I know saying sorry continuously for not updating is not gonna work. But I had to resign my job and finally found a new one and joined as well. I want to continue writing this story but let me know how many of you are interested to read it.

Part 8
As Naina walked over to the library, she thought about her interaction with Sameer that afternoon.
Normally, when she says she can't lie, Preeti or Swati used to get angry on her but Sameer understood her reasons and accepted that she was right.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice that her Papa was standing in front of her.
He glared at her. He had noticed that Balon Ka Dukan in the library and knew that Naina was headed to teach him.
"Aren't you ashamed of yourselves? roared Rakesh and Naina flinched.
"I have no hopes on you. But remember this, Naina; Arjun shouldn't get to know that you are teaching Sameer. He will feel betrayed that his own sister is going against him and right now, I don't want anything to disturb him. Understood?
"Ji, Papa Naina answered.
Even though Chachaji had convinced that Naina was doing the right thing, every interaction with her father made Naina feel like she was committing a heinous crime.
All this was witnessed by Sameer.
Naina reached the library and hiding her tears asked Sameer to get his books out.
Sameer knew that Naina loves him and that's the reason why she was helping him. But she was putting up with her father's scolding and going against him and her brother.
"Sorry, Naina, because of me you have to bear your father's anger apologized Sameer holding his ears.
Seeing Sameer being this cute, made all Naina's guilt vanish. She knew that Sameer really needed her help and she shouldn't feel guilty about this.
"Sameer, just like I cannot break Chachaji's trust by lying, I cannot break your trust by not fulfilling my promise. Replied Naina.
"Now, stop wasting time, let's start studying.
Naina and Sameer walked to the cycle parking. The school was almost empty bar Mundit and few others from Sameer's gang who was playing cricket near the bike stand.
"So, Naina, have you really never lied to anyone asked Sameer.
Naina couldn't meet Sameer's eyes but from her silence, Sameer understood that she had.
"Really, you have lied before and Naina nodded at this, still avoiding Sameer's eyes.
"But, for what asked Sameer stumped because he couldn't understand what could have made her lie.
"For someone softly replied Naina, now looking at Sameer.
They had reached Naina's cycle and she started keeping her bag.
Sameer stood still, a strange feeling was coursing through him. He kept wondering for whom Naina would have lied for. He knew it wasn't Preeti or Swati because Naina would have blabbered about the story behind it if it were them.
Naina got on her cycle, Sameer still didn't move. She said bye and finally he moved and stepped in front of her cycle.
"Who was it, Naina? "
Naina understood what he was asking but she couldn't reply and tried to move around Sameer.
Sameer held the handlebars of her cycle and didn't let her move.
"Answer and then you can leave said Sameer.
She looked at him and decided to tease him.
"Let go of my cycle and then I will answer.
Sameer let go but didn't step away.
"Some idiot uttered Naina and slowly moved her cycle away and yelled out, "who mistakenly set the chemistry lab on fire. And laughing she rode away.
Sameer was shocked. He didn't think that she knew but she did and lied for him. Her one and only lie was for him.
And that day he decided that whatever happens, he will make sure that him and Naina remain friends because she has slowly won his friendship by showering her undemanding care on him.
That night while he was studying, he had a few doubts. Normally, he would ask Naina the next day but he felt like talking to her so decided to call her using this as an opportunity.
Naina had given her Chachaji's house landline after that issue with Rakesh. So, he called that number and thankfully it was Naina who answered.
Naina - "Sameer, is everything ok, you are calling so late
Sameer smiling at the concern in her voice Everything is fine except for this chapter in Biology.
Sameer asked his doubt and Naina clarified the same.
Sameer Thanks, Naina...
Naina No sorry, no thanks in friendship
Sameer Ok, madam. (P.S I love the way Sameer says Madam). You know I was worried that someone else might answer.
Naina Everyone has slept. Chachaji was awake but he heard me talking to you so wished me goodnight just now.
Sameer oh ok.
And finally, Sameer came to the actual topic he wanted to talk on.
Sameer Naina, why did you lie for me?
Naina knew this question would be asked and was prepared.
Naina Because, I know you didn't do it purposely and I didn't want you to leave the school. Already, you were sent away because of me, I didn't want a repeat of that.
Sameer ok but why? I was smoking just after giving a speech on that and that too inside school, why did you protect me?
Sameer wanted to pester her and see what answers she comes up with.
Naina not expecting this, answered Because you returned my shoes. Now, go sleep. Its late and it's better to study early in the morning instead of in the night.
Sameer Is it so? Then why are you awake?
Naina Because Taiji will not let me study in the morning.
Then, Naina hit her head. She didn't mean to be this honest with Sameer. But nowadays, talking to him has become comfortable to her that she didn't think through what she was saying.
Sameer What? Why?
Naina, realizing that now it was no use hiding things Taiji is from village and never studied. She believes that there is no use for a girl to study.
Sameer But Naina, you are the best student in the whole school. Doesn't Rakesh sir support you?
Naina Papa is busy with Arjun bhaiya. But I have my support from Chachaji. You know, he is really the best. I stay with Chachaji and Chachiji...
Before, she could finish her sentence, she heard some noise.
Naina Sameer, it's getting late. I will talk to you tomorrow.
Sameer Hmm ok. Good Night.
Naina Good Night.
Sameer wondered how much did he actually know about Naina. Since the day he saw the letter, he keeps getting surprised.
He went back to studying but when he went to bed, once again it was Naina who occupied his thoughts.
