Hey guys, so my last post was all about keeping patience and I decided not to read or post here because of well.. all the Naina bashing! But Meher has encouraged me to write a post so here I come.
My last post was when Sameer realised his love and about to enter the house in precap. Way earlier than of what I am going to be talking about in this post. Because there are two parts to the entire Sorry phase! That time I was thinking things will be revealed about Arjun and all but with the whole Sameer's graha-pravesh the CVs have taken a different route, which I love! And now with Preeti knowing, to show Naina Sameer's POV things have escalated and finally Arjun thing is out! A reason for Naina's mood swings!
So there are clearly two things happening:
1) Sameer getting to know Naina's surroundings and learning new stuff
2) Naina not being able to keep her walls intact around Sameer. But Why?
The biggest:
3) The parallels between Sameer and Naina's mood
The bet phase:
Remember Naina's VO mentioning that Sameer himself was not sure why one night he would be all nice to her and the next day angry. He was not able to think right about the bet and not able to take final calls on the bet. As he got to know Naina, his conscious was telling him he was wrong but he could not take final calls. Whats the trigger? The bet boys. They kept instigating the bet into him and he would get back into the bet mode. They were his trigger.
The sorry phase:
There are clearly 2 parts to the sorry phase. Part 1 is where Sameer has to realise his love for Naina, until he does that the sorry means absolutely nothing to Naina and to him. He was just saying "Sorry" because he felt he has done something seriously wrong with someone nice. Thats it. Naina's breakdown in hospital and her words gives him big reality check on this. Up until this point Naina's anger towards Sameer doesn't "affect" him compared to now.
Post realisation, when Sameer is in her home. She literally can't escape Sameer. The one who broke her heart and is the reason of her misery. Normally, as humans, we tend to escape the pattern or need a break or if I put it simply, we need "Space" to think right. If we are surrounded with the situation we simply can't think right. We have to think "outside our paradigm" to understand the situation. In Naina's case she can not do that because she is always around Sameer. She too wants escape, her prayer to God before Sameer's graha-pravesh that just like how she has stopped Sameer from coming to her mind, please help in stop him from coming to her home too. This is a oh-so-clear indication of her escape. We have seen it many times she not able to keep her walls up with Sameer around (when Rakesh slapped + Sameer choosing dress etc). One reason for her mood swing.
His sorry is now more genuine and personal. What Sameer did for Naina with Award indicident, is what any true partner would do. Their eyelock on Monday was filled with Naina's gratitude + Sameer's "I will always be there for you". They spoke much more there than they have ever!! Naina's "bilkul" today, she would have well forgiven Sameer slowly within a day or so I think. Sameer's one more good act would escalate this or perhaps she already has forgiven him in her mind. But! What's the trigger? Why is she back to square one? It's Sameer's past (aka his bet on Naina/his fake love drama). Second reason for her mood swing. As Sameer started to list out the things he has done so far + past, she is triggered! She took a big leap by falling in love in the first place, she broke her own paradigm she was brought up with. This is big! More than trusting Sameer, she is not able to trust herself. Its like saying, well look you broke your morals and look, you were so wrong! So, she is fighting herself! And now has gone like well eff time to put my walls back up! How can she again trust this guy and break her morals? She will be wronged again! This is her dilemma, true reason for her mood swings! LOVING HIM AGAIN, is big guys!! Sameer's Q today, "Toh kya hum phir se dost..?" is a big Q for her to take that leap! Hence the hesitation while accepting the choodiyan from him but this wasn't because of her anger for bet at all. Later the trigger happened!
There will come a time when Sameer's past won't affect Naina. Infact, the past will make their relationship even stronger. Trust will be at it's peak during dating phase.
Preeti knowing is another now! Just when she has started to melt, this happens! Well, now her sister has slapped and is hella angry with her, like well eff! Of course she is going to be angry with Sameer. BUT this anger is way different than bet anger!! Now its Preeti knowing + lil bit of bet anger. She has melted already to a greater extent with the award incident. (clearly done for dating phase so she can help Sameer-Naina with their dates, so wanted Preeti to know about their relationship) Also done, to show Naina mirror in a way! She needed that thappad! Can't wait for this to unfold tmro! She has full right to be angry. She should take class of Naina and Sameer, BOTH! I love you CVs!
------
EDIT: So, this has unfolded now. I loved the way the Preeti's track was handled. Didn't feel it was rushed. Yes I wanted her to take class of Sameer too, who knows she will in a fun manner during Shaadi. But the way this unfolded, it made me understand that Preeti saw what Naina didn't. When Naina said, she wants to finish it off. Her expressions said it all and Preeti connected the dots, since she saw everything from the start. Her mentioning, naukar, ameer, taane.. he is doing all this so that kuch khatam na ho! This is what Naina needs to see!! And Preeti will do just that! Stayed true to her character imo! Dragging it to tmro's episode would take away the whole feel. Such confrontations should be done in 1 episode unless there are more layers. Fast paced. I liked it! Preeti owned the episode!
Wrote a bit on this epi
here!

I love how true CVs are remaining with the characters! The age is big factor here. They are 17-year-olds. The mood swings are so natural at this mid-teens age! Be it, Sameer's childlike "Mujhe pata tha" to Naina's "Bilkul" today or his frustration to Naina's thinking that what he did was for himself. At this age, we are on the verge of being child-like and mature at the same time. While Sameer has to some extent taken that leap towards maturity, Naina is still doing that. They are still mid-way into this maturity-scale, if I can say so! I was mentioning to my friends that I should give y'all a time machine to when I was 17-yo, I swear you'd judge me more than Naina with my mood swings. I was a mess, just like they are. Well they are handling it way better imo! When Naina and Sameer are more than mid-way into this maturity-scale, thats when Sameer's past won't affect Naina and she will make peace with it.
FINALE! To my post and to the sorry phase! Woohoo!
For Sameer's bet phase, Mt.Abu was the finale. For Naina, its the Shaadi. By the end of Mt.Abu track, he finally took a call that he will not continue with the bet. Here by the end of Shaadi, Naina will take final call and finally forgive Sameer which will end with a emotional and beautiful confession of their love for each other as they embrace each other into a relationship. (for which btw, I have no patience for whatsoever LOL)
Patience is the virtue here guys! For those not understanding a natural character growth, especially Naina's, please let it unfold, don't make judgements so fast. I hope my post helps a little in understanding this character growth. Also, now when I look back at the episodes, the sorry track all feels smooth and fits together well with the combination of Sameer's realisation and redemption. I mean thinking about time, its been only a lil over a month post bet revelation and 2.5weeks in the show's timeline, so this is not at all bad. Entire bet phase was like 2ish months so yeah. Patience guys! Breathe in, breathe out!
PS. Episode inconsistencies vs Naina's mood inconsistencies/swings are two separate things. Switch in the writers and directors + shooting later episodes earlier and putting them in later - affected few episodes for sure. It was evident. But that doesn't make bashing Naina justified at all. Not related to each other!
