No all India release although could be a possible explanation. this makes some sense, but even then I dont feel it would have taken months to be released in Ahmedabad, it wasn't a village or a town was a full fledged city and not a metro, plus Chamatkaar wasn't a flop, it was a moderate hit (personally i would any day prefer Chamatkar over Beta- I know irrelevant here)

Still this can give some explanation.

yes I remember DHak Dhak song being absent in cassette but don't remember it not airing on TV so pardon me for that

Beta released in April I remember watching it in first week of August ... That too in a metropolitan city...

Mpk chandni sanam bewafa qsqt
All these movies were silver and golden jubilees even before hahk released...

So saying that movies were not doing jubilees is not fair...

I don't know how much u know...But...The first releases were always in delhi mumbai kolkata and chennai...

5-6 weeks after the movies released here... The second lot used to get released in state capitals and big cities...
The third lot was small towns...And then came the villages which saw the movies after almost a yr or so

Only if a movie was a flop... It was released immediately in smaller towns and cities to recover the cost by the distributor

The business strategy was simple... Limited prints...Big cities...Big theatres... Big crowds... Recover the full cost within the first few weeks... Y spend more money to get more prints ... Only wen the big city halls removed the movies... The same print was passed on to the smaller cities...

Hence bigger hits took more time to be released in smaller places... Whereas flops used to get released almost immediately

I understood your point and completely agree to it as well as I mentioned in the previous post, I am now saying that they are watching this movie months after the release even in their own city since they already hinted of having seen Deewana and Khiladi which were both super hits (maybe not as big hits as Beta still they were 3rd or 4th grosser of the year and would have released late in smaller cities)

However I would like to also state that if a movie was super hit in the metros they did release more prints and release in the smaller cities to encash on the excitement those people have for these movies

Very few movies had an all India release in those days ...Ahemdabad being a non metropolitan city... Beta definitely released a few weeks after its initial release in metropolitan cities...

So we can assume beta released in mid may in ahemdabad...And ran for a few months...Coz it was a hit...

Same way since chamatkar was a flop movie...It did not last a week in big cities hence they were released early in smaller cities...

I donno if you remember... The video cassettes never had the dhak dhak song in them... Infact the love making scene was also edited out from the cassettes. ...

As far as I remember... In my city... The noon and matinee shows had the dhak dhak song edited out coz school nd college students were the dominant audience...It was only show .In evening nd night shows

And chitrahaar never aired the dhak dhak song... it was too erotic for dd audience..

chamatkaar had that lovely song is pyaar se meri taraf na dekhoo pyaar ho jaayega ..urmila n srk hv such cute chemistry in that...i wish smaina hv tht song picturised on them n their eyeloks..

Wo to definitely hua hi hoga, Beta would have released much later but releasing after Deewana and Khiladi (ye dono movies in logon ne kaafi pehle discuss kiya tha) ke baad release hona doesn't make sense

And my point is kisi ne cassette pe kyu nhi dekha, film us sheher me release ho na ho cassette to aa hi jaate the

I watched Chamatkaar in home on VCR before the same was released in my city
