@bold - Appu, that's exactly the point I was trying to make...yes, Sameer will now see the person behind the name Rohan... but again why should Sameer be needed to see? Isn't it time the Somanis saw who Sameer is? Isn't that what this really should be about... they have all these prejudices and preconceived notions about him because his upbringing is not like Rohan... Isn't it time for them to see that upright, good, caring, mature and responsible adults can be brought up another way? Isn't that what this track should be about... to open Vishaka's eyes to the mistake she has been committing by blindly listening to the Somanis?

This is what I was trying to say earlier... I don't want the CVs to show that Rohan's upbringing has made him all good while Sameer starts looking bad. That would be too cliche... and that would also show that Somanis are right... so the CVs need to keep Rohan neutral while positively reinforcing Sameer's nature and highlighting his strengths... that;s the only way this track can work. Otherwise how will Sameer emerge as the hero and also prove his Nanu's trust and pride in him was not misplaced? The way I see it, this should be the reason for this track and not show Rohan as some God.

@bold - how can Sameer feel anything but dislike for his mother ?
Nivi, going back to this question... when Sameer shows them what the mature Sameer is like, Vishaka will automatically show more care towards him. Call it what you like, but that's how she knows to love... its conditional. Maybe because that's what she receives from Somanis... be a good mother and wife and you will be loved. She practices the same with Sameer and so far because Sameer rebelled against establishment they kept getting pushed apart. She would not understand when Nanu tried to explain to he that Sameer was different and he had to be brought up in a different manner... so really this track should be an eye opener for her to not judge someone by their upbringing but by their nature and personality.

We have seen how Sameer reacts when someone shows some real care towards him... he will do more for them... I feel that's the only way the distance between mother son can be bridged. Added to this I would like Rohan to question Vishaka about many things and force her to start thinking... to me that should be Rohan's role initially, because he is a neutral observer and does not have any past dealings with Sameer, so he will be able to see Sameer with fresh eyes that none of the others can. And slowly helping Sameer at a later point because he slowly feels Sameer has been wronged and is continued to be wronged...

I don't think they will show about parenting comparisons that too to show one is better than the other. From where I can see, it wil be bonding of the brothers. Sam will learn from Rohan that sometimes one needs to follow rules. It's a part of maturing process. Rohan will learn from Sam how life is not about following a timetable. It can be fun. Life is all about living.

There is a short story by Tagore. It is a part of his long poem Golden Boat. THe short prose piece we had in school from his poem was called Wrong Man in Worker's Paradise. A man who is an artist dies and reeaches heaven. He sees people around him are always busy following time table. Very routine bound. This artist doesn't follow the others. Instead he starts lazing around and painting and do doing artistic work. First a little girl starts liking his art. she too starts painting. Soon, the others start appreciating him and his ways. The head of the Worker's paradise gets angry and says people have become lazy due to this man. so he asks the artist to leave. We got the worng man in Worker's paradise. The artist is happy. He gathers his brushes and prepares to leave. But then, the little girl walks upto him and says she too will leave with him.

When I saw Rohan Sam scene yesterday, I remembered this prose piece i believe something like this will happen between Rohan and Sam. Both the boys are good. It is not ROhan's fault that Vishakha abandoned Sam. It is not Sam 's fault that Vishakha is with Somani. The boys are innocent. 😊

As usual awesome post.
Finally we saw Somani's family dynamics, rules and timetable runs the household.
I felt so bad for Sameer, how he will survive there?
This Somani will never change and he proved it.
About Vishakha I don't want to comment what was her problem?
She was so affectionate towards Rohan and Deepika that too in front of Sameer but didn't felt the need to comfort him.
She is literally treating him like a guest and he also felt the same just like his VO said.
Totally loved flashback,at least in flashback we saw smiling and talking Sameer.
It was totally fun haven't we also done the same thing with our siblings, friends.
But I really liked this Rohan,he comes across as good boy, hope we will see their bonding soon.
Deepika yes she was asking so many questions agreed kids do that but it looked like not her but Dadi was talking through her.
Felt so bad for Sameer there, good he finally answered to Vishakha.
God! I was missing his voice finally he talked and it was music to my ears.
Naina finally got to know about him.
Poor girl! She blamed herself for not being there for him and being angry with him.
I loved the way she was holding his photo frame and not letting it go felt she was trying desperately to hold on to him. Totally loved Ashi here.
Preeti was so good the way she supported and understood her pain.
Ashi and Ayesha loved both of them.
Finally Sameer remembered Naina, loved VO here Meri Naina'.
So now they both will try to contact each other.
This Dadi is so evil let's see how it will be next week.
Actually I want to say more but running late will comment more in your next post.
Star of the episode Randeep/Ashi/Ayesha.

