If we observe right from the beginning, Naina does not take rejection well. When Sanjay Tibriwal got one mark more than her in Maths test, Naina could not accept that he scored higher than her.She rummaged through the entire paper, found a tiny mistake done by the teacher and made sure she scored the highest.Teacher mentioned that Naina always wants to be the topper.Even during Romeo and Juliet play, she tried to get Juliet's part even though she knew that Swati had practised for it putting lot of effortsThe truth is Naina does not take rejection well. She is under shock, denial and anger that Sameer did all this for only a bet.The rejection has simply clouded her mindI agree she is still a young girl and heartbreak is especially tough at that age. But the pain of rejection has doubled her pain. There are five stages to accepting grief -Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptanceI think people go through these steps quickly or slowly based on their personalitiesDue to Naina's nature, she is not able to cross that denial and anger stage quickly.I am sorry for what Naina is going through. I like her. I feel for her.But this is going to a learning curve for her.She needs to change her attitude and hopefully this incident will teach her to understand that life is filled with ups and downs. One needs to accept that this is the way life is.We do not get what we desire always. When we face failures, we cannot take our frustration on others who love us

When she didnt tell who is real culprit behind exm paper kaand?2. When she didnt ask persmission for preeti dat time3. When she said such harsh words to Preeti in friday's epi...😒Baaki jitnein bhi instances tumne bole nah maine kabhi utna socha nahi q ki teenage love hai and pyaar mein toh pehle Pyaar ko importance degi😆 and wat Naina did happens in REALITYso mereko utna gehra feels nahi hua🤔 But aaj yeh post padhke lag raha hai aree yarr yeh bhi sahi hai she always did the same yaar... and its not right...👍🏼 Toh Thank U for this detailed analysis...😉 well done👏And I agree We should accept everyone along with their flaws then only it will b called LOVE😃Yeah yeh to sach hai ki everyone has flaws and thats what makes the character realistic... but i just tried to bring out these traits in her character😛Thanks for the detailed comment dear😃

