Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai is a retro teen love story. Applauded by the viewers for its storyline, it journeys the love of two teens Sameer and Naina and showcases the innocence that came with the pehla pehla pyar of the school days.
Though set in the 90's, children from this era could also be able to relate to it, such is its aura.
Be it Sameer's efforts or Naina's pure love, the show attracts you like no other. Once you start watching it, you will be hooked to it.
So what makes the story of Samaina flourish? Here we have 5 reasons why anyone would love the jodi of Sameer and Naina in the show
The Innocence Of Young Love
Young love is incessantly innocent. It's about those times when the impurity and deceit of the outer world hasn't touched you.
You just don't care about the consequences. You don't expect any sort of heartbreak. You believe that the love is definitely a shaadi wala pyaar. How can your love be not true when you feel it so deeply?
Naina and Sameer also share a similar bond. Though it wasn't love at first sight for Sameer, he also fell for the love and selfless behaviour of Naina slowly.
Young love is innocent and showing it gloriously are Sameer and Naina, the only teen couple on television right now.
Passing the notebook and writing in it between classes to talk to each other, sharing the tiffin as a sign of friendship we all have done that in our schools days.
The show is a vibrant reminder and a pleasant nostalgia for all of them who grew up in the 90's.The DDLJ Feel
The current marriage track of Pooja didi quintessentially gives the vibes of the iconic Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge movie.
The way Sameer wanted to help and sort everything out and also patched up Bela Chachi and Anand Chachaji was adorable.
Slowly his image of being the rich and spoilt brat changed and he made a place in everyone's hearts in Naina's family (barring Arjun and librarian Papaji, of course).
Though he entered the Agarwal house to complete his punishment and serve Arjun, it boosted his motive of clearing the misunderstandings between Naina and him.
And undoubtedly he was more than just successful in that. For Naina fell for him even more after knowing the truth. The DDLJ feel adds yet another aspect to Samaina's love story.
No Whatsapp, No Internet Hero Calls Via STD Booth And Heroine Talks Through Landline
How can love birds stay connected without Whatsapp or Facebook, without taking cues from the internet? Hard to imagine, isn't it?
But it wasn't that difficult in the 90's we guess. Giving blank calls and making the other listen your favourite songs that was the way you expressed your love then.
Be it calling from an STD booth or hideously from your home, a call through landline phones were always special.
There were even special codes. The number of rings determined who was at the other end. Be it the acquiescent "Toh or eating from the same plate of the drinking from the same bottle, the show has been giving many such moments to cherish.
The Memory Of First Ever Love Letter
The memory of the first ever love letter is always special. A little bit of hesitation, a little bit of eagerness, all mixed with the urge to pour your heart out and tell them everything that's in your heart every love story has gone through phases as lovely as this.
Writing a love letter is a beautiful feeling and its beauty is more enhanced by the fact that it is your first one. The writing of the love letter is followed by the courage that you must muster to actually give it.
Naina thinking that it was her last opportunity before leaving for Vanasthali, gave Sameer the letter. But when she found out that she wasn't actually going, she made sure that the letter doesn't reach Sameer.
Such was the state in the 90's and such is the state now. Infinitely many such letters have not reached their destinations owing to the shyness of their writers.
The Fearless First Love Of The 90's
"Pehla pyaar wo cheez hai jo chuhe ko bhi sher bana deta hai One of the dialogues of the show which showed the truth of the first young love.
You are fearless of anything. You don't care what will happen next. And this fearlessness entwined with the fact that the love story of Sameer and Naina takes cues from the real lives of the producers Sumeet and Shashi themselves, make the story all the more relatable.
Imagining how many situations that appeared in the story actually happened, increases the interest of the viewers many folds.
The love that made even a mouse an elephant had a certain craziness to it. The way Naina dared to confess her feelings to Sameer at Mount Abu and the way now Sameer gatecrashed Pooja Didi's wedding only for the sake of the promise that he had given to his lady love reminds us of one thing If you love to dare, then only you will dare to love.
Well, there are lessons we can take from un dino and apply in dino as well.
