Dear Dhruvi, first of all I would like to commend you for bringing up this incident on this forum...that itself requires a lot of courage...And I'm sorry for the incident you have mentioned...We as a nation have always failed the women and children of our country...
We Indians over the years have conveniently accepted a shameless attitude called as the 'Chalta hai' attitude...Traffic rules follow nahi kiye chalta hai (why should I care for someone's life), women ki respect nahi ho rahi hai chalta hai (woh mere ghar ki thodi hai), ghar pe women ki repsect nahi ki chalta hai (woh mere ghar ki hai, main uske saath jo bhi karu), har govenrment aake humein ullu banake jaati hai chalta hai (itne saalo se log humein loot hi toh rahe hai kya farak padta hai )...This 'Chalta hai' attitude has ruined us a nation...
We claim ourselves as very religious people right? We make sure that we follow all rituals, all prayers, everything...it has been taught to all in their families to follow religion to the core...but why hasn't many of them taught their children the basic aspect of all religion- Treating women and children with respect and care... Misbehaving with women is an unforgivable sin in all the religions...I'm no one here to teach/talk about religion...but if we claim ourselves as religious and cultured people, then I'm sorry to say, we are defying the basic idea of our religion and culture...
A man's nature is maximum based on what he is taught in his formative years...Not respecting women is an outcome of a flaw in upbringing...Many of them don't teach their male child on how to behave, on what to think of other women...We as a nation teach everything to our child, how to learn, write, speak, how to follow religion, culture but we couldn't teach an important thing to them.
You must have heard the phrase- Saam Dhaam Dand Bhed...Unfortunately our crowd has forgot ethics and become so shameless that Saam doesn't even work on us...Daam can only work, when the Dand is stringent and strict...and unfortunately the Dand is not strict in our country...Nobody fears the law...
I would like to share an incident here which must have happened on similar lines with many of us: My college though was in the same city, it was a bit far from my place, and hence I had to travel by public transport everyday...Now we all know what happens in public transports in India...People take advantage of the crowded bus and leave no opportunity to touch women. I was 17 years old and I still remember it was my early experiences of traveling in a public transport crowded bus. A shameless creature, taking full advantage of the crowd, leaned on me while standing behind me, giving me no space to even move. I couldn't even scream or shout out of fear...He started touching me, which had almost made so fearful that I was about to cry...Somehow I managed to make some space for myself and moved ahead...he again stood behind me and again tried to lean on me, I again moved ahead...fortunately at that time a person got up from his seat to get down at his stop, and I immediately sat over there...The guy still kept staring at me throughout the journey...Those were the hardest 30 mins of my life...The moment I reached college I saw my friend and I couldn't stop crying...This type of molestation in crowded buses/trains is a common scenario in India everyday... I'm no different, but the worst thing is such shameless act is a common thing in India...
Eve teasing or any form of act which make women uncomfortable shouldn't be encouraged at all through any medium...I'm somehow waiting for the CVs to bring out a strong message out of this act of Sameer...may be they are wishing to highlight a flaw in upbringing here...may be they are wishing to highlight that where do Indian parents lack...I hope they have a strong purpose behind this...he still has time to stand up for the women and stop being a part of the gang...if this thing stretches for too long...then I wouldn't be much interested in it as a viewer...Hope it is a short-lived track trying to show that how lapses in upbringing and bad company can affect people in their formative years...I still wish they show him to understand this thing himself, as he is shown to be a strong conscience person from the start and not Naina come and put sense in him...that would be like to show female lead mahaan...I want his conscience to be strong...not others putting sense in him...
Anyway thanks for this discussion...You are in no way spreading negativity...stay blessed dear...
