Thank you for writing such beautiful analysis of that scene & for understanding what naina is going through. Ashi & Randeep's ability to emote with their eyes with subtle expressions makes any sad scene painful to watch.

I felt so bad for her and yesterday I realized why she had decided to end their relationship. She had no one to support her and the ones who would stand by her were of her age...no one will even bother to listen them...she is in a mind frame that no one thinks she worthy to be called as theirs...no one wants to have her as their own...its a very bad feeling not to be loved by anyone...and her dad, tayi ji and tauji 's voices are so strong that she tends to believe them . If someone can set her right then it can ONLY be Sameer's love. But how I have no clue..

Yup, even these days this type of behaviour still exists and a girl child is also viewed as a burden rather than a gift of god. In this show lots of scenes really touch us emotionally, maybe thats why we are able to connect to it so easily, because they show the reality of the life rather than a fairytale or complete kekta situations. She takes chacha n chachi's love too as a something she has to return back in the form of her submissiveness. She thinks because chacha has done this much for her she has to pay it back somehow. She sees the difference between preeti and her, preeti is loud and outspoken because she was given the right and freedom to voice out her opinion by her parents whereas naina even though raised by the same set of parents in not outspoken or daring because there are always limitations to what she can n is allowed to do.

She has been taught from the start that she was an unwanted child and that because of her, her mother died. The constant taunts and abuses take a toll on her thinking, its not easy to just come out of it because u love someone. This is mental torture she has been subjected from birth, its going to take lots and lots of reassurances and strength and love from sameer to get her out of it. Especially when she thinks the one person who stood by her throughout (chachaji) is going to commit suicide because of her. Hence the decision and unwillingness to listen to sameer at all.

I think she always was aware it is going to be a bit difficult when their love story comes out, but she didn't really think about the social disparities and the caste issues, she lived in a dream and reality was like a slap to the face. She has been so strong even with lot of insecurities about how she looks and everything else. But now sameer's friendship is going to be the one guide light leading her out of the darkness she is surrounded with, that will be the time for her to come out and fight for her love story.

Well written post, WRTW

Regarding your title, I think it's Acceptance which leads to Peace.

Yes, she was aware of the social disparity from the early days courtesy Tayiji timtimata bulb vs suraj ki roshni! 😃 But Sameer has never made her realize that or for that matter anyone about his status. Caste thing was introduced all of a sudden, maybe to justify the breakup from Naina's side... that she would not be able to stand by him against her family whereas Sameer never made social disparity as an issue and was willing to fight for them in stark contrast.
She is sad that she won't be part of Sameer's growing up process and would not know the different stages. Some regret from her side, finally. She realized Sameer can never do anything bad for her. He always will be her well wisher.

So in return of all the favors she wanted to offer friendship to make Sameer happy. This is where my doubt starts. Does she really think the friendship will make Sameer happy? Do you think a person deep in love, who thinks about her 24x7 will be happy with the offer of friendship? Won't he remember all the romantic moments when he is with her? They are just 18-19 years olds! For a sec just imagine your self in his shoes, that you are deeply in love with someone and that person is getting married to somebody else and yet wants your friendship? Would you accept? I wouldn't. It is like adding salt to the wound.

The expectation that Sameer again has to gather his broken pieces and do something for Naina is not fair. He is not a Robot, he also has a heart, which is getting shattered again and again. I am talking from the realistic point of view and not the rosy world scenario which the serial depicts where the guy will always be a saviour, a knight in shining armour, a baazigar.

Lovely post Ashwathy. Very nicely explained indeed👏

Yes,Naina does seem to have given up/stopped fighting long back and made peace with her fate.In my opinion, this is not necessarily a bad or pitiable thing. In fact,it requires tremendous mental strength and a practical no nonsense approach to do this .Secondly, people who make peace with their destiny and accept it are the happiest people in life. They move on sooner and do not linger on what ifs ,buts and if onlys. Naina is one such person; a silent fighter. Her confidence might be shaken, but I believe that it would take waaay more than this to break her confidence/spirit.

Regarding her offering of friendship to Sameer,I don't think she did it for Sameer(just like she did not break up with Sameer for his good). She saw him defending her and it suddenly struck her that inspite of everything he had no ill will for her.and she could never find another friend like him.The way he spoke about her made her realise that they are each other's lifelines. So,she extended her hand of friendship. She did this as much for herself,as she did for Sameer. Sameer is oxygen to her ,like she is to Sameer and his behaviour made her realise that.

But then her behaviour yesterday begs the question,"If being friends was such a good idea, why did she not offer that earlier? Why did she cut off communication completely and the suddenly do a 180 degree turn to offer friendship?".My only answer is that she realised that she couldn't be friends with Sameer because she loved him too much.To help herself move away from him,she broke off from him. Now,she realised (or at least thinks) that both have moved away sufficiently to be able to continue being friends with him.Of course, picture abhi baaki hai 😆😳

And yes,I really don't think Sameer needs to move an iota to understand her pilight or help her out.If he does, full credit and kudos to his selfless love. But it cannot be expected of him. From the breakup part,Naina has been calling the shots wrt to her relationship with Sameer. It is time now that she showed some remorse for what she has done and redeems her relationship with Sameer.Of course, to do this she needs to get out of the Sharad mess. She cannot do this by herself. And this is where Sameer needs to help her which he will now do,unflinchingly(bless his heart) since they are friends.

I would like to add here, that theirs is a seemingly unique relationship where even after all this, the two of them are seemingly happy to merely continue as friends(for now). Her offering of friendship seems to have given tremendous happiness to Sameer and is acting like a lifeline for him and for her.In real life, the like of Nainas would do best to stay away from Sameer after all this.If she really cannot marry him,she would do best to stay away from him. This is the best way he can move on.To continue being friends with him will keep reviving memories for both of them.It will rekindle hopes in him which she cannot fulfill. It will break his broken and barely mended heart all over again. She is giving him repeated and double the pain in the quest for a good friend for herself. But this is in real life scenarios.
Just my pov😊

Brilliant post Ashu.
You have explained nainas situation so well. Poor girl is down in the dumps.

But regarding friendship i agree with @jasw. After loving naina like how he loves i mean she is his world and she knows that too how can he be friends? Will those memories not haunt him for that matter both of them? He has lost her after trying so hard to assure her and then how can he be friends.

I dont understand the need for this track but really hope it brings out something good for both of them.
