in his guilty waters. He cursed himself again and again for bringing tears to her eyes.

"Sorry Sameer maine tumhe pareshan kar diya. Tum sahi keh rahe the, mujhe kuch samajh nahi aata. Main ab kabhi tumhe pareshaan nahi karungi."
She furiously wiped off her tears and turned to the door. Before she could take even one step further, Sameer pulled her to himself and locked her in his arms. Naina struggled and tried her best to break away, but all in vain. She finally gave in and wrapped her arms around his waist, and sobbed even harder. Tears rolled down Sameer's face and he stroked her back to calm her down.
"Naina mujhe maaf kar do. Mujhe tumse aise baat nahi karni chahiye thi. Saari galti meri hi thi. Aise ignore karne se koi faayda nahi hoga, humein ek doosre se baat toh karni hi padegi."

Naina stopped crying and looked at him. He wiped her tears off and pushed her silky strands behind her ear. He finally spoke,
"Uss din jo hua...Naina main tumhe bahut pasand karta hoon. Bahut, bahut, bahut pasand. Par ho Sakta hai ki tum waisa feel na bhi karo... matlab ki tum shay..."
Naina kept her finger on his lips and he quieted down.
"Sameer main bhi tumhe pyaa... matlab bahut pasand karti hoon. Tum bahut acche ho. Aur Jo humare beech uss din hua, main us wajah se guilty feel nahi kar rahi hoon"

She smiled at him and Sameer smiled too. Then, he spoke up rather reluctantly.
"Naina toh kya tum...matlab sachmein mere saath... matlab main tumhe force nahi kar Sakta... par phir bhi agar tum chaaho to... mere saath date par chalogi."

Naina was extremely shocked by the proposal, to say the least. She thought about it for a while, but answered,
"Ha Sameer mein tumhare saath chalungi. Par kisi Ko pata chal gaya toh."

"Naina kya tumhe yeh galat lagta hai"
"Nahi Sameer ismein kuch bhi galat nahi hai."
"Main jaanta hoon ki tumhein Arjun aur baaki sab ki fikar hai, lekin hum unhein batayenge. Pakka batayenge. Par waqt aane par. Lekin Naina maine pehle jo Kiya"
"Sameer maine pehle bhi kaha tha aur ab bhi keh rahi hoon. Tum Badal Gaye ho aur tab tumne jo bhi Kiya, woh tumhari befakoofi thi. Tum Dil ke bure nahi ho. Itna guilty feel mat karo. Mujhe iss baat se koi farak nahi padta."
" Naina to kya tumhari Ha hai", he asked her anxiously.

Naina pondered over what he just said. Can it happen? Can they actually be together... like a couple? When no contradiction came to her mind, she finally smiled at him and Sameer grinned too. Her features were sparkling with happiness and he definitely liked her beautiful smile. He took her hand in his and proudly declared,
"Toh Ms. Naina Aggarwal, aaj se tum meri girlfriend ho aur mein tumhara boyfriend hoon"

She giggled but seeing his intense gaze on her, she blushed like a tamato. Sameer held her hand even more tightly and they walked into the corridor, hand in hand.

P.S-Sorry if u guys are dissapointed with this chapter because the confession didn't happen. But trust your writer, I am not trying to stretch the plot like the serials. Sameer can't just declare out of the blue that he loves her. Love is something that evolves and declares itself. Right now, his mind is in mess. So for now, please don't lose interest in the story because I won't shape it like typical Saas bahu storyline. It has to be realistic and reasonable.
