Why so Low Trp ?

I am not indian also i don't know how trp is calculated . But, what i have observed seeing trp chart is that colors ,star plus & zeeTv shows always get higher trp . Why sony channel show always get such a low trp inspite of telecasting excellent shows like Beyhaad, Yeh Un Dino KI baat Hai , Kuch rang pyar ka . weird 😕 Can anyone tell me actually how trp is calculated ?

Simple explanation majority love ekta crass

How else do you think her shows are the longest running and the channels showcasing them are with the highest GEC

I'll explain it in a simple manner.

Star Plus = Colors = Zee TV = Crass and Quantity

Sony TV = class and quality.

Other channels sell stupidity in the name of creativity. You must have noticed that most loved TV serials are usually Sony serials like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain , Beyhadh , Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi , Ek Duje Ke Vaaste , Porus , Yeh Unn Dinon Ki Baat Hai. Because these shows are realistic...female leads dont walk around in 5 kgs of makeup and 10 kgs of jewellery. Characters are grey , rarely pure black evil. Story is also realistic.

But Indian audience loves drama , sindhoor , divorces , shaadi sequences , pativrata, etc. Star , Zeeand Colors provide that. Sony doesn't. Hence the reason for low trp. Also Sony audience is composed of urban working class who find it easier to watch online instead of TV. Hence our TRP remains low. But comparitively YUDKBH has good TRP at late night slot.

Ppl in India hv grwn up watching saas bahu saga and yet are into it!!!
The young and teenage generation is the crowd which Sony has!!
Sony really comes up with different shows...Ek Duje k vaaste was brilliant...I hv nt seen behyad bt it was the biggest hits of Sony, prous is full of creativity, and all their historical serials specially maharana pratap was excellent...n nw YUDKBH is completely different...no other tv show has such concept!!

Sony always takes risks for the shows...they always show some different concepts...their concepts r never repetative...bt d sad part is the audience's watching them are digital audiences...if these apps ratings were to b counted...sony whd lead with a high margin...n I guess d last whd b star plus!!!

True...but sadly our Indian audiences love saas bahu sagas and kitchen politics more ...so Sony always gets less TRP comparitively..

yes I heard in urban rating's star was last...it seems urban ppl hv improved their taste

Sony was doing pretty well some years back before they revamped and brought changes to their promotions and various strategies implemented went wrong I suppose.

Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Parvarrish - Season 1 were the shows that got TRP above 1.5 and even 2.0+

Ever since then Sony fell back and hard in their daily soaps. Only KBC, Kapil's Show, Super Dancer are fetching them the numbers.

Now with more of Kapil show and Dus ka Dum we can expect an increase but don't know about daily soaps because people are preferring other channel shows. I feel sony has to change their promotion and marketing strategies.

I saw a promo of a new show coming @ 11:00PM .. Sony isn't a SP or Colors to air shows at 11 and get the numbers.. so again a wrong move.

Among the recent daily soaps I feel YUDKBH deserves muchhh better trps. But Sony isn't promoting it much like the other shows which are below YUDKBH in trps! But I Hope it does well in the upcoming weeks.

Sach me yaar...people like to watch stupid saas bahu sagas...n even sorry if I hurt anyone here, Big Boss...shows with content are often ignored or modified into the same dramas which fetch trps...I remember the last show I really saw was Mile jab hum tum...n now yudkbh

I believe most of the Sony viewers are urban, teenagers and working people. They prefer to watch online. It won't be counted for TRP unfortunately. I can understand why channels look for TRP as it generates revenue for them. Unfortunately lot of people still prefer the same old story. Even my mother in India still watches sass Bahu serials and she does not like to watch YUDKBH kind of serials. My sister did not even know about this serial and I had tell her and she started watching since last week.

I have not watched any shows on Star and Colors TV yet. I don't know ianything about their shows.So far I have watched 4 serials( including YUDKBH) and everything on Sony and SAB. They provide very good content and it is matured and they don't drag the serials forever. They usually end within 1-1.5 years.

Unless audiences change their mindset, TRPs won't improve for trendsetting serials.