Thank you Trupti.

You know after Deepika asked Sameer who was his father, Vishaka felt uncomfortable, scolded Deepika but after the littel girl left Vishaka didn't have anything comforting to say to Sameer ! There is so much distance between them, as the mother she doesn't feel the need to lessen the distance at all. Felt so bad for Sameer each and every conversation with his mother.

@bold: I completely agree Rose. This is what I am hoping to see also. Sameer and Rohan will find a place in each other's schedule. Sameer answering back to Vishaka was kind of a hint for me.

Both the boys are not at fault especially Sameer. It is Vishaka who is the one who is at fault.

Sameer's pain was so evident in those VO ...its really painful to see a 17 year old going through all these .
The way he was introduced to his do called siblings ...its really painful ...this guy has not even seen them...his whole world is changed in two days after nanu's death.

Naina's pain of not finding sameer and unable to contact him ...Ashi nailed it ..

Thank you Daksha !

Now that Sameer is awake and back to his senses, emergence of Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari will be seen leading to the crux of this whole track !

Minu... while you are grappling with Plath... her question... Is there a way out of the mind?
Indeed after meeting with the folks at the Delhi zoo..Sam must be plagued with this question..
I liked your summary of the track - priorititisation... and when they change some palpable difference ensues.

On to the episode..
Deepika is a half sister to both Rohan and Sameer while admittedly Deepika would be very close to Rohan as they have grown up together. Was Sameer even aware of Deepika? He did not too surprised so I am assuming he knew... I gather that Vishaka is behaving in a conditioned way although her motivations to submit to this conditioning is beyond me. She seems to be suggesting to Sameer through her behaviour that adjustment is key. She has made the adjustment to the regimen of the Somani household. She is asking the same of Sameer. If I were to extend the thought as Vishaka seems to have found through her experience that by adjusting she got something in return. The semblance of a "happy" family perhaps!!
Like she adjusted and got this family life in return, Sameer should adjust to get his family life now.

From the Somani family dynamics it seems clear they are ok to keep Sam at a distance... Bobby knew the responsibility was his but he wants to find a way to keep that responsibility at a distance. Dadi will get her way through Bobby or Vishaka without having to overtly state her position. That word schedule and target is enough but will wait to see how Ro responds to the disruption in schedule.

I have mentioned in tellyupdates thread why I have mixed feelings about the "encounter" so not repeating it here. For me it is an issue of the asthetics of the moment. Intention and execution mismatch.

Hi Rekha

@bold: So forceful for Sameer though. Both the adjustments she made and asking Sameer to make are for her own selfish reasons and Sameer, the son is never in the picture

I get the mixed feelings of the "encounter", it could have been better I agree also but the end result Sameer waking from his slumber happened finally ! 😳 The end result was achieved.

Hi Nivi...

As for the character Vishaka... what I wrote above is not the justification for her behaviour rather the motivation for her behaviour..It is for the narrative to provide the justification as the character decelops...the narrative will have to bear out why the character behaves the way they do...including their motivation to do so... my comment is to merely point out what the narrative says so far about Vishaka... it obvious that she behaves strangely with Sameer and her actions show upfront the difference in the way she deals with the two.. the narrative has not yet told us her backstory. This desire to please everyone in the Somani household...Her actions appear selfish and strange too to us all.. but what i am saying is perhaps she is behaving the way due to some backstory. I don't know if the makers have a backstory for her becos if they do not I will find that odd.. Since she gives mixed signals. LOL
Character trait delving only provides us with the clues to understand the motivations of the character..our individual sensibilities judge these actions. For instance when we see Rakesh behave in a certain way, we sometimes comment that he is insecure becos of his social standing but that does not mean his behaviour is justified..
😊