Wow interesting topic followed by an even more interesting analysis...I wanted to reply to this ages back, but was caught up with stuff...thought I was too late, but no..the topic is still seemingly very active...So here I go ..better late than never:)Sure dear...thanks😃My views on your points..Your initial write up on Naina's background is bang on :)Saving Sameer from the cigar thing(*I haven't watched this part, started watching the serial a lil later),but yeah...since Naina fell hard for him she did it..and I don't think she harmed anyone through that...So here I wouldn't call her action selfish..its more about doing something a wee bit morally wrong, but when in love at 16,itna to chalta hai 😳She didn't harm anyone but what i tried to bring out is that in this incident too she kept her feelings for him above the truth...which she keeps on enchanting about the truth... its again about her feels only😳Helping Sameer for the head boy..I agree that she helped him despite knowing that he was in direct competition with Arjun. But I don't think it was wrong of her to do that...I think she overheard Sameer say how much important the head boy thing was for him and that triggered her idea to help him.Plus she didn't offer help,Sameer asked for help(as far as I can recall)...In such a scenario,I think its okay..Here I agree with Chachaji's words of wisdom...I again wouldn't call Naina selfish here,a bit immature maybe. She is not worldly wise and has not yet seen that dog eat dog world where people hesitate to help someone else for fear that the other person would overtake them...and naturally enough, isn't that the magic and innocence of school life?We help everyone without thinking about the consequences. You have a point dear... i accept your take but still i would try to say that her morales change according to her feels and moods...her reactions are not consistent😳Ah/!!The famed key...Metaphorically becoming the key to her problems too 😆..Again,I would write it off as the innocence and immauturity of adolescence...Even today,we often think that seeing is believing. At 16,I am sure seeing is definitely believing and complete undisputed truth.I don't think it would have ever crossed Naina's mind that there could another side to the story..so what she did seemed perfect from her pov at that time.Keeping mum about the truth on the stolen papers..Again,I feel it is the natural reaction of scared teenager who knows what is right but can't gather the courage to do it...Aren't we all like that at that age?It is when we become adults, that we clearly know right from wrong and develop the moral strength to choose right over wrong(over vice versa in some cases😉).Naina knew the truth but if she had told her father,he would have been devastated. If she had told the principal,Arjun would have been expelled and her father would have been devastated. If she had told Sameer,Sameer would have told the principal. It was lose lose for Naina from all sides.People had come to terms with their idea of reality...To stir the pot at that point would have required tremendous courage, especially if one is likely to burn one's own fingers by doing so.Naina must have had a hard time making that decision, but it was a normal thing to do at that age.But these experiences would have taught her(and Arjun) a few lessons for later life.I agree dear but through the vo we have got to hear about many things that she realised later as her fault...like the one about hiding about their relationship from Swati...but this thing is forgotten everywhere... i hope we get to hear this in upcoming episodesRomeo Juliet..yes,this is the first time I saw Naina as a wee bit selfish...I don't think it was wrong of her to ask for Juliet's part(though I realize that many people think otherwise). But it was certainly wrong of her to get Swati caught up in class while she went for the play and even worse that she did this harbouring hopes of becoming Juliet...That was selfish,no doubt. She seemed blinded in love and obsessed to the point that she sacrificed her friend for Sameer...Same to same thoughts😉Her not telling Swati...I don't think we can make that big a deal out of it...I think not telling Swati was not a conscious decision or a trust issue. It was more of something that simply happened due to circumstances. Swati has always talked about boys to Naina(by the look of it),but Naina has this reputation of being Ms Studious. She probably has never looked at or talked about any boy to Swati before that..To top it all,Swati also teased /mocked Naina over her looks and always assumed that Sameer was interested in her.In such a scenario, breaking the news can be tough...and then initially,Naina had no idea that Sameer was interested in her.So she had no reason to tell Swati about her feelings coz Swati would have probably laughed at her outright...And by the time she knew that Sameer was interested in her even to a slight extent,Swati had gone way too far with her assumptions/imaginations...And Naina did try to break the news to her,but it didn't work.I don't think that not tellingShe never tried to reveal the truth any time dear...im sure of this... Swati overheard her convo with shefali when she was making a cake to say sorry to him😊Reg permsission for Preeti,we have no idea if she tried, but even assuming she didn't,I don't think we can read much into it.Maybe Naina was allowed because she is a good student.I think her asking or not asking would not have made an iota of a difference and they both knew it...Even Preeti is not upset with Naina for not asking...And then the story demands that Preeti should not go,if she had gone how could all this have happened in Abu right under her nose ?I would call it a creative liberty dear😛Calling Sameer into her room,selfish?Maybe..but i again think that as a 16 year old,she didn't put so much thought into it.Here she was crazily madly in love..aur pyar mein bade bade bewakoofiyan kar jaate hain..yeh kya cheez hai?I think calling Sameer inside was a stupid decision dictated purely by the heart(it happens when people are in love),but it was not selfish by any standards. But Swati is too in that age group... she told Naina whether she was mad that she called him inside... being blinded in love is expected but keeping your friends reputation at risk is not acceptable😊Shouting at Preeti, that one really pinched me...It was surely selfish...Just because she is heart broken she has no right to shout at Preeti like this. But sometimes we make such mistakes and realise it only later.I can think of times when I have troubled my mom non stop for no reason,b ut now that I am married and am the mother of a child,I realise that it was both wrong and selfish of me to do that.I value her even more now as I think of all those times...Yeah... you are right😊I am not trying to justify Naina''s actions here. But I think we need to give her a break before branding her as "selfish".Naina has acted selfishly at times, but I personally don't think we can brand her as a selfish girl. She is any normal 16 year old, confused, immature and stupid at times. She is also human, that makes her act somewhat selfishly at times. This selfishness is driven by her mad love for Sameer...Now that her bubble has burst, she will become wiser and mature. She will also develop more empathy and will hopefully become a better person overall...😊I know that dear... but again when she was saying mujhse sirf ek galti hui... aur wo tum ho... i was like... baaki sab ko kahan chhod diya 😉Loved to reply to your comment dear😃

Some sensible thinkers here. Im glad Naina is being shown in this manner because it is more real to life and shows how teens can become self absorbed in their problems to the point of projecting their misguided anger upon others not deserving of it.
I hope she grows from this ans the cvs address this so tgat she does and Im sure she will being the main lead. Also I hope she realises the value of other relations now like Preeti and Swati. They do quite a lot for her and she hasnt really appreciated that in its fullest, here I think Sameer wins the friendship race because he atleast is more sensitive to hurting his friends although yes he has his own issues too.
You are absolutely right! She is indeed what you have said. I find Sameer a better character than Naina!
