Sameer and Naina's portrayal is extremely realistic

Making a post after ages as once again the scenes brought backa memory so much so that I felt like I was going through the same days again.
Both in my hubby's and my 12th standard we went through similar phases but not with each other. I had been head over heels obsessed with a boy who had moved to UK for his further education and failed my 1st units after which I bucked up and topped the year (yeah i was that studious back then). But yes for a short while i did experiment with smoking, drinking and other vices to make myself feel better.

Similarly my hubby also fell into bad company with some new friends from college around the same age and did all that stuff - smoking, drinking, playing cards, fighting with others... in fact he was very moved when he saw the scenes yesterday and today and said it is very easy to get confused at that age.

But today he is a very different and improved person. Which is why I feel that Sameer too will get though this phase and change himself to be a more responsible and lovable person. And the good thing is that once you have already fallen in that trap you will be aware of how it can happen and will be more confident of how to avoid it in the future.

I am loving this new phase though as it is showing that Sameer with the help of his true friends and family will overcome his negatives and be a more improved person. This is a true reflection of how teenagers get into these habits at that age and how its only the best of friends and family that can pull us out of that mire.

I think most of the people agree with that.. the only objection is with eve teasing and Sameer watching that sliently as he has always been shown as a person who respects woman a lot.
Also in first scene his so called friends were not only passing comments but physically touching girls.. rest I agree that in teen age boys do get into wrong company and it's realistic.

Thanks for sharing your experience.😳
Well in my case..1 year I behaved like Sameer..not smoking or drinking but deviating from my path..Breaking my own rules and picking up fight with literally everyone.
I still regret misbehaving with my family members..
Thanks to some angels in form of my friends and sister..I got back to track..It took me 1 year to get back to who I was..
Behaving like Naina...Not topping the class but scoring good marks and thinking rationally..
And in these all these I realised you have two ways to cope up with depression/separation
1.Behave like Sameer.(Bunking the school)

2.Behave like Naina.(Topping the class)

But yes..being teenagers all these are common..All you need is someone to guide you to come out of these stupidity..

Agreed. I too will never condone or forgive eve-teasers and felt that that scene could have been avoided if nothing else just because of the current situations. Hope that they show a scene where Sameer gets to verbally bash and correct these terrible habits in his new companions

Thanks sweetylina.. totally agree in the power of friendship and good mentors to help us get back on the correct path. Am glad that you too had such angels to help you with moving in the right direction.

Wrt Sameer I feel his fall will be greater as his loss was much greater too. Everyone needs a person who will merntor and believe in them. The need of approval and support from peers and people close to you can make us do strange and stupid things.

Sameer has lost his Nanu, the only one he actually strive for. Additionally he has been separated from Naina who as an ideal good character could have helped check any vices before they started. Instead he is with his mother who feels supporting Sameer means being blind to his faults. The rest of the Somanis are just waiting to get rid of him anyways.
To top it all he has fallen into bad company and peer pressure is making him behave worse than ever. I know we can not condone some of the actions but one cant help feeling sorry for such a young boy going through so many losses at such a tender age.

Sorry for rambling on again.. I ssem to have gotten very emotionally connected to Samaina and their journey

Totally agree with every points.
@Bold--That is the bitter truth. He is lost and lonely. That is from where the problem starts.
@Red---This is not rambling.I always love to read these thoughts and experiences. You literally get to know something more for sure. And Samaina I totally relate to them..TBH every track from bet phase to till date..I have experienced all these in real life..
And yes do keep sharing your experiences..Would love to read it.
